Mark Schlereth, Nick Wright, Chris Broussard, and Kevin Wildes discuss whether they are surprised Belichick shopped Mac Jones this offseason and debate if this could be Belichick’s last season in New England.

How can a great HC know not much more about offense than Matt Patricia does (after 18 years with Brady)?
How could the defense of a great HC routinely collapse in 4th quarters of big games? and couldn’t win even two playoff games?

Another thing. While mac was throwing 5 yrd passes all season his rookie year while his receivers were picking up all the yac mac got the credit.

he really is I hope they have him on more. This show seems more progressive in the sense that they tend to support the players with their issues. Schlereth feels like a guy thats stuck in the 90s but not in a bad way like some of these older players. Hes a perfect complement to the guys.

This. The only real question is if Belichick is willing to bet the rest of his career on Mac Jones. There's a real possibility they finish fourth in their division this year (assuming Tua stays healthy) so tying himself to Mac Jones just doesn't seem smart.

This is the result of losing a “special” player at QB (in Brady’s case arguable the best to ever do it). While I think Brady gets waaaayyy too much credit (he didn’t block, tackle, or catch his own passes but that’s a topic for another day) there is no denying how franchises get impacted by this kind of departure. My 49ers were lucky that Steve was in the wings…..Packers had Rodgers. Most teams that lose a player like that at that position are gonna be hurting and NE is gonna be dealing with this for a good time to come
Tom Brady looked like a competent game manager in his first season....till the playoffs & Superbowl where his intangibles showed up big time. Not saying Mac Jones will ever be a Brady but a young QB needs a great OC, look at Trevor Lawrence with Doug Pederson compared to Urban Meyer.
