- This was the last game to be played in front of Anfield's Spion Kop before its redevelopment into an all-seater stand to comply with the recommendations of the Taylor Report. Of course, emotions were running high and the visitors on that day, Norwich, sportingly conceded the choice of ends to their hosts, allowing Liverpool to attack the Kop end in the second half. Martin Tyler is the commentator.

To be fair to Liverpool, it's often forgotten how good Norwich were at that point. Sadly the club didn't invest and build on a very good team that had no big time Charlies.
Out of all the club's up there at the time. Norwich lost out the most from being banned from Europe. Timing was awful. Cheers Maggie! Hope no pool fan's take offence. Just thought I'd mention that. It wasn't Liverpool's fault. By the way. What a goal Gossie! Bless you and takecare
I was lucky enough to be there that day I remember when they come out with the banner and the hour or two we were still in the Kop after the match
