I really like the domain 4 player format and hope they go with it. Just being excited about building janky fun decks to play with friends feels and thinking of ideas to try out, it has me really into ygo right now.
Very nice discussion, I think perhaps we sill see Konami consider the OCG system. This last QCR reprint set will hit the last of the nostalgic staples (whatever's left) and it may just be time to make core sets as worth buying as those reprint sets. I've never purchased a box while playing this game, just buying occasional loose packs, but if they had a system like OCG and they make a set I like then yeah, I'd buy a box. The ideal scenario though is there is no more TCG, OCG takes over, our cards are cheaper, printed on better card stock, uncensored cards, pre-determined and announced banlists, no release delays, better structure decks, and no more region locking tournaments. I like Yu-Gi-Oh, but the OCG is like a tier 1 game while TCG makes me feel like a second class citizen. As for the talk about formats, community-wise the vibe is it feels a lot better now, and I don't think it's so much because Ryzeal or Maliss are so strong, but strong and easy. Most pros have said they're easy decks to plug into, while Trif himself has said it also rewards high investment with a high skill ceiling when paired with Fiendsmith cards. What makes it great though is unlike Tear, Yubel, Snake, or Kash, these decks only have a few cards really holding them up, so just a few banlist hits and they stop being a deck to make anyone good while still being good for pros. We've seen this as the decks have been hit in the OCG. Best of all though in between these stronger deck being dominate we've seen LOTS of deck diversity crop up, like in the last European YCS where we saw 8 different decks in top 8, or some recent regionals where even older decks like Dark World are making the rounds. The great thing about the new OCG card design in recent years is now every deck is getting broken tools to play around with, and as such if you really like a deck and sink time into it, you get rewarded. Even decks that were awful like Jurracs now have crazy busted cards. With the added benefit of the TCG banning oppressive staples, there's much more room for you to play the deck you want so long as it's been supported within the last 2 years (after that major bump in power creep). Lastly, new summoning mechanics are tied to new anime, and Jump fest already came and went, and we got no new anime announcement, so I'm not even sure where this came from. unless Konami decides to do an out of season announcement for a new anime and review Studio Gallop (which let's be real, Galllop will probably never work on Yu-Gi-Oh again) I don't see it happening. Konami animation is likely where they'll want to invest next. On the bright side, we could see a bunch of other cool new animated features beyond little web shorts. P.S. Johnny keeps upping his drip👌
The Domain Format video was amazing guys. Maybe it could be a reoccuring thing? There is no video on TH-cam that is as well edited and clean that covers Domain as your guys'.
Look I do very much hate the idea of banning the cards immediatly after they get re-printed. Like what was even the need of the OS ban at this point? The deck already was exiting the meta anyways, the diabell engine was nothing more than a fun little consistency boost to decks like TG, Fire-King, Infernoid and Reascue-Ace. Even if they wait like 1 singular list more to pass before they ban the cards, that still feels awful. Like this is extremely stupid, cant they just give us the OCG model? So we can get the cards actually easily with out waiting months until they get cheap, where they then almost immediatly get banned. Like I can already see it with engraver, engraver will get reprinted in RC04 and then they will ban it next list, so I will never be able to truly experiment with it. If cards were accessible in the first place or atleast done like the OCG we could actually have a healthier enviroment.
They banned the OS because of the same reason they mostly ban cards: they have sold enough of them, they're too old now and they need to sell the new cards, so they ban the old ones, forcing you to buy the newest best deck, till the cycle repeats in half a year.
I don't get why so many people get upset that they spent all of that money to get it immediately then it gets reprinted and loses the value when they don't sell or trade the cards...
can't wait to see what yugioh will be like in 2025! hoping for fewer new archetypes and instead more support for so many smaller/lesser-strength archetypes, and maybe also more different and unique archetype gameplay functions and designs/concepts!
I loved Snake Eyes. It was fun. Perhaps if Azamina would have been released earlier and cards like Baronne, Apollousa, summon limit and skill drain would have been hit earlier the deck may not be that hated. I guess.
Konami needs to give more official support to alternative formats like goat, Edison, domain, etc. Reprint staples in structure decks for these formats. Competitive yugioh is in a fine spot, but they want to turn more casual players (like myself) into players that MIGHT be interested in modern, but they’re turned away by price tags. These formats are the best gateway for this. It’s the approach Blizzard is using with Classic World of Warcraft. It’s great for both the fans and the company.
I hope konami considers doing more reprints for staples if they dont do more rarities for each set cause that way atleast even the less competitive players can enjoy the game leisurely. Not sure about other locals but mine has more competitive players with meta decks so the staples are much needed to keep up.
I'm not a TCG player, but overall it seems like outside of the ridiculous price tag the game looks healthier than the year prior. The latest OCG report looked amazing too (Primite BE looks super fun). For master duel, i hope that Maxx C that just went to 2 eventually gets banned, and that Baronne, Appolousa, Shifter bite the dust as well. (+Floodgates too) As for unhits, i'd like to see spright come back, (and i'm a runick enjoyer too so i'd like unlimits).
In the next video you guys duel one another, one of you should put (Convulsions of Nature) in your deck. What this card does is actually pretty useless but super cool it flips both decks upside down. 😂 basically you both can see what each other draws ahead of time.
Yes, Ruch into the west would be wonderful, and fix so many problems like the deletion of Speed Duel or the more YugiBoomer type crowd, or really just anyone who likes Yu-Gi-Oh but feels disconnected from the game rn.
I think Konami should be less cautious in their banlist philosophy and do banlists more often. They seem to listen to the playerbase more than they used to, however, often bans come „too late“ or they „could’ve done more“. If they had a similar release schedule to MD they could make braver choices and „test the waters“. For instance if they do smaller (un-)banlists every 6 weeks or so they could time it in a way where it doesnt impact the most important tournaments (nationals, continentals) right away but instead have a tryout period for spicier unbans/hits. MD recently unbanned Knightmare Mermaid & Master Peace, which, albeit not seeing significant competitive play in MD, haven’t been unbanned in the recent TCG list. If they shorter banlist cycles, they could much quicker follow suit & unban popular, older cards to create more variety which could also bring back casuals to the local scene.
i hate the weird...almost baby pokemon/megaman look theyre doing with everything. and that instead of just making regular cards they just make more weird extra long effect cards. and its just not fun. even competitively. like im fine with using swordsoul. etc. but i never wanted to play it in the first place. you just have to. its not like needing pot of greed. its like oh every card needs to be specific? as most if not all people who arnt a meta critic have said its just solitare, and needs to go back to a 2010 standard. that should be as high as power level should go. if theyre gonna ban pot of greed they should ban everything you guys have mentioned in this video. it feels like you guys are tiptoeing around just calling the game ass right now ever since 5 D's.
Put the time cap lower and limit the amount of summons per turn. No more do everything i can in one turn and take 440 ish seconds bringing out a board of 4 negates monsters and spells and traps. For some reason the goal is for you to not let your opponent play the game as much as you. Steel your monsters for tributes, lock you out and burn you 1500 to 2000 each action you take, lock out your zones and fill your board with crap etc. There is a different between pulling out a card that has trap negates and pulling out cards that stop traps, spells, monster effects and destruction effects then banishes everything from your graveyard. Its crazy. There should be divisions or weight classes.
Without even watching this and just looking at the thumbnail you either: 1. Tried to be click baity, which is a terrible look. or 2. You genuinely believe Fuwalos will be banned, which is hilarious but not only wrong, this card wont even be limited in any sort of way, the card is perfectly fine.
Ryzeal fun huh? I disagree I think in terms of the mid level player Konami is in a really tough spot. Supreme Darkness is a great set for the mid level player and that set is absolute garbage. I think the way to fix Yugioh right now is with a decent banlist. Ban DShifter, DBarrier, Lancea and any other lingering floodgate. Those cards obviously help no meta decks compete but I think they hurt them more. I refuse to play Lightsworn, which is a really cool deck, but it is in unplayable with DShifter in the game. Same with White Forest.
Ryzeal is strong. But no one is going to say it is unfair. It doesnt end on floodagates. You can interact with it. There is an argument to be made to hit some of these power hand traps that lack skill. Shifter as an idea is fine. There just a lack of play around. What would br better is if they made shifter into multiple cards like malcharmys. Where they hurt but there is still ways to play around it. For example one banish all cards sent to the gy from deck. Another might banish all cards sent to gy from field and hand. I personally want them to make trap cards more playable. And by that i mean not just in trap decks.
I mean really eo i have to listen to 1979 1967 or 1984 parody of a cardmarket..like the website (2004 tech) si the cast 1976...i bet you will have many viewers and fans 😂,good luck on that ,you need it unless you change it all 😂❤🎉,i do now a thumb down ,dont reccomend channel and hope to see you never again unless overhauled and interesting to watch 2/100 rating ,no joke 🎉
Honestly i hate the current meta to play litteraly anything exept the top 3 decks (that cost like 2 organs) you have to play alot of handtraps and interuptions

The things i would want is the OCG rarity system, and a slightly lower celing on end boards. (And maxx c ban in master duel)
I agree. I feel like i shouldnt be forced to play 15 hand traps
Well it got semi limited, so we are on the right track at least 😂😅
@CamKoudo soon (tm)

Glad to see an in depth discussion video. Could we maybe see a Ryzeal vs Maliss duel soon?

They should have banned Flamberge.

No mention of Rush? Id rather see that than a new mechanic. I would accept maximum summons in tcg though theyre sick

8:50 in what mythical wonderland can you get a Fiendsmith Engraver for 15 euro??
😂😂😂
I did look at my regional ocg price
It is around your 15 Euro
It is in poor condition and the language is Swahili

Support for all the underused decks! Print money Konami.
YES PLEASE!
I would LOVE to go back to ghost and ultimate rares!
Uggg. If commander takes over yugioh I'll need to move games again.
Lowering the extra deck is not the answer it definitely needs an increase if anything but it’s fine how it is.
Ban 1-2 rarity for cards. I want different versions so we wouldn't spend over 100$ to build a deck 😢
Rush Duel TCG 2025!!!
8:51 Where on Cardmarket are you buying your engravers? The min is 51, while the min playset is 55 x3 ahahahah
It seems like the OCG price was used by mistake... sorry for the confusion!

😂😂😂
Fiendsmith Engraver Info-Jp costs 12,75 as Ultra Rare, i think that was the Price they Pulled.

Man way to word for word APS Paul’s recent point.
yes cause only one person can have an opinion at a time??
@ I mean it’s one thing to have the same opinion. But he basically regurgitated the point nearly word for word.
bring back pharaoh rare
Maximum Summon
Please unban Max C so I can Deck out the meta with my 5€ Flower Cardian Deck
