I once hiked the rail line they built for the construction of hoover dam. I came out of one of the tunnels and found myself face to face with a goat. He was about 20 feet up the cliff. Took a step toward me. I took a step back and raised my arms and yelled. He turned tail and was 500 feet above me it 10 seconds. The most incredible thing I experienced in Nevada.
And you know what I believe you I was only gonna mess around and say I don’t believe you at first but this guy beat me to it lol but I do believe you I seen the videos of How they climb dams like that
Imagine the goats approached the humans in a friendly manner and the humans didn't interpret the approach as an attack. A pretty cool symbiosis could form. They get the our sweat and we get to pet them haha. It's a win-win situation.
It has a great way that he teaches all of us, with great sense of humour, I've noticed he uses some memes in his videos, and that what makes his videos educating and entertaining
30 years ago I was hiking in the Olympic and some goats visited the camp. They started licking my sweat soaked pack so I put salt on my hand and they licked it off. They have a tongue like 00 sandpaper. No damage done and both of us enjoyed the encounter.
One thing that is not very good about hunting them is if you shoot them it’s like an eagle they fall off and everything breaks so you have to find a way to kill them and keep them exactly where they are. Now you have to get to them that’s very hard then get them down
I never knew of the Eagles pulling goats over ledge to plummet them to their deaths. I knew about the swimming yet did not know why? Thank You for the new fresh input.

@@amalabuzar303 If the eagles were not there, the goats would multiply until most of them starve to death. Then the flora would recover and it starts anew. It's far less cruel to have some predators then to starve to death.

I once saw a video of a hawk throwing a goat off a mountain and me and my whole cross country starting freaking out cause it was so gnarly. And we didn’t realize the national anthem was playing at our meet... our coach was mad lol

Dude this was one of my favorite videos from WATOP haha! I laughed a lot n it was educational. I live in the Rockies so when I climb n see goats I am always so fascinated by their skills n it's really cool seeing how close you can get to them haha.
Among all animal videos, I like videos about the mountain goats, best. Because of it's anti- gravitational moments, it is near to impossible for other animals to imitate the mountain goat's vertical climbing 😍
Fun fact: not only mountain goats learned to breath thin air, humans did too, There are 3 human types that i know of Who live in the middle of the sea for decades can stay underwater for a loong time and see underwater Second are people who live in mountains can breath thin air and do much more hard work than normals And third are.. us people at home and sitting on the couch all day and watching videos

Members of a hunting club brought a half-dozen mountain goats to the Olympic Mountains in the early 1920's. About 15 years later, when the goat population had grown enough to support hunting, the area was turned into a national park, preventing any hunting in the area. Hunting the goats would have kept their population in check. However, hunting being prohibited caused somewhat of an ecological disaster. The goat population expanded rapidly. They destroyed many of the native species of plants and displaced many of the native animals.
You know it's an extremely effective survival strat if even humans can't always hunt them successfully without big casualties. Literally the only (with little to no risk to self) predator they have is an animal that has flight. Lol. That one's kinda a no brainer, birds can get anywhere.
