Using the Alexa Home Theater Group ( 2 Echo Studio & 1 Echo Sub ) I went from the 2nd Gen Cube to the Fire stick Max because ARC Support. So, I can have my Xbox pushing Dolby 5.1. Now I got the 3 Gen Cube with my Xbox Series X in the input and I get Dolby Atmos now. I'm happy with the upgrade.

@MaximusTheChosenOne Through the HDMI input in the Fire Cube. Then the Xbox series x. I set the Dolby Atmos to Headset Format and that pushes the Spatial surround sound for Dolby Digital plus.

I was using the 2nd generation cube, now I'm using the new 3rd generation cube. So far I do not see much of a difference. I would say that the new 3rd generation cube is not worth 150 bucks after taxes. The older cube and the fire stick Max in my opinion are just as good.

i play in the moment with my dire tv stick max and struggle in astrosmash from amico home because level 2 has slowdowns and framedrops but all other amico games working smoothly, do you think the cube 3 will improve the framerate? i need like 10 fps more for a smooth gameplay in this level 2 because its too much going on on the screen so the stick seems to weak and i need this extrapower for a smoother gameplay. I cant wait and just ordered one but still want to know if the cube is a huge or more a lil performance improvement.
can you play astrosmash and make a side by side performance comparison for seeing a framerate difference?

got the 4k max stick for less than $30 last year with a trade in deal and it is plenty fast. The cube gen 3 does not seem like a major upgrade over the 4k max. same ram, just "faster cpu" and alexa speaker with larger storage that can be had with usb drive on the 4k max. cluttering the remote with more button does not make sense.

    • @M.V.P23

I agree, although the Cube has some great features like built in Ethernet and USB, I still enjoy my 4K Max and as I mentioned in another comment, mine works faster than his. Maybe he has a ton of apps and there are so many variables when it comes to Wi-Fi connectivity this test was a little misleading. I don't think the average user is getting errors when trying to install Disney + and it only took me 17 seconds to install the Weather Channel, in his demonstration it took damn near 4x longer.

This was SUPER subjective! Obviously, the Cube will be faster since it has Wi-Fi 6E and a Octo core processor, you must have buyer's remorse because it's only slight faster than the 4K Max which is 27 bucks right now. I NEVER received the error you did and mine is much faster than yours since it only took me 17 seconds to download the Weather Channel (Suspicious). Something is wrong with your test buddy. People watch this video with caution!!! You don't need a Cube to enjoy a FAST and Stable Fire TV experience. @Kpaceguy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

@misterpara5754 why would I discourage anyone. I have 3 firestick Max's. I simply plugged both in and opened up apps in real time and this is the result. Maybe a brand new max would perform faster but other than that, this is real world results

@@Kpaceguy Sorry for assuming your intentions, but from the point of view of someone who is watching your video and not technical, you're basically saying don't buy this buy THAT. At least that is the vibe I got from your vid especially when you add extra sauce saying "this is embarrassing" insinuating the 4K Max is a slow device. All I'm saying is people don't have to buy the Cube which is 5x more money for a nice stable fast device.

@misterpara5754 You're the first out of all the comments to express this feeling. I value it. But the video has been up for almost a year and I can't change anything now. If all the cube has to offer over a firestick goes is faster load times I wouldn’t waste my money on it the only reason I might give up my firestick eventually is so I can increase my storage. I don’t care about the media and photo side of the fire cube and I wouldn’t buy it for that either. So all it really does for me is one thing and I definitely think I can wait on that. I don't know if i'm living in crazy land with all the people wanting more and more and more buttons on the remote and thinking that's a great thing... frankly... to me, LESS IS MORE. My 2nd Gen FireCube has the "old" 2018 Alexa Voice Remote (2nd Gen) that basically just has directional circle, forward/back buttons, volume up/down and mute. Not much else. When I got the FireCube back in 2019, I had Cable TV and wished it had those channel up/down buttons on the current remote... back then I did... but now in 2022, I have long since cut the cord and will never need those channel up/down buttons again. It's like the remotes are REVERSE of what I wanted... I needed channel up/down buttons years ago when cable was a thing, but in 2022, I just don't need that anymore, i've cut the cord... now it's just cluttering up my remote with buttons I don't need... and don't even get me started on those four useless "shortcut" buttons to Netflix/Hulu, etc, that a lot of folks may not even have and even if they do, they can just skip directly to them with "Alexa, switch to Hulu".
I'm sorry, but I'm a HUGE HATER on adding more and more and more and more buttons to the remote... screw that, give me the old remote that just has a few well placed buttons I actually use and I don't have to trip over a bunch of buttons I will never use.

    • @MS7.7
      @MS7.7 ปีที่แล้ว

Can you pair the old remote to your new device? If so be it. I myself always use the netflix button and I love it. For the channel up and down you may not want/use it but others do so any extra feature is welcome but don’t take away features. I understand that its crowded but Amazon is evil in terms of tech. Fire/Alexa have early 2010 speeds in 2023 which is insane, they introduce new faster device like its a rocket but in fact its slower than Nokia phone. I extremely hate my echo show device for being so slow and the interface is so retarded even though its the latest generation. The only good tech they made is Alexa itself better than Google and Siri.

@@stevenrichards2356 as long as you have speeds of 50 down , there’s no difference I upgraded to full fibre and I’ve not noticed anything different and I’m getting full speeds , with regards to speed on fire stick over the cube , unless you have multiple devices then yes speed does matter greatly, but if your using 1 or 2 then no , it is great on ps5 tho takes seconds to download huge games

Based on your preferences. For someone who values usability more, the cube would be better value for money.

It basically was the same speed. If this was real time. Ya, cube was a little faster. But nothing to really notice. Shoot by the time I get all my Munches from the Kitchen both are at the same spot.

Huh? The install time was a HUGE difference. Of course, you can plan ahead and install while doing something else. However, if speed is important then it was night and day different. Sounds like you are rationalizing your purchase. Just wait for the Cube to go onsale on Prime Day ($109.99) and it's a no brainer.

@@83n80y They even made it faster now. It built into smart TVs. I just bought one for one of my Rentals.

@@prophetseven728 I'm sure they've optimized the Fire OS as well. The ones built into TVs isn't quite the same. Those rely on the TV's CPU, RAM, and GPU for functionality. The Cube is a dedicated streaming box. One of the features that doesn't get mentioned is its upscaling ability. I'm testing the Cube out. I'll let you know how it compares to a few other devices I have. 🙂

@@83n80y Nothing wrong with the cube. If it does everything you need. That is awesome. The one built in the TV does everything I need. It simple to set up. Seems to do the same as the other Firestick I have on my TV. And that one is just below the Cube. But the TV has more controls on the Controller. That about the only difference Ive seen so far.
