My grandad bought one back in 1989 . He originally went for an MB Trac 1300 ,but despite him giving an order with a full spec model to the dealer, the tractor never actually came ,so he went to the local John Deere dealer and bought the 3650 . After 31 years of tough work, it was finally time to partly rebuild it , only because after almost 18.000 hours and some abuse by a worker ,it started to have some issues, mostly with its gearbox . For a time ,my grandfather plowed, cultivated, sowed and fertilized more than 1000 hectares per year with it . Since I was little, I always thought of this tractor as a beast , although there are bigger and more powerful tractors out there, and despite having driven much larger tractors ,I don't dare driving it yet . It also sounds amazing. So it's a great purchase and a great asset to your farm and it could easily do its job for another 27 years .
A neighbour has one just like that beside us, always thought it a very nice looking tractor. Very best of luck with it Gerry.

Loved our 3650 wish we still had it!
Only two things let them down, first was the fuse card in the dash and second was the pto clutch pack wasn’t strong enough. But still I’d have another in a heart beat 🙂
Brakes in the hydraulic fluid was the real. Killer if fellas didn't mind them 😳
yes the card gives issues sometimes, I’ve to check but I think this one is a different type of card being one of the last of them. change the brakes when they’re wore and keep right oil in them and they don’t give much bother

Great video as always Gerry. Good luck with the new purchase and health to drive. Drove one years ago for a few weeks wrapping bales. Cab mountings were gone on it and it was shaky to say the least. Slowly slowly setting up my own channel. You and the other Irish lads are a great inspiration! Adam

I done hedge cutting and saw work with a 3650. Absolute super tractor and would buy one in a heartbeat myself. Pity I have no footage of it working

my first 6 cylinder 50 series was a 3050 I seen around 1988..... it was huge at the time. didn’t see 3650 in the flesh until around 91/92. was never too many around here. wanted one since that
