- I'm a huge fan of trading with other collectors. It's an excellent way to round out your collection with things you might not be able find on your own - without breaking the bank! This is first part of a MONSTER trade with Greg. We've traded a few times before, and we're back at it! You won't believe the goodies he sent me!

Pretty sweet surprise package there! Some nice penny examples to add to the collection. Looking forward to seeing the other coins. Cheers!
More to come! More goodies in the other denominations, too!
Enjoy again, James! Can't wait for the future videos. No matter what coins someone trades with you there is always room for upgrades. I rather see a low grade coin in an album then a empty spot. Some of the coins have little extra value but are more for educational purposes. Zinc cents definitely are not long for world due to their composition, but due make for interesting "errors".
Thanks so much for the trade, including some beautiful cents and some very cool varieties and errors! Can't wait to dig into the rest!!
What a great trade! Can't wait for part 2!
Another great video. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video! Very interesting and informative, as always! :)
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
James...check the rim of the 2020's for a saying "The body was already fragile". A NYC based nonprofit was commissioned to do this for the pandemic.
120,000 were done
Very cool - I'd never heard about that! Definitely something to look out for! Very cool!
Very cool Greg. Those were some super nice 50's coins. Looks like James needs a nicer 1993D. I might have a few of those to spare. I did a hunt recently and ended up getting a whole roll of those in the box.
Nice acquisition. I love the pennies
Thanks 👍Some really nice stuff in here. I might be coin roll huntint a very long time before I ran into any of these coins here in Canada!!
that 1992 penny has zinc rot which is common on zinc cents
I think they'll all end up this way!
Another amazing video.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much for watching!
You can order pages for that album, I know you can get blae pages .I added three-fourths pages to my album. Keep going your looking good. Greg from Ky
Thanks, Greg! This one's full, with 7 pages in the book. I could get blank pages, but I wouldn't be able to jam them in there! I'll keep trying to get something better for these cents!
The 1909 S VDB forget it! This is similiar to the 1936 dot Canadian penny.
Well, there are only 3 1936 dots, but there were over 484K S VDBs made (PCGS estimates that about 50,000 might be left). I'm sure one will turn up! ;)
I was talking to another coin collector from the U.S. the other day, and they found a 1909-S VDB a couple weeks hunting coins. I think they sold it for somewhere between $800-$1000? It wasn't in very good condition, I heard.
Not impossible!!
Awesome trade.
Yes it was! Thanks for watching!
Have you seen the new ebay listing for 1943 lincoln penny experimental planchet? How many types are there for 1943?
I have not seen the listing. I'm sure some experiments were done, and there even may be some of those out in the wild. I actually have no idea how many types there might be. I'd have to research that. I'm most interested in circulating cents. I don't think any of these varieties would be widely available.
Sometimes there is room to just add pages to that type of albums
This one seems pretty tight!
If I'm not mistaken, I believe that 1961 D RPM is worth a TON OF $$$$$!!!
LIKE $1000 OR MORE. Or am I thinking of something other coin?
Definltey a valuable error, but not quite that level! I just had a look at eBay and I'm seeing them go for 30-50. So defintitely a great coin to receive in a trade!
Recently I just pick up a junk silver bag of silver coins
No Americans but I did got a 1907 Quarter and a couple of
King George V's a nice collection of silver now. Just quarters and dimes
I wish there was a silver half in there.
That sounds like a nice purchase! I love old silver!
Me too but I didn't purchase it i got it for free and there were 2 old nickels and some foreign coins
Free = Best Deal!
Dang bro your good at collecting
Thanks! It helps when you have friends you can trade with!
Very nice set! I'm kind of annoyed they put the '55 DDO in there. That shouldn't be a requirement in a standard date set. They should have a separate book with no dates so you can make a custom one with your own perameters like lighthouse has. Also, who's putting one of those in a whitman? That's a big money coin. A 14D will run you 500 for a VF and the 09S vdb you can snag for under a grand. Especially if it's low details graded. Those I can see putting in, but the 55ddo is a couple grand minimum. If you can even find one that low. There is a 1955 DDO FS-102 that is much cheaper. I don't think the book mentions it must be an FS101, does it? Maybe you can be a little cheeky, get one for 60 bucks 😂
Agreed. It seems kind of silly. It's like some of the old Whitman Canadian penny folders that had a spot for the 1936 dot. There's like 3 of them!!
@@CADRollHunter I know, the library of coins album that has space for 1858-1992 with Victorian major varieties has a spot for the 36• cent. But that was made in the 60s. I gave that book to my friend and I try to bring him new coins piece by piece.
$61 to ship a $29 album to Canada?!?!? I don't know where they're getting that rate. I'll check and see what kind of rate I can find.
That was the shipping rated quoted by the Whitman rep on the phone. She said it was based on the size of the box for that album. Seemed kind of steep to me!
I just ordered the album you were quoted a $61 shipping charge and paid $9 in shipping here in the US. I'm going to see what it would cost to send it to Canada. From what I can tell the shipping charge is not even close to $61, except for the box it was shipped in.
I think they were padding the shipping fee just a bit!! I'm curious to know what the USPS actually charges!
