I had a total right hip replacement surgery October 2018, posterior approach. Incision was just less than 5 inches, and was glued. No staples. I did very well. Love my new hip. No more excruciating pain. 🥰

Me too. 18 days now post surgery. had to wait 2.5 years to finally get it done. So many delays. It was a nightmare. I don’t need a walker anymore. Every day I see improvement and less and less pain. Yes got my life back

Hey all. It's great to see so many people enjoying hip replacements. I'm a physiotherapist and a part of my job is to educate patients around the what and why of this and the rehab afterwards. Actually I'm doing it today. I wish you all the best life for you.

Had my hip replaced a week ago, up and walking the day of the surgery, next day more PT and discharged. Very next day, I was at my gym doing PT and playing ping pong without walker or cane. I am still amazed at the procedure and recovery time. I still have my staples in and will be taking it out tomorrow. I know being in shape made a lot of difference in recovery.

Piper Parker I am so scared about my upcoming replacement. I’m only 22 but my injury stems from a previous injury from 11 years ago

Hi i'm 30 and i'm waiting my upcoming replacement... ist 22 not too early? what your doctor says?

    • @kaonashi2392
      @kaonashi2392 6 ปีที่แล้ว

Freestyle Football it’s is much to early. But my hip is far to damaged to do much else. My only other option is have my hip fused, which would take away my pain however I’d have extremely limited mobility and flexibility in my hip and that’s not something I want.

The pain that you go through while getting ready mentally to have the procedure is not worth it....I would reccomend that you RUN to the surgeon and have it done.....I have had both replaced and thank the Lord each morning that the pain is gone and don't have to get through my day on Vicodin......

I was scheduled to get my right hip done 2 days ago
    but cancelled it...
I have too much going on emotionally in my life right now to be able to sink into recovery
I’m not totally disabled but I’m bone on bone
    I will get this done
I appreciate all the positive outcomes you’re all describing
    also
    have
lots of fear too around the procedure

i hope you've had your surgery and that you're feeling better emotionally. I'm scheduled for Sept 9. I also have had my share of emotional issues, but I believe much of that has been due to living a life consumed by physical pain. The hips hold onto so much emotion, so I'm looking forward to feeling relief. I hope you have found some, too.

I had my right hip replaced 3 years ago with this same procedure. I am so happy I did it. I had years of pain before I had the operation. You made the right decision. You won't regret it. Make sure you follow all the things that the therapist and doctors tell you and like the video stated within 3 months you won't need a walker or cain. Good Luck!

I don't know man , I've been running around on my bad hip for 4 years , & I know it's going to continue to get worse . I'm just worried about being allergic to the hardware they put into my body . I have been allergic in the past to different metals that were put into my body from other reconstructive surgeries I've had of both of my feet due to being born with clubed feet . I don't want to lose my leg just because my body rejects the foreign objects that are put into it from this kind of surgery . Guess I'm going to have to ask the Doctor if we both me & him can take every precaution we can by running tests on everything . Physically I know I can take on anything that comes after the surgery that's no problem , it just foreign objects in my body making me sick is what I'm worried about .

Mine was done October 2018. Right leg longer than left. Have a lift thing I put inside my left shoe. Most physical therapy places can measure you and give you the correct one for your shoe. I believe it’s called an orthotic?
