This is not just a 'budget' printer problem.

The reason TH-cam is so messed up is the trending tab is full of the worst content ever created.. meanwhile I have to search out quality content like this. Thank you for this. I just subscribed and now I'm off to fix my z wobble.

Excellent information, outstanding delivery. You have excellent pacing, a great voice (very clear and pleasant to hear), and the information was concise + helpful + clearly well informed. I will be coming back to your channel any time my printers act up.

    This was a great video.
    No annoying background music.
    No non-stop super fast speaking.
    No cutting every 2 seconds.
Just you explaining your topic to the viewer. In great well paced detail i might add.
I wish more content creators would follow your example. Though i guess they will hemorrhage tiktok addicted viewers with limited attention spans but content creators like yourself should not need to worry about that.

      Exactly said ...
That's how teachers and professors used to speak... They have a constant phase so that the brain can be in a relaxed mode and can absorb more instead of spiking dopamine or the same kind of neuro stimulants which makes audio attractive but not memorable...

I could never get a brass nut that was tight.
So I finally went to a linear rail belt drive for the Z.
    Glad I did.

Excellent video, I've seen a lot of videos addressing this issue, but most only talk about addressing the top of the lead screw or bent lead screws.

ive been having this problem but mine is a weird case. lets say I have a cube and a hole in the middle. now the strange part is that the z banding starts and ends at the top and bottom of the hole in the rest of the cube prints just totally fine

Interesting, but not a complete diagnosis. Sometimes z banding can be caused by humidity affecting the filament. Where it is exposed on the roll just on one side to a humid environment for a few days between prints. Or could be the filament itself having the issue. I buy the same filament twice and often find the second time, they've completely changed the quality. Amazon does this all the time. The sellers build up good reviews, then change products to something far cheaper and trade off the back of all the good reviews.

I had something similar on my KP3S. It turned out that the Z axis motor had a bent shaft.

Good advice, I was curious about this fault on my printer. It seems weird that Elegoo wants the top Z axis mounting hardware to be loose! Looks like a half stupid way of coping with Z wobble.

Another very common is the bending of the lead screw.

i mean u could always fix the z band problem as whole? just replace leadscrews with belts with high gear ration :) no more dependency on straightness of z screws and u can also have printer autoallign x gantry with them if u have dual motor z belt mod :)

I need major help with me ender 3 v3 se. I can send some pics of my banding, i believe i am new to printing only about a month. I get great first layers but on the walls i have lines that look like steps. Now the first 20 or so print perfect then all of a sudden not so perfect

Ball skew is over kill and is not needed useful it will properly give more artifacts, as it will be a component that's stronger than the frame it self therefor they will bend and warp the whole thing on a budget printer and the printer need to be setup right in any chase to deliver results anyway meaning correctly put to gather meaning adjusted and fine tuned no matter what the price range .

what if it's very very slight, like you can't even feel it on the prints you just see like a slight discoloration but it's perfect horizontal lines like that in the same place every print, but it's on a core xy printer?

    • @danieljamesbinderystu2968
      @danieljamesbinderystu2968 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

That's what my q1 pro just started doing! It has been printing flawlessly for 7 months and started seeing some very slight layer line quality issues. I print only in cf and gf filaments. Diamondback nozzle just released the new diamondback nozzle for q1 pro. It looks like the stick plated nozzle, but has a diamond tip. Now my prints are back to absolutely perfect layers lines, even under a scope. But it has these 2 toned horizontal stripes from bottom to top. They are thin on the bottom and get thicker towards the top! It is exactly as you described. The best quality layer lines I've ever gotten, but these 2 toned stripes that are inconsistent sizes. It looks like matte and and satin colored stripes. I am ripping my damn hair cause I can't find anyone talking about the causes or how to fix it! You are the 1st person I've seen explain exactly what I am experiencing. I am getting so frustrated AF.
