In 2004 I bought a New Ultra classic and riding in heavy traffic stop and go made it rough on my older wrist. I looked up all types of things to help and did not care for them. Helps a lot, thanks
Wow...Nice info Doc.
Man, I’ve never thought my 04 was hard at all. Lube the cable, adjust the clutch and it seems plenty easy to me. I’m no iron man by any stretch either I promise.
As we age our hands have less strength.
Good information here 100%
What book is that with parts?
Another great tip Doc
Great stuff Doc!
Recently been run of the road. And am looking for a 88 superglide to replace my 1200 sporty. Why do i do this to my poor wallet. Already looking for mods.
Thank You
Is there a kit for a 2012 Sportster?
Not from H-D but Mueller offers one for your sportster
Hey Doc, I have a 93 Sportster 1200. Will this fit my bike. If not what are my options?
No this will not. Look into the Mueller company....Doc
@@LowCountryHarleyDavidson Thanks for the reply. So I have been scratching my head for a while. What I found out was the original owner changed to a chrome primary cover. HD part# 34951-95, which i think is for a 94 and Up Sportster. So i'm assuming i need this one.... Item: P1022632 SKU: 10263965.
Since it's a different primary cover any other suggestions besides Muller?
I have a 2016 Sportster Roadster and on occasion when I release the clutch it makes like a squeak noise which almost sounds like the tire chirping but I am not chirping the tire please help me to solve this problem when you can thank you God bless
Please look at your drive sprocket nut, it may visually look okay but you need to try to re-torque it.
I test rode a '91 (I think if I remember right) low rider years ago and the gentleman told me that it had a heavy duty clutch in it. From the first shift through probably the 3rd it would sound like it was chirping the tires upon releasing the clutch. I think it was, not for sure but it sure felt like it. When I released the clutch I could definatley feel it grab hard.
when I start the my 2012 model m109r, the sound of rattling noise comes from the side of the clutch and as soon as you press the clutch lever, the sound stops what is the problem of the thing please help me
I do not have a Manual for a m109r.....Doc
This is part number 36808-05. This is not for use with SE parts.
Thanks Doc verry Nice
Hold about a hard to pull Evo clutch.
Hey Doc. You know what’s frightening......... you actually look like me , or do I look like you ...... by the way my picture on my profile is not me it’s my dog Alfie. Love the info. All the best.
That guy didn’t use synthetic in his trans 😲
One would think that the engineer team would have a cross section of REAL user's look at this before they go into production.
This kit is now discontinued for anyone else that watches this video and wants to buy it. Just an FYI. If you type the part # into Harley's website nothing will come up.
Still in the 2023 catalog….Doc
Why does it say it fits 06 and later right on the box...?? But you say pre 05
The box is saying that the improved reduced effort clutch comes stock on 2006 and later.
Low Country Harley-Davidson oh ok thanks
It’s always a “ kit” that is not free
👍
Earlier.........Before ?????
Pre-05.....Doc
These are for paper pushers
Tell the truth Doc, unfortunately you can't get the parts puppies behind the counter to look up anything that old. They can't be bothered. Reading this- buy a kit from DENNIS KIRK or JP CYCLES, and it will be cheaper, work as well, and you won't be INSULATED by some rude and obnoxious tough guy WANNABE behind the parts counter. Yes Doc, you're a true gentleman, but sorry the TRUTH is, Harley Dealers leave LITTLE TO BE DESIRED, unless of course you are a R.U.B. buying a new fully loaded dresser. And yes folks, the average person can do the conversion at home, you don't need a PhD. Master Technician. Which I am by the way. RIDE SAFE RIDE FREE 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
So which is the best kit, Mueller or the Harley kit?
@@bodeine454 doc says muller my mueller should be here in a few days ill let you know how it goes
man its sad but 90% of the time they are just straight dicks. every once in a while you'll find a good one.
Doc is a Guy From Chicago. Not this bird brain.
You probably shouldnt ride a heavybike if you cant grip the clutch ha
Some people have arthritis in their hands or an old hand injury or who knows, ain't no shame in it....
Harley Davidson builds overpriced crap and then instead of recalling their bikes and fixing the crap. They charge YOU more for overpriced parts to fix their original crap. This is so typical of HD. It's no wonder there are so many more rice rockets that don't have any issues and that perform just fine right out of the box. Not to mention sucking the doors off of any Harley on the road.
Well Bill, Thankyou for coming on this video and sharing your wonderfull experience and knowledge....Doc
Lol harley-davidson makes shitty motorcycles...to sell you kits
Is there a kit for Evo too?
Nope, You gotta stay old school and keep everything lubed and adjusted....Doc
@@LowCountryHarleyDavidson thanks for quick answer. Yes, i've been doing just that. BTW, would be interesting if you'd make a video of sidecars some day, how to make it run straight and general maintenance etc.
