I just love watching your drone footage and any footage of the beautiful winter scenes and surroundings. I'm so sorry that you had to go through the emotional turmoil about your cat, but I'm so glad you spared him. I have seen and heard of many cats with only 3 legs who live happy lives! I think that feeling alive in the new year is a great way to be. I feel that way too! May you have a wonder-filled 2023! Thank goodness you did not put the cat down. He is very young and still has full of life and energy. He will be fine with three legs. Many animals have have their legs amputated for many reasons and have survived. Also I like the color beige much better, especially in a small space. Neutral colors are always best with white trims.

Awe your sweet cat makes me cry, my mother lost her kitty in Nov from kidney failure he was 19. But he lived most of his life with 3 legs and then about 5 years ago had to have an eye removed. Your cat will be fine. 💕 they do quite well. We put a step stool for him to get on the couch or bed to help decrease the distance he had to jump. Lovely video, all the best 💕🇨🇦
So sorry your mother lost her cat! Must have been really tough after such a long time together and overcoming all those challenges. Thank you for telling me about him, it feels very reassuring to know he lived a good life on three legs too
I hope you don't get any backlash. Dogs and cats can get along with 3 legs, so you absolutely made the right decision in my opinion. Cats don't feel sorry for themselves and they dont feel bad they have 3 legs. He's happy he's not in pain any more and can walk and run pretty much like before. Here in the US I think most people would make the same decision. I'm glad to see that the Veterinarian who commented below me agrees as well!

Happy with your decision. I lived on a farm as a child, and we actually had a cat that was born with only three legs. And as children, of course we named him "Three Legger". Not very original, but apt. He did very well, as your cat seems to be doing. Also LOVE your videos of nature! I take still pictures when it is so beautiful out, but your films
are wonderful. Keep them coming!
Haha, three legger is what I call Flint these days too only in Norwegian "Trebein". Glad he did well, that is encouraging

Your video is stunning. I totally understand where you were coming from regarding moving away from your old life. I too moved away from family and friends , to the countryside. I’m not a particularly outgoing person but knew I had to make a real effort to join in with the people around me. Now nearly two years later, I have several new friends and can’t imagine returning to live in a large town.

Your kitty is so young, and for what it's worth, I think you definitely made the right decision. He could still have such a long and full life, and as the vets you talked to said, because he is young he will adapt very well. I am sorry you had to go through all that, and had to make such a difficult decision, but I think you made the right one. I hope you will have many wonderful years with him.

It is good that you did not euthanize your cat. I have a dog and I know how hard these decisions can be. And I am glad to hear you have a community where you live, me and my husband also moved to the countryside 4 years ago, and everything you say is true. Life is much more enjoyable when you have bought friends and a nice place to live. Have a nice day :)

I know several people who have three-legged pets and they all live great lives! They still run and play and act as if they have all four legs. I'm sure Flint will have a very long, happy life!

I live in a little mountain town in Oregon, U.S. I too, love to just stare at the mountains that surround me, and my favorite is Winter! Beautiful views of the countryside. I spent some time in Norway several years ago and loved the beauty but I didn’t spend enough time in the countryside, so now I enjoy your videos and hope to return one day for more exploration.
I would make the same choice for my cat if he were so young. I have a senior cat (17 years) who is slowing down these days.

I had to have one of dogs leg amputated because of cancer. Animals do fine with three legs. I also adopted another three legged dog. Do not worry about what other people think. You do what is best for the cat, because you love her.

I'm American so I think it's a cultural diff because generally speaking, we do *everything* possible for our pets here, before choosing to euthanize. We consider them part of the family and that extends to health issues. I always make decisions for my pets based on the quality of life they'll have - one less leg does not diminish the quality of life for a young and otherwise healthy kitty. 🙂 ❤️
Yes for sure. That goes for Norwegians to a certain degree as well. But here many people think it removes all the joy of a cats life to remove a leg, and therefore some consider it cruel. Its a bit complicated, but people are opening up to it more and more 😊.

I had to do the same thing with my cat and she got along just fine..I'm really happy I did it and boy she could walk and run just fine with three legs..so I'm happy you gave your pet another chance at living a longer life.

Hi I think you made the best choice for your fur baby, we have a German Shepherd she's our fur baby and we had to make a choice for her when she was only one to never be a mummy due to girl problem and believe me we would do the same again to have her healthy and happy 😁 your amazing don't let anyone tell you other why's

We know a danger and ancient worry that comes with winter if we haven't prepared for it enough and a usual one adds more worry rushing us past the silent restful earth time and it's beauty. Knowing animals are in the same ship 😢 yet if we watch they have taught us. It is how are ancestors learned to gather and store yet there is that ice age we are remains of. I hope you relax and enjoy it.
I have many cats and I love them all so much! I definitely understand how you were anxious and trying to keep busy when you were waiting for word about what the vets could do for him! You definitely made the best decision for him! He looks so happy!♥️♥️♥️

Hello, I live in the U.S. and it is very common to amputate a pet's limb if there is cancer, or a bad break or something else that causes pain and cannot be fixed any other way. I foster dogs for a rescue group and we have had so many dogs and cats go through this procedure. They adjust very quickly and live full and happy lives. I personally believe that it is wrong to euthanize an animal for this type of injury, especially if it is young like yours. You made the right decision and it doesn't matter if others don't agree with it.

How wonderful that you foster dogs for a rescue group, I salute you for the important work you do for the animals! Indeed, others opinions will not affect me in the matter, at least not now that I have made the decision :-)

My most beloved cat, León, suffered a terrible injury in one of his hind legs and suffered terrible pain and infections for 7years because the stupid vets in Argentina thought It was wrong to amputate. We moved to Spain, the vet here decided to relieve him from such pain and amputate the leg. He became so Alive, such a differente cat. There was no difference between 4 or 3 legs
Oh my, so sorry you had to go through that. Here the vets luckily insisted that we amputate or put him down, as he would have been in a lot of pain otherwise. I'm glad that Leon got the right treatment eventually

25 yr ago, our cat had his front leg removed. He quickly adapted and was so even still able to hunt. He lived for many more years and was very very happy. ♥️

I watch your videos for a few months now and you should never apologize for the decisions you make for yourself. You do what is right for you. If someone doesn't agree that is their right but they don't have the justification to criticize another. I personally would have come to the same choice if he would my cat. We are cat lovers but after having had the most amazing cat in the world and loosing him to old age, we have not gotten another. He was everything to us! We never had children and he was our family. Our cats before him were also but this one was extra special. So yes you did the right thing to follow your heart. And you can see he is happy and adjusting.
