Hey bro I’m looking to get a new Apple Watch and I’m not sure which to get. I ultimately have 3 options: get a series 4 right now, wait for the series 5, or wait for the series 5 to release and buy the series 4 at a lower price. What would you recommend?

Hey, BR! I don’t think the full-screen capable new Apple Watch watch faces will be available on the Apple Watch Series 3 or earlier. I do think, however, that the earlier Apple Watch models will get the others!
Nope. Only Numerals Mono and Numerals Duo are newly available on the Series 3. Another reason to not buy a Series 3 or to buy a Series 5 if you’re on Series 0-3.
You forgot to include the new Meridian watch face. 4 complications inside the full screen face. Pretty cool. Also Liquid Metal is new I think. Going from Series 3 to 5 so don’t know if Liquid Metal was a face available on Series 4 as well.
The new Meridian watch face was not announced when watchOS 6 was announced. It was announced along with the Series 5. This video was published well before the Series 5 was announced, so I didn’t forget it, I just published this video before it was ever announced. 👍🏼
FutureMedia The Liquid Metal watch face isn’t new. It was part of watchOS 5 last year and was available on all apple watch models that got that software update, but it came without the full screen style option for series 3 and earlier models. I’m surprised you never saw tha liquid metal watch face on your series 3 because it should have been there if you updated it to watchOS 5. As for Meridian, BMAC is right. Apple didn’t announce that watch face at the WWDC in June, and this video was published just a week later. The meridian watch face was only revealed in september when the apple watch series 5 came out.
watchOS 6 will be available as an official watchOS release in the fall. Only developers a part of the Apple Developer Program should be downloading the watchOS 6 beta right now. It'll be worth the wait!
The California, Gradient and Solar Dial watch faces are my favorites! I think that I will be switching between these faces from time to time. I’m a complications type of person and I think that when shown on the Solar Dial face are displayed in a monochrome color, can look pretty good and not so distracting, but I do see your point where color makes a difference depending on what complication being used. Love the video and the background music.
So I just got my Apple Watch last week, but it says the software is watchOS 5.3. Can I ask why I don’t have watchOS 6? The software is updated. And it is a series 4.
Any non-full screen watch faces from watchOS 6 should be available on the Series 3. Those Series 3-compatible watch faces will look the same on the Series 3 as they do on the Series 4 in this video. Hope this helps!
I am so close to purchasing the developer account just so I can have watchOS 6 earlier! Crazy, I know. Love the new watch faces, particularly the California one, Even if Apple opened the watch faces to the third party, I would probably still end up using the Apple's ones because they are so high quality.
Whenever I’m not in need of a haircut, I’m usually not rocking a hat! I personally bought an Apple Developer account to ensure I’m downloading safe profiles and beta files, but also because I am legitimately interested in app development and I am currently learning how to code. Maybe one day soon I can learn to develop my own app!
I didn’t know my watch series 3 wasn’t a full screen. And I can’t stand when apple leaves us out. Just got the 3 for the new watch faces and I’m right back behind the 8 ball again. SMH

I really can't answer either of those two questions for you as they mostly come down to personal preference. I personally have the regular Apple Watch Series 4 44mm Space Grey Aluminum!
Yes. One should not update their Apple Watch to watchOS 6 unless they first update their paired iPhone to iOS 13. This is clearly disclosed in the Release Notes of the watchOS 6 Beta.
You mean B2? B3 hasn't been released yet, as of this comment. If you're a developer, yes, you can install watchOS 6 now that you have iOS 13 on your iPhone. You can download the proper materials for the watchOS 6 in your Apple Developer dashboard!

I installed B1 through iTunes but now there is a Beta Profile released for B2 so I installed B2 for iOS 13 and watchOS 6 OTA. I can't make any guarantees dealing with installing Betas, and you doing so is you doing so at your own risk, but I can say that I was able to pair my Apple Watch S4 with watchOS 6 to my iPhone XS Max with iOS 13 without a problem.

So, what are the numbers on the dial outside the Time Dial on the Solar Face? The ones numbers 2/4/6/8/10/12/14/16/18/20/22/24? What is the purpose of those numbers and how do you incorporate them into reading the entire watch face? And where did you get your watch band?
The numbers on the Solar Face correspond with the hour number of the day... so 3:00 PM would be 15, etc. I hope that make sense! I probably won’t make a separate video for the watchOS 6 watch faces on the Series 3 as the look of the watch faces compatible with the Series 3 will be very similar if not identical to how they look on the Series 4. Keep in mind this is because the full screen-capable Apple Watch watch faces are probably not going to be compatible with Series 3. Glad you like the videos!

BMAC Yup. Just to be able to change the colour to suit your clothes or band. In my opinion, all of the analog styles should have a square face option. A round face on a square screen seems a little silly to me.
Well the California watch face is not really a round face - it’s only rounded on the Series 4 because of the rounded corners of the Series 4 edge-to-edge display. Regardless, yes, I hope more colors for the California watch face will be released!
@@itstheBMAC Oh yup I know it's not round, that's what I mean. It's the only analog square face with a number dial but it only comes in 4 colours. Seems strange they wouldn't have all the colour options for it.
My favorite watch face is to have an actual Apple watch! Probably numero uno in eastern Arabic is a good choice, but that California watch face in Arabic numerals looks Soo good!
I don't believe there is any limit on the number of watch faces that you can select from on your Apple Watch (in terms of swiping to change it and the number of different setups you have).
I see you’re still rocking the Ringke Bezel Styling. You were right, love the Glossy Black. New faces look nice. Hope the Series 3 gets all of the new faces.

I hear ya, Trent. I do think more things could go wrong with a watchOS Beta, though. That's probably why Apple hasn't started any Public Beta programs for the Apple Watch. I know several users who even bricked their Apple Watch because they tried to update to watchOS 6 before updating their phone to iOS 13. Reasons like these are probably why Apple has not yet allowed non-developers to download Betas for the Apple Watch.

California shows 4 complications in full mode on the Apple page for Apple Watch 5, but only 2 appear on the Apple Watch 4... On purpose ?

I really love the California watchface but sadly it looks like it won't be coming to the older apple watches :( It's there only on series 4 and above.

Can the gradient watch face use to different colors for the upper and lower part ala Hermes?
The Gradient watch face does not allow multiple customizable colors at this time.

Why does it show IIII instead of IV for the number 4 on the Roman numeral face?
Most of the clocks I’ve seen are like that, actually! Not all follow the “IV” Roman numeral for click faves. It’s quite interesting.

Could you do the faces on Apple Watch Series 3? That’s what I have and would like to see what it looks like.

I probably won’t make a separate video for the watchOS 6 watch faces on the Series 3 as the look of the watch faces compatible with the Series 3 will be very similar if not identical to how they look on the Series 4. Keep in mind this is because the full screen-capable Apple Watch watch faces are probably not going to be compatible with Series 3. Glad you like the videos!

Nice review of the new faces that will come with watchOS 6, I’m gonna have me a lot of fun playing with them when the update lands next month (hopefully...). Thanks for confirming at the start of the review what I have suspected since I first saw your handsome face when I was looking to find some interesting Apple Watch related reviews, that it is a mouthful! (or because I only have a small mouth, too much to cram in all at once, even though I would try my darnedest it get in as much as I could from the get go! 😂). The glasses add just the right amount of nerdiness to make my filthy imagination go into overdrive. Thanks again dude for a really interesting & informative review of what is just around the corner in watchOS 6. 👍✌️😃🌈

BMAC Yup. Just to be able to change the colour to suit your clothes or band. In my opinion, all of the analog styles should have a square face option. A round face on a square screen seems a little silly to me.
Well the California watch face is not really a round face - it’s only rounded on the Series 4 because of the rounded corners of the Series 4 edge-to-edge display. Regardless, yes, I hope more colors for the California watch face will be released!
@@itstheBMAC Oh yup I know it's not round, that's what I mean. It's the only analog square face with a number dial but it only comes in 4 colours. Seems strange they wouldn't have all the colour options for it.
My favorite watch face is to have an actual Apple watch! Probably numero uno in eastern Arabic is a good choice, but that California watch face in Arabic numerals looks Soo good!

How many faces can you put on.
I don't believe there is any limit on the number of watch faces that you can select from on your Apple Watch (in terms of swiping to change it and the number of different setups you have).

Unfortunately I think only the Series 4 and later Apple Watch models will get all of the watchOS 6 watch faces. The Series 3 will likely get the non-full screen capable Apple Watch watch faces, though - and, yes! I love the Ringke Bezel Styling!

I HOPE they have improved the messages complication on infograph faces to support prevuing the actual message same as calendar etc....
Not sure what you mean, Martin. The Messages complication, as far as I know, is still only an icon.
You do, however, get a number on it for the number of unread messages you have!

You know, Apple has all these public betas...give watchOS a public beta because I have a series 3 and I wanna try it lol without being a developer
I hear ya, Trent. I do think more things could go wrong with a watchOS Beta, though. That's probably why Apple hasn't started any Public Beta programs for the Apple Watch. I know several users who even bricked their Apple Watch because they tried to update to watchOS 6 before updating their phone to iOS 13. Reasons like these are probably why Apple has not yet allowed non-developers to download Betas for the Apple Watch.
