I love this format where, it's like you do the video in two parts. First, This is what everyone thoughts are before the race, THEN, this what happened. Bravo! Have really enjoyed your channel. I think it has added a lot to my favorite sport.
Tebogo ran the 200m injured last yr final at worlds and he nvr cried about bronze...the doctor advised tebogo not to run he ran the 200m but he did it anyways...
I’ve been a huge fan of tebogo for a while. Love how he runs so relaxed, runs such amazing 400m relay legs and comes across so chill in interviews. I knew he was capable of this, but I was so delighted to see it come to fruition
Noah may lean into the COVID accusation but to be honest, he looked like the normal Lyles during that intro and throughout his race…he just didn’t have it in him. I was rooted for Tobogo! I feel like even if Noah was in perfect health, he wouldn’t chased down Tobogo on this day. Big ups to the new Olympic Champion! He’s always been a threat, I’m so happy to see him win 🥇
I am not sure about that COVID excuse. Why would they let him run wirh COVID and then be out there hugging other people to potential give them COVID 🤷♀️🤷♀️😊
"Kate Hartman, the chief external affairs officer for the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee, said in a statement that the group supports Lyles’ decision to compete. After Lyles’ positive test, she said, “The USOPC and USATF swiftly enacted all necessary protocols to prioritize his health, the wellbeing of our team, and the safety of fellow competitors. “Our primary commitment is to ensure the safety of Team USA athletes while upholding their right to compete. After a thorough medical evaluation, Noah chose to compete tonight. We respect his decision and will continue to monitor his condition closely.” Lyles told reporters that few people were aware of his diagnosis. “We were trying to keep this close to the chest. The people who knew were the medical staff, coach, my mom,” he said. “We didn’t want everybody going into a panic, we wanted them to be able to compete. We wanted to make this as free as possible. I’m competitive. Why would you give them an edge over you?” Tebogo said after the race that he had noticed Lyles not interacting with anyone before they entered the Stade de France’s open air stadium and wondered what was going on. “During the warmups and in the cold room, he was just there by himself. So, personally, I wondered why,” he said. “I didn’t want to make assumptions of what he could be going through. But, after all he said after the 100-meter final, I thought maybe it’s just one of those days when he’s not having a great day. So I didn’t think of Covid or anything else.”" Y'all clowns making out like it's some kind of obvious lie. Luckily Tebogo himself has WAY more class and didn't doubt it. Congrats to Tebogo, anyone who participates in sport knows that illness and injury are part of the game. He's the real deal. There ain't no asterisk next to this win, he earned it and ran a massive PB. Big ups to Kung Fu Kenny as well, dude always comes to compete and runs fast. Well done to Lyles as well, he went out there and did his best even though it probably would've been better for his reputation to pull out.
Sorry for being late but I am now officially on the Tebogo hype train. I had it Lyles, Kenny, Tebogo and regardless of Lyles’ condition, 19.46 and an olympic gold at Tebogo’s age is amazing! Can’t wait to see the rivalry between him and Lyles in the coming years!
Some people trying to down Tebogo performance claiming he could not beat covid free Noah. That's not true, covid or no covid it was Tebogo's race. The future will prove that.
Can’t believe the lack of respect for Kenny. No one makes speed look easier than him, and he’s been slowly reeling Lyles in at 200. And he’s younger. Lyles too mechanically inefficient by comparison. He’ll be third wheel to Tebogo/Bednarek in the 200 the next four years.
I seriously doubt Kenny will threaten Lyles in the long term. Maybe when Lyles is genuinely old and starts to slow down. Didn't know he was younger than Lyles though, that's an interesting tidbit he sure looks older.

Tebogo is improving. With a strong commitment and good coaching he could go below 19.30. He just turned 21 years old in June. In the next 3 or 4 years he's almost sure to run faster than 19.46. Bednarek ran very well. Lyles was slightly disappointing but 19.70 is still respectable.
Did Usaine have that low a 200 time at 21?
@@jsigur157it's possible. He set the record of 19.19 at 23. It's hard to tell at what age an athlete will peak. I think Lyles has one more good year in him before he starts to fade. Tebogo could be like Lyles and improve well into his 20s or he could be like bolt and peak at 23
My prediction was:
🥇: Noah Lyles (19.44)
🥈: Letsile Tebogo (19.56)
🥉: Kenneth Bednarek (19.63)
The results were:
🥇: Letsile Tebogo (19.46)
🥈: Kenneth Bednarek (19.62)
🥉: Noah Lyles (19.70)

I don't care about being sick. If you are in the blocks, you are choosing to race. If you feel that bad don't show up. It's the olympics and the only thing that matters is the result. Congrats to Tebogo
He didn't say anything different, he said he was proud that he went out there and competed and won a bronze medal for his country. Pulling out probably would've been the better choice for his reputation but I'm glad he didn't. He also didn't take anything away from the other athletes, illness and injury are part of sport and Tebogo 100% EARNED his gold medal. What could've been doesn't matter in the slightest.

Noah lyles has only run below 19.46 once in his life time
Well he's ran a 19.31, 19.46, and a 19.49. this is the only time tebogo has gone sub 19.50 so it's a little disingenuous to point that out while ignoring his fast Lyles actually is at the 200

@@MDGENEX It's more likely that the psychology of Noah losing brought on his childhood asthema
We respect his decision and will continue to monitor his condition closely.”
Lyles told reporters that few people were aware of his diagnosis.
“We were trying to keep this close to the chest. The people who knew were the medical staff, coach, my mom,” he said. “We didn’t want everybody going into a panic, we wanted them to be able to compete. We wanted to make this as free as possible. I’m competitive. Why would you give them an edge over you?”
Tebogo said after the race that he had noticed Lyles not interacting with anyone before they entered the Stade de France’s open air stadium and wondered what was going on.
“During the warmups and in the cold room, he was just there by himself. So, personally, I wondered why,” he said. “I didn’t want to make assumptions of what he could be going through. But, after all he said after the 100-meter final, I thought maybe it’s just one of those days when he’s not having a great day. So I didn’t think of Covid or anything else.”"
