    PLEASE NOTE!!!
    A great majority of this footage features Acorn Woodpeckers... which, it's important to note, drill grids of holes in trees to store acorns in. This is called their "larder" and they store acorns in these holes to eat later in the year.

    Woodpeckers noise ? What's noise

    • @arthas640
      @arthas640 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pretty true with most birds. Since they can fly they can afford to make noise, especially since they can escape in 3 dimensions or even just jump off the tree/branch they're on. The main threat a woodpecker has is predatory birds, mainly raptors, who usually have a hard time nailing an animal on the side of a tree where branches might get in the way, and the only way to get them would be to fly past and somehow grab them without smacking the tree trunk. They mainly get killed in their nests, on branches, or if they land on the ground.

    Do you know some rats die as soon as they get their "MILK" cuz they can't stop having seggs, I imagine this as just another addiction but they're having seggs with trees? And they don't usually die?

    Imagine if a Wood Pecker actually chopped down a Tree in WWII where the Americans were having Balloon Tanks to troll the Enemies and the Enemies be like:
    HOW DID THAT TREE MAKE A SHERMAN FLY?!?! NATURE IS TAKING REVENGE!!!!

    A car may not do damage to a turtle shell, but I can tell you from first hand experience a turtle shell is no match for a fully loaded 80,000 pound 18-wheeler. Long story, but it happened in a road construction section at 55mph with no way to avoid it. Pieces of shell went everywhere. No telling what people in the cars behind me saw.

    I had a woodpecker living in the woods behind my house years ago, and that MF was loud as you know what. I despised that thing because it was SO LOUD at 5 EVERY MORNING… ALL that year. Thank God I moved, because woody woodpecker would’ve probably got it had I not LOL!

    In Wisconsin we have large numbers of Downy Woodpeckers and Pileated. And honestly I swear the tiny Downies are louder.

    How must the digestive system of a Acorn be modified to eat that, compared to normal woodpeckers that only eat animal protein?

    I wish pileated woodpeckers would quit building dams across the English channel. Having all the water fill up on one side makes it such a hassle to navigate.

    Some years ago I sow woman wrapping bacon over tree in Central Park in NYC. I ask her why, she said : for woodpeckers, it was blizzard and snow till knees.
