I know what you mean about a college town. We chose to retire in a beautiful small town where I attended college nearly fifty years ago. It is so much fun to be back and experience it again. I would recommend to anyone looking for an escape from the larger cities to consider college towns especially in the South. We have so many and there is always so much to enjoy. Our local college has an excellent music department so there are always concerts and performances to attend. In October, the college sponsors Fanfair, a celebration of the arts. It’s a full month of performance, art exhibits, writers, and others.
You are so right about college towns! What an eclectic and vibrant environment.

It is at the beginning because it’s been a long time since you had a date! You can do it! Take it slow and at your own pace.
I really enjoyed this video. Tell us a bit more about Oscar. I lost my two Great Danes, Dino and Diana, in the space of 7 months. On Sunday mornings we would go the the bush, and the moment I put on my HiTech safety boots, they knew the outing was imminent. I can't bear to put on the boots now, except when going to the supermarket where people tend to ram trolleys into the back of one's ankles. And, Beth, it's due to your influence that I threw out more clothing, and bought myself a second pair of Sketchers trainers!
The saddest day is when we have to say good bye to our best friend!
Oscar is nine and starting to slow down a bit. I have him on prescription dog food for his mobility and he takes supplements too. But he's doing well! Thanks for asking.

Beth, I loved this video. I am a girl-mom.(Two daughters) You have no idea how many soccer, basketball, and softball games my husband and I attended to watch our daughters play starting in 3rd grade and running through 12th grade. My husband coached many of their teams while they were in elementary school. You don't have to be a boy-mom to enjoy watching your children play sports. The camaraderie was especially nice among parents who daughters played sports, or that is what parents told me who had both sons and daughters playing sports. I'm sure you were a wonderful boy-mom!
