- For the first time, Hayley and Andrew watch Por Thozhil (2023). A bright but faint-hearted rookie cop has to overcome his fears in order to succeed in his first case which sees him partnered with a reclusive senior officer to catch a serial killer on the loose.

Andrew and Hayley, a few things to note -
The main antagonist of the movie was already shown in the backgound, he was out of focus in the background in one of the scenes.
Explanation for the question you guys asked during the supermarket scene - Here we have auto rickshaws ( or tuk tuks as they're known in some parts of asia ) kinda like taxis and are available almost every street and the share rides in them are way cheaper.
And another interesting discussion regarding abuse, Sarathkumar's character in the movie(the veteran cop) is implied to have gone through abuse as well, a scene where they show the scars on his back and another scene in which he lashes out at Prakash, on how everyone who has gone through abuse doesn't necessarily become a criminal.
I love how even though he doesn't agree with the sentiment that victims of abuse become criminals (using his own example of how he became a cop instead), he is still able to appreciate Prakash for potentially saving that kid at the end.
Edit : The voice on the radio is the voice of an RJ, she is reading off of a letter/message sent to the station. It may or may not have been the wife of the newly married policeman, it's left to the viewer's interpretation😝.

THAT WAS A GREAT OBSERVATION AND I OBSERVED IT AS WELL, AS SARATHKUMAR'S CHARACTER SAYS THAT EVERY CHILD WOULD HAVE GONE THROUGH AN ABUSIVE CHILDHOOD IS NOT NECESSARILY BECOME A CRIMINAL. STILL, ASHOK SELVAN CHARACTER WOULD GIVE A GREAT COUNTER SAYING EVEN YOU ARE ALSO NOT A NORMAL PERSON.

i think the letter was sent by the main antagonist's wife...
I liked the acting at the end where he look at the mother and son. I'm sure he wished someone did this for him when he was younger. Actor sarathkumar played it perfectly where he was emotionally vulnerable and longing for the love which he never received from his parents. 10/10. That is one of the reasons why por thozil is best cop thriller film after se7en.
Thadam(Tamil) is a good thriller watch.

If you watch the movie the second time, you will note that the killer was shown in 2 scenes before they reveal the face.

The guy who confessed to the murders, it's like other police officer used his authority & power to forcefully convince a innocent guy to confess to crimes(this kind things happen sometimes), some police do this to escape from work pressure & escape the escalating situations especially like these serious crimes

It really happened Swati murder case. Director gave name Ramkumar. He is the real victim of Swati case. In reality the cade got closed.

You were getting along with the movie very amazingly but one thing you missed to get at the climax is the senior rough officer "loganathan (sarathkumar)" was also got abused in his childhood.

Actually that senior cop is also the victim of child abuse. In one scene you could see when remove his shirt theres a lot of slash mark made by belt.

SINCE THE DIRECTOR, THE LEAD ACTOR (YOUNG COP) AND THE PRODUCER ARE FRIENDS ( IF I'M NOT WRONG). I ALSO SUGGEST TEAM JABBY TO REACT SOME OF THE BEST DEBUT DIRECTORIALS LIKE GOOD NIGHT AND DADA FROM TAMIL (KOLLYWOOD).

Love your reactions, guys.. in India "zh" in a word is pronounced "LL" for this title "pOr tholil" i don't know about most languages but in our alphabets there like 3 L's 3 N's 3 R's etc.. which are pronounced differently. So zh in the title is in English to differentiate one of the L's. Hope the info helps you with other titles you come across.. ❤

@TN-pn2jq I am from tamil. know some malayalam and can understand some words from kannada. So i can assure you it is not only from tamil it's in most dravidian languages..(me personally think it's useless cuz it's not fully implemented through all the words, just selected few.)

This movie was heavily inspired by a masterpiece Ratchasana which has been reacted but you both should watch it. Although now the story pattern is spoiled and you'd be able to predict a lot of things but for a loose adaptation this was done very well.
I just hate andrew for being so smart and predicting many things and spoon feeding a lotttt throughout the reaction😅
