The first NASCAR race I ever went to as small boy with my dad was the Music City 420 in 1974. I was 12. Richard Petty's colors back then really stood out under the lights. Be a shame to doze this place down because of politicians.
I can't believe as old as it is it's like the 2nd oldest track in the country I think I can't believe it's not a historical landmark. I adleast wanna see one race there they need to bring the all American 400 back
My great uncle was a track official at the fairgrounds in the 60s and 70’s. I went to a couple of NASCAR Cup races there as well as lower level races and met and saw a few of the sports heroes race there. I also saw ZZTop and The Band play there in 1976. So I have some great memories of the Fairgrounds. Sadly, so much of Nashville has been developed and turned into a much publicized and over commercialized shadow of itself. In the end the money will win, as it almost always does. But at least we had some great memories.
indiana did something simalar, but limestoned the mile at the state fair all for the casino in shelbyvill now I like horses but you dont take away a rare type of track that only 3 more are left and in the racing capital of the world, 3rd oldest track only to knoxvill and the milwalkie mile, now only good for parking and harness horse training and two races during the state fair, still there but they wont even let them flat track motorcycle race on it would be nice if they at least let them do that to keep some form of autosports alive, save the nashvill fair, we are loosing too many tracks as it is. they are the ones that built appartments 20 feet from it, and it is a historical landmark and hopefully one day indiana will return the track to dirt for silver crown racing. or build another large dirt track that can have silver crown racing on dirt in the city, just needs to be a half mile
Hopefully the fairgrounds returns around the same time that nascar fixes this short track package. Im already worried nascar will leave N.Wilkesboro without giving it a fair shot with a points paying race.
That's going to be up to Marcus Smith about a points date but What track that Speedway Motorsports owes gives up a date without pissing fans off. If the fairgrounds happens I believe Bristol every other year would only have 1 date
Hi Kenny. So what’s the holdup? Is it because they have to go through all these votes and why did they have them all happen by now? I thought we were going to be on track for next year schedule to be on for the cup series. Who are these vile vicious people that are just so anti-racing? You live there you chose to be there if you don’t like living there leave then how simple is that
The ones who had the final vote just and the former mayor delayed it because I believe open seats on the Metro council and also Mayor didn't have the votes/support at the time and the new mayor I believe wanted to review the deal and possibly make changes
Doesn't add up people in the area want it gone, esp government officials. This is one of the fastest growing cities in America. The revenue they are losing to the "other" Nashville track is substantial. The tax revenue off hotels, dining, sales and tickets alone is worth millions. The city is OK with plopping a multi billion dollar football stadium in the city center but not improving a NASCAR track?
They've got their nice soccer stadium right next to it and If they get rid of the track they can build more housing or something. A lot of them just don't give a s*** about NASCAR or auto racing
Fairgrounds on Saturday night and Beech Bend on Sunday. Couldn’t get enough then and can’t now. The people who bought near the track knew the deal. Tear down those houses for more parking and leave us alone. Get a life wormbags. Don’t come to Nashville and change it any worse than you already have
The new soccer field has been built right behind the front grandstand at Nashville. A new office building is jammed up to the main entrance of the track now.
My local Fair grounds the race track has 1-2 races a year anymore and 1 of them is the fair race. The track is used for other things like truck and tractor pulling and demolition derby

You and me both. Actually it could have been 1972 for me. Such great memories. Coo Coo Marlin, Marty Robbins and many more. Yes…keep NFS!!
Save our beloved Nashville Fairgrounds Track !
I love your short videos just enough to keep up to date on racing it’s awsome😊
Save this freaking race track
Man I watched a lot of races on this track some of the best all the legends raced that track be ashamed to tear it down
I can't believe as old as it is it's like the 2nd oldest track in the country I think I can't believe it's not a historical landmark. I adleast wanna see one race there they need to bring the all American 400 back
they are and have been running all american 400
Best race track in America 1 and only 🏁

Nashville doesn’t even have a fair at the fairgrounds anymore. It’s in Wilson County (Lebanon)
Hope it stays!
Thank you for all your Videos--Herman!!!😊😊😊
They should make it into a Historical Monument.
Who would have thought that the Auto club speedway, Fontana would now be gone?
Ahem. They've done it before, almost right down the street: Riverside.
So no, not surprised.
YOU ever heard of ANDERSON motor speed way in SOUTH CAROLINA they took our fair ground and turned it into a socker field . They call it progress .

We lost our race track at Iowa state fairgrounds with a promise of a little shorter track 😕we’re still waiting 🏁
Yes please save this track
Poly ticks
How many cup races did you win in Nashville?
Big investors are looking at the money
When is the city council supposed to vote?
Absolutely no reason to tear down Fairgrounds Speedway. I hope and pray good sense will prevail.
Really why that's stupid please don't tear up Nashville fairgrounds.
It's going to be about money for the city and certain people and not for the everyday people it's going to be greed.
Hopefully the fairgrounds returns around the same time that nascar fixes this short track package. Im already worried nascar will leave N.Wilkesboro without giving it a fair shot with a points paying race.

It is gone. They have Nashville Speedway off 840 . Go fix it and leave Nashville like NASCAR did 30+ years ago

Somebody needs to pay the governors some kick backs and keep the damn track open, if soccer can operate there so can’t racing to an extent.
Gotta make room for more money grubbing condo owners ( People in city government) to make that money.
Do you want them to tear it down?
Good luck with that woke city counsel...they would rather see it destroyed
You don't even know what woke is
@johnhaas2523 umm moved back to Nashville area from Colorado...I know all too well what woke communist agendas look like

Kenny, why can't they recreate Nashville Fairgrounds in California if all else fails?
I heard they wanted to put a soccer field there .
The new soccer field has been built right behind the front grandstand at Nashville. A new office building is jammed up to the main entrance of the track now.
Lost our track here in oshkosh wi. Due to the people running our city not wanting the racetrack here. They put up a stage for the bible thumpers
