wouldnt really call haven all that beutifull, mainly just the rich district near the palace and the stadium, although i did like the new water slums transformation to freedom HQ in jak 3, as well as some areas in jak X, although talking about jak X i think kras city would be more suited for the list since that place was largely untouched by the metal heads and dark makers its very wealthy and beutiful, however since its largely ran by gangs and the races going on every year would make living near any street pretty dangerous with all those weapons and flaming cars flying around lol
You should've had the Hong Kong from Sleeping Dogs on this list. It's a beautiful locale and everything. But every left turn has a gangster controlled street corner or a corrupt police official shaking down a citizen.

Rob has inspired me to be a completionist and a perfectionist type of video gamer. He has also reawakened the ten year old me who just got a ps1 with Crash Bandicoot and Final Fantasy vii; and who was so unimaginably blown away by all the games showcased on the back of the box the PlayStation came in.

And for real, I don't know how people rush FFXV..I hear some completed it in 20 hours about or under...I'm only on chapter 3 and have 23 hours put into it. (Because I like side quests and monster hunts obv.)
Adam Block I'm a bit concerned that I'm level 70 in FFXV, and haven't even seen Leviathan yet... I like the game, but I'm getting flashbacks of FFXII. I wanted to do most of the optional hunts before starting the end battle, and when I finally did begin the mission, it ended a little too soon with just a few long quickening chains. He wasn't a very memorable boss.
Eric Villarreal I know how you feel a little bit, but I'm the same way, I just like to all the quests as they appear and same with the monster hunts. I think that's part of what makes the game enjoyable, is that you can get lost in what you're doing if things are interesting to you on the side. You can always do a completely different playthrough where you just do the main story and see how that plays out too. That's almost what I plan on doing myself after this one. I'd consider the playthrough I'm doing right now a near 100% (probably not completely trophy wise, but collecting and doing most things wise). And to me in general, rushing RPGs..just shouldn't be done..or you'll miss a lot of what makes them great. Always been in the mindset that RPGs are for more meticulous people anyways. :) Hope you're having fun though with it regardless!
You can beat the game quickly if you just focus on the main story. If you just focus on the main story you're missing out on most of the content though.
Adam Block I mean, I agree but if someone wants to skip side quests that's their prerogative. I love games such as these because they give players a choice on how they want to experience them. I'm right there with you though, I like to experience everything a game has to offer.
I first got to Markarth in that quest too. I had never seen it and I woke up confused, leading me to several quests until I worked my way back through the plains to Whiterun. The experience was awesome and so utterly unique! The first gameplay of Skyrim was full of these great moments (one of the reasons it's such a great game)!
I really liked the bit at the beginning when you showed you going to work early in the morning. I don't know sometimes we just don't think that we're all humans and that we all (almost I know) wake up early in the morning to go to work.
Thanks to you Rob n Co. I FINALLY hit Skyrim with full interest. After it and many others sitting in my games backlog. Blown away was one thing i can say. Level 18, 35hrs in. Hooked like a fish. As far as videogame cities go. Neo Tokyo in Timesplitters 2.

MGS4 act 1. a non disclosed location in the middle East but lets assume that city exists/check act 2 a non disclosed location in South America. the game devs location scouting photos for act 2 are in the middle of nowhere so none of those towns exist. act 3 deffinately Prague and Prague deffinately exists (it better do i intend to book a trip there) check. act 4 again... island exists but facility doesn't. act 5 well ....... no lolz
well you're right, but I was only mentioning cities, cause that's what the video is about. Although Shadow Moses, is a dope facility, it's not a city, neither is the jungle etc. but you ARE right in what you said.
How about 7 games that have a creative way of knocking you back to level one. For example: Assassin's Creed Brotherhood by injuring him and saying because he's old, he essentially has to relearn everything. This typically applies to sequels to explain how you aren't suddenly as strong as you were in the game before. I'm interested to see some others!

New Devon in Uncharted 4 is freaking gorgeous. I love moving through the area even though there are mercenaries everywhere, trying to kill me and also the remains of murdered pirates. But it's sort of hard to live somewhere that's flooded with water and growing moss on every available surface.
The way you talked about Boston from Fallout 4 was beautiful, I think you did a great job on describing it. It's not "pretty" by normal standards, but it has it's own kind of ruined beauty to it.
And also to add to Markarth (spoilers) as soon as you escape the prison with the Forsworn rebels,there is a fight between the guards and the rebels inside the city! Also you witness a live execution in the markets in broad daylight,oh yea,there is also a blood dragon waiting for you when you get out.
Skyloft from Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Dozens of beasties will come out at night and try to eat you (including the pet cat-lemur things that are so popular, they will charge you and try to bite your face off), you're several thousand feet in the air and ride on birds and there are other birds who will fly around and throw rocks at you, you always need to worry about running into twisters and floating rocks and other bird-riders, and if you want your mount to come then you have to jump off the side and whistle WHILE YOU ARE FALLING. Unless you're Link, Skyloft is just one big death trap.
I'm not sure if I would want to live in Yaughton (from "Everybody's gone to the rapture"). It's a gorgeous quaint town. But the creepy silence due to the lack of neighbors (even though there are enough houses to live in) and the fear of whatever killed everyone is still there would turn me off the idea of moving there. Don't really feel like hemorrhaging to death thank you very much.... 😅
If they are done well, cities can be awesome in video games. One of the reasons I love both of the Dishonored games, apart from the amazing gameplay, is because of the cities they're set in

And for real, I don't know how people rush FFXV..I hear some completed it in 20 hours about or under...I'm only on chapter 3 and have 23 hours put into it. (Because I like side quests and monster hunts obv.)
Adam Block I'm a bit concerned that I'm level 70 in FFXV, and haven't even seen Leviathan yet... I like the game, but I'm getting flashbacks of FFXII. I wanted to do most of the optional hunts before starting the end battle, and when I finally did begin the mission, it ended a little too soon with just a few long quickening chains. He wasn't a very memorable boss.
Eric Villarreal I know how you feel a little bit, but I'm the same way, I just like to all the quests as they appear and same with the monster hunts. I think that's part of what makes the game enjoyable, is that you can get lost in what you're doing if things are interesting to you on the side. You can always do a completely different playthrough where you just do the main story and see how that plays out too. That's almost what I plan on doing myself after this one. I'd consider the playthrough I'm doing right now a near 100% (probably not completely trophy wise, but collecting and doing most things wise).
And to me in general, rushing RPGs..just shouldn't be done..or you'll miss a lot of what makes them great. Always been in the mindset that RPGs are for more meticulous people anyways. :) Hope you're having fun though with it regardless!
You can beat the game quickly if you just focus on the main story. If you just focus on the main story you're missing out on most of the content though.

Adam Block I mean, I agree but if someone wants to skip side quests that's their prerogative. I love games such as these because they give players a choice on how they want to experience them. I'm right there with you though, I like to experience everything a game has to offer.

I first got to Markarth in that quest too. I had never seen it and I woke up confused, leading me to several quests until I worked my way back through the plains to Whiterun. The experience was awesome and so utterly unique! The first gameplay of Skyrim was full of these great moments (one of the reasons it's such a great game)!

I really liked the bit at the beginning when you showed you going to work early in the morning. I don't know sometimes we just don't think that we're all humans and that we all (almost I know) wake up early in the morning to go to work.

Thanks to you Rob n Co. I FINALLY hit Skyrim with full interest. After it and many others sitting in my games backlog. Blown away was one thing i can say. Level 18, 35hrs in. Hooked like a fish. As far as videogame cities go. Neo Tokyo in Timesplitters 2.

MGS4 act 1. a non disclosed location in the middle East but lets assume that city exists/check
act 2 a non disclosed location in South America. the game devs location scouting photos for act 2 are in the middle of nowhere so none of those towns exist.
act 3 deffinately Prague and Prague deffinately exists (it better do i intend to book a trip there) check.
act 4 again... island exists but facility doesn't.

well you're right, but I was only mentioning cities, cause that's what the video is about. Although Shadow Moses, is a dope facility, it's not a city, neither is the jungle etc. but you ARE right in what you said.
How about 7 games that have a creative way of knocking you back to level one. For example: Assassin's Creed Brotherhood by injuring him and saying because he's old, he essentially has to relearn everything. This typically applies to sequels to explain how you aren't suddenly as strong as you were in the game before. I'm interested to see some others!

New Devon in Uncharted 4 is freaking gorgeous. I love moving through the area even though there are mercenaries everywhere, trying to kill me and also the remains of murdered pirates. But it's sort of hard to live somewhere that's flooded with water and growing moss on every available surface.

Ahh the Forsworn. I remember pickpocketing the hearts from the Forsworn Briarhearts, instantly killing them. It was odd, yet incredibly funny.
And also to add to Markarth (spoilers) as soon as you escape the prison with the Forsworn rebels,there is a fight between the guards and the rebels inside the city! Also you witness a live execution in the markets in broad daylight,oh yea,there is also a blood dragon waiting for you when you get out.
0.35 was one of the best lines and actually made me laugh out loud. So freaking relatable
Skyloft from Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Dozens of beasties will come out at night and try to eat you (including the pet cat-lemur things that are so popular, they will charge you and try to bite your face off), you're several thousand feet in the air and ride on birds and there are other birds who will fly around and throw rocks at you, you always need to worry about running into twisters and floating rocks and other bird-riders, and if you want your mount to come then you have to jump off the side and whistle WHILE YOU ARE FALLING. Unless you're Link, Skyloft is just one big death trap.
I'm not sure if I would want to live in Yaughton (from "Everybody's gone to the rapture"). It's a gorgeous quaint town. But the creepy silence due to the lack of neighbors (even though there are enough houses to live in) and the fear of whatever killed everyone is still there would turn me off the idea of moving there. Don't really feel like hemorrhaging to death thank you very much.... 😅
If they are done well, cities can be awesome in video games. One of the reasons I love both of the Dishonored games, apart from the amazing gameplay, is because of the cities they're set in
