I really loved this series, the writing and acting were TOP NOTCH. Michael Chiklis REALLY SHINES as Vic Mackey, to say nothing of the EXCELLENT work done by the rest of the Strike Team and cast, in general. Chiklis mentions in one of the extras how they all knew they were blessed to work with such a great crew just from the sheer synchronicity of talent aligning on this project, and indeed, we were all blessed by their hard work. Great work, all! Thanks for the memories!
I was on the job, going through a divorce at the time and the show got me through some dark days and shitty nights. No matter what I was going through, their lives were worse. Thanks for the stress relief and escape Shield.
Getting home late from work in manhattan, watching Oz and The Shield kept me going. It was such a better time and had I know what was coming, I may not be here today. But I am. It is what it is. Great shows, Sorpanos and The Shield. Recall loving The Wire but don't remember it
NO ONE outside of the job will ever understand the job. We're facing Memphis today and it's bad, but that's them, and we are here- as us... not them. It's like comparing a 7/11 worker in LA vs a 7/11 worker in NYC - they seem to think everyone is exactly the same, like a robot. I'm glad you got your fix form The Shield and I did too. I hope you got out before it all got crazy. We got your back- cause no one else does!
@@tdx_1138Ripping off the money train and taking a cut of drug money was immoral. Grilling Armadillo? Probably the most MORAL act Vic Mackey ever committed.
Easily the best cold open in the show, everything about it from how it conveys Vic unraveling to the pure dark humor of Dutch's reaction to the arm is just perfection.
@@CheerfullyCynical829 The Wire had better writing but I enjoyed the Shield way more. Only took 2 weeks to finish it while The Wire took me 2 months since the show was very slow.
Vic ####ed EVERYONE in the end. And he'll be able to live with himself because he's a narcissistic and some other mental issues thrown in. A good guy who does horrible things or a horrible guy who does some good things. I dunno. I do know it was a GREAT series
I understand that, it’s kinda like “how’re they not caught yet?” Or some scenes just are so unrealistic but it’s a tv drama at the same time. Whereas the wire has all the glory of being dramatic and your wise ass detectives but the themes and concepts are real. Hey checkout this show called “SouthLand” that isn’t talked about enough. You’ll love it if you love those, most realistic/interesting cop show I’ve ever seen in my life
Awesome list, actually got me to finally watch the Wire. I'd only minorly adjust: 1. The Shield 2. Better Call Saul 3. Breaking Bad 4. The Wire 5. Buffy
@@kdizzle901 True, season 4 was the weakest season of all, but I still liked the series much more than Buffy. it was darker and more serious. And Wolfram & Hart was very cool as an opponent

Desde Argentina 🇦🇷 viendo por 4cuarta vez la serie concuerdo que es una intro espectacular. . . Es exelente
Same here, 4th time for me also 😁 Just finished season 5 moments ago. I am so sad that here where I live (Poland) this show got kinda forgotten.
There’s a lot of great opening and closing montages

love how lem looks vic while he's grilling armadillo. He was the purest character of the show.
There was nothing impure about grilling this evil animal.
Lem took whatever morality was left in the Strike team with him.
He had the right idea burning the money. Could have saved them.

Best intro ever 😄
absolutely the best show ever
Vic failing with the washing machine was funny.

The Shield>The Wire>The Sopranos, BEST SERIES EVER, no discussion.

I tried Soprano, the first 5 episodes but it didnt catch me.
Sometimes I wonder if people drive by that house, they could still hear all the screaming after all these years.
Vic and Hiesenberg should team up
Best intro
They do not make shows like this classic I wish they could bring this back with all the cast members
Best scene
Michael Chiklis looks like Dean Norris.
WRONG. dean norris looks like Micheal Chiklis.
