Wouldn't we get the best of both worlds by combining the "regular" MACD (EMA200 + MACD) strategy with the cloud (no baseline) from Ichimoku to filter out ranged markets? That way we still place our stop loss below the pullback rather than below the Ichimoku baseline, which as we've seen here is often too tight. And we still have good entry signals from MACD in trending markets, and we filter some false signals thanks to the Cloud. As a result we'd be taking far fewer trades, but they are more likely to be in a strong trend. If restricted to the London - NY crossover time period during high market volatility it has a good chance of working.

Use these same 2 Ichimoku and macd, but add a volume indicator and only take trades when the first 2 give you signals and the volume shows clear increase.

the lagging span it is!! you're absolutely right Genji because it shows us what happened 26 periods ago and if this level whether it's resistance or support got broken through then the signal to buy or sell it's even stronger giving you a triple A trade and furthermore it shows you potential targets profits so as a main Ichimoku trader removing it, it's a huge mistake. This video makes no justice to the Ichimoku real potential, beware newbies
