Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

Imagine if she actually shot that black guy with the glasses and took a photo. Lalo's reaction would be priceless.
He probably would've wanted to hire her into his crew
I love the Gus body double reaction looks like almost a Gus reaction, just like he almost looks like Gus.
"You idiot! You've shot his STUNT DOUBLE!"
"I knew lalo planned a prank for today. Thats why i hired a stunt double"
@@Sergeantio that's the whole idea of a body double.
Rhea Seehorn got ROBBED at the Emmys. This scene is absolutely incredible, and her performance in this show, especially in season 6, is some of the best acting I've ever seen in my life.

Props to the writers, they were capable of making Lalo so smart and him outsmarting Gus and Mike but without making Gus and Mike look likea dumbs
They really portrayed a intellectual battle on here
Something that way too many shows fail at.
The sad thing was they made Lalo so smart just for him to die in a very dumb way. Love season 6 but that's the one letdown to me.
@@JakeSmith-rv1hmi think it was a good battle between him and gus considering the only difference between them was a vest. Ironically something lalo made fun of
@@fantasticuuhIt wouldn’t have mattered if Lalo was wearing a vest considering he was shot in the throat.
Death Note level battle here
Like how Mike is litteraly giving orders to Gus.
he is head of security. in a moment of danger he is supposed to be in charge.
Mike is head of security... With Lalo's reappearance he outranks Gus in Gus' organisation...
It's like how the Secret Service sometimes gives orders to the President
Gus pays Mike well to take command in a crisis situation. This would have been little surprise to Gus as Mike would have trained him well beforehand, just as we saw him with Pinkman on their various missions.
And thank god Gus listened to him and obeyed. Otherwise something bad might have happened.
Lalo was the complete opposite of Tuco. Stealthy and cunning. Not to mention very patient. The man was unground in the sewers for days on end on a one man stake out for Christ sake.
The patience really differentiates him from the other Salamancas. Anyone else would've been too bloodlusted to sit back and wait.
Intelligent and strategic as well!
But still as ruthless
That wasn't cunning, so much as Lalo wanted to be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.
And charming
Mike knew right there that he screwed up on leaving them alone and assumed Lalo wouldn't go back to them.
Yep, and then he did everything he could to calm down Kim and make sure she didn't go into panic mode that he forgot to do it for himself. He went into panic mode too and did exactly what Lalo thought he'd do
Nope he realized he screwed up later when he heard Jimmy say Lalo left after Kim left.

Lalo never sent Kim to kill Gus. He just needed a diversion to kill Gus himself.
I don't think so, Lalo is smart, he figured by now that Gus is impossible to kill on a one man operation, so he will rather find evidence against Gus (The famous south wall) and present them to Don Eladio and then have an open man-hunt against Gus rather than risking going against the whole team of Gus' thugs.

@@mirzabradaric8079yea, i didn’t get it the first time i watched but he created this diversion so that gus’s men would leave the laundry and he could get evidence of the lab. gus showing up was just the cherry on top. good stuff

Some times I wonder if Walter and Jesse would have been killed if Lalo was alive during the Breaking Bad era. Lalo wasn’t erratic like Tuco. He wasn’t threatening like Gus. Lalo is the type of person to gain Walt’s trust and could outsmart him.
In this reality where Gus dies and the Salamancas are given control over what he once had then Lalo would be back in Mexico during the events of breaking bad
And then does Walter get caught without Jimmy? @@unclekarl5219
@@unclekarl5219 and he would return to new mexico hearing that his cousin tuco has got killed
Lalo vs Walt would be very interesting
If the death of Tuco is the trigger for Lalo's return, he would be coming into Walt's life before Walt reaches full maturity in his criminal transformation. The question is, what would Lalo want to do with Walt? Probably just destroy him.
The way Rhea Seehorn said that line at 1:10 should have automatically won her an Emmy. That was seriously bonechilling rage
Anger at them not being there to save Howard
cmon man what are you talking about. This isn't emmy worthy
Rage is actually one of the easier emotions to act convincingly because there are less subtleties than something like a crying scene. Many people think rage is good acting just because it’s highly emotive. A real Emmy-worthy scene for example is Walt calling Skylar for the last time in Ozymandias.
🤣🤣🤣
Thank you, hero and savior of all women
You know, after watching every episode and seeing numerous clips, I can't but notice how smart and cunning Lalo is. Doing stuff and making plans which even go over Mike's head, and Mike is far from an oblivious guy. Props to Lalo...
yeah you're meant to notice that mate
@@ElderlyAnteaterhaha about to say
Lalo is only limited by his impulsiveness, like how he unnecessarily drew heat when he killed the boy behind the counter or when he wanted to rush headfirst against Gus. It was Hector who reprimanded him and also slowed him down to get evidences. But given enough years and experiences, he could have been the next honcho of the Salamanca Family.

The only time Gus' race is acknowledged in both series to the best of my knowledge. Most crime shows emphasize race since gangs are usually ethnicity based but Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul didn't overrely on that aspect which I do respect.

Tyrus wouldn't go down so easy like the others. He was on Mike's level.

Lalo took everyone for a ride in Season 6. His very presence showed us a side of Gus we never saw before.
Also, the fact that Gus planted the gun in the lab just shows that Gus respected Lalo enough that he didn’t discount the possibility of him bypassing Mike’s defences and discovering the lab.
That extra level of caution, luck and Lalo’s hubris gave him the slightest edge in the end.
My favourite character next to Gus.
gus planting that gun and then using it to defeat lalo was the dumbest unbelievable thing in the whole series

Worthy of a final episode: the tension at its peak.
I give Lalo a lot of credit, he is written but even more brilliantly acted... but did Lalo really outsmart Mike. I sorta feel sometimes they made Mike and Gus act temporarily out of character to make Lalo look more threatening... but I know they are more capable to not overreact, have cooler heads.
It's in the "showmanship!"
Right now, Eladio thinks that Lalo is dead. So everything Lalo does chips away at their confidence. They have to play it cool to keep up appearances, but Gus is in full panic over it
Show up tonight, show up in three months, it's unnerving. Hence you get the spacing out at Los Pollos and the overcorrection from Mike headed to Jimmy's place with Gus's right hand man, Tyrus

The only reason Lalo did not manage to win over Gus is that the show is a prequel and Gus had plot armor.
Comments like this make no sense, do you think the writers just made whatever story they wanted, then waited for the climax of the series before realizing they cant have gus die? They made the whole story knowing gus would live, including writing lalo. What allowed gus to win over lalo was his extreme preparedness, which is what let him be so successful in the first place. Besides, there were so many points in their grand strategy war that could have tipped it either way that it was clearly evenly matched.

But also, despite knowing how he likely felt, always wished we got a more instant scene showing the possible Guilt Mike may have had for removing guys from following Jimmy and Kim, leading to Howard’s Death

"SALAMANCA IS AT YOUR APARTMENT?"
Mike was absolutely dumbfounded for a moment.
They wrre looking for Lalo for so long with no avail and suddenly he appears at Jimmy's appartment like Santa Claus
I though mike would notice any car park outside of facility at late night. We talking about gus high security lmao.
Lalo wasn't really smart, he just had plot armor. Even him in the sewer was silly because Gus had that place surrounded with cameras from every angle, including with night vision. They were so thorough that anything that moved was checked out, and any person that even so much as walked by was thoroughly investigated. It would be silly to think they wouldn't notice some guy with binoculars poking his head up from the sewer.
@@peoplez129you are over exaggerating buddy
The fact that events in BCS had to account for what would happen in BB gave the producers limitations or Lalo would have lived for sure. The man was a personification of charisma.
Jonathan Banks and Giancarlo Esposito made this show special. Everyone was great but these 2 were my favorites by far.
One thing I like about Lalo is he does everything himself
Six seasons of this show and not ONE damn Emmy, this show deserved half of the awards they were nominated for

Part of what makes this scene brilliant is how it injects this moment of hilarity, showing us the Gus double doing an accurate Gus reaction, while the scene still maintains its tension.

The fake Gus is hilarious
Lalo is the greatest thing to happen in the breaking bad universe he should have been introduced in season 2 instead of late season 4 🤦♂️ he’s the 🐐
There are layers upon layers here. Lalo wants to kill Gus. Gus knows this and he wants to kill Lalo. When Kim shows up Gus HAS to know that this is a setup by Lalo, that the other shoe is going to fall somewhere and that the best defense is to do the unexpected. But Gus DECIDES not to do this because he WANTS to flush out Lalo and he's the only BAIT that will make that happen in the short run. So he has been planning on the possibility that he will have to expose himself to compromise and knows that Lalo will need PROOF that Gus needed to be eliminated. That proof is the super lab. Hence Gus PLANS on being at the super lab with Lalo at some point, if all else goes wrong. And with that eventuality in mind he plants a gun there.

I was so scared for Kin in this scene. Gus’s men were on edge and they did not need a civilian knowing where they lived. When Mike appeared, I cheered, like “finally, someone with compassion who understands the threat.”
it's impressive that Lalo was still able to be this much of a threat even acting alone, I'm guessing he didn't bring any cartel guys with him because to maintain his cover he needed even the cartel to think he was dead, but he clearly didn't need them anyway
