Master Chen is a great practitioner. There is no doubt for that. My only concern for the demo is the foot rotation while fa Jin. It could be an issue for beginners because the root has not been well established.
If you think in terms of cultivating energy for a single focused strike then the foot should not go backwards. Not saying he's not rooted, but it's more of an issue regarding wasted energy if the goal is to put everything you have in that punch from that position.
How do you do that in a fight? When you fight you are all over the place. You can't get yourself in a perfect position while the bad guy is throwing kicks and elbows like crazy or trying to take you down. I will never understand these guys who require some kind of perfect position and expect to win fights.
That’s like watching a boxer doing pad work and asking how you do it in real life. One way is the attempt at perfection. The other is how it happens in a fight. This is the most practical looking expression of fa Jin I’ve seen for some time
He's obviously excellent at what he does. Yet these type of demonstrations seem to employ video techniques to emphasise a power chain transfer through the body which appears to be quite physical i.e. using physical force as the main energy transfer. It reminds me more of specific Kung Fu techniques like one-inch punch, relaxation then dynamic tension and breath control for example. There is clearly more going on than what we can see, I just think the video tries to exaggerate an effect of physical alignment, body mechanics and breath control to give the impression of something wave like - like how waves transmit energy through their movement. I don't doubt it works for what he's teaching and practising. I guess every teacher and school has their own way of teaching and practising, with emphasis placed on different aspects depending on what students they wish to attract or what their students are actually looking for and training for.
He is simply demonstrating the technique of issuing power. You can see the kinetic force shakes the whole body. This is not some type of exaggeration or trick its just physics and technique. I think underlying your observation is a hollywood born skepticism.
@@symbolsarenotreality4595 My comments are based on my own experiences of martial arts since 1971. Obviously, it's just an opinion, so take it how you wish.
@@symbolsarenotreality4595 exactly, of course. I do value the insights and opinions of others even if I may appear to have different opinions. I guess the comments section on TH-cam is for comment, but it may not always be a comment we agree with or like. We can choose to express and share opinions or not, so I try to be mindful when I write a comment. It's only my own insignificant opinion anyway, although Taiji is a "broad church" that I believe has room for many styles, schools and ultimately different interpretations and opinions. It's not that some are wrong and some are right, they are just different.
Check out Wang Hai Jun for powerful fajin. They are the same age roughly so its a good comparison and for older practitioners i recommend Chen Yun,Chen Zhenglei,Chen Xiaowang and Wang xian.
Please with respect 🙏, may I ask you to remove the strobe flashing introduction ? This flashing can cause epilepsy, I was epileptic and wheelchair user for twenty years. Now I can jump, kick , practice my Tàijíquán again.💪 Please do not risk my health 🙏☯️ There is no warning of the flashing introduction but it is very important I avoid any flashing ☯️🙏
Thank you the comment. I will consider this postulate. But be patient and understanding, because a few more videos are already ready to be published with this intro. I don't have time to re-render them.

Compared to you, Master Chen has roots. Prove that you do!
Is that you?

Please. Why is the left foot is open and not parallel to the right foot ?
This doesn’t have the snap I see often in the Chen family.
Do you mean there is something lacking in Master Chen´s Fajin? Post a video to clarify your (false) claim!
🙏

It is in seconds, you have to feel it directly, to understand why his feet rotate slight...

I rechnen chen peishan, zhang suiheng or chen chunsheng.
Ktoś dał łapkę w dół. Może strój Mistrza albo kadr były nie takie, bo nie sądzę aby dezaprobata dotyczyła fachowości.
Fa Jin or Fa Li?
As i understand it one is a Mandarin word the other a Cantoneses word both refering to quick release of energy

Master chain it is look like the energy got lost form your rare leg!
Because she did not touch the ground at the moment of the impact???
.
I think it's ok, because only his heal is lifted. So the ball of his foot just turns but is still fixed.
The keyboard masters in the comments make me laugh...
