I just added a link to Support Raising Solutions. They are an amazing ministry that I highly recommend for their support raising training. www.supportraisingsolutions.org
I realized very quickly that often times just by wording things differently you get a very different outcome. Example, when I first starting support raising I used to ask people to "talk about what it would look like to give me monthly support" and that kinda freaked people out because what they heard was "let's talk about you giving me money". However, I changed my tone to "I'm ecstatic about what the Lord is doing, can we talk about how we can partner together financially and through prayer so that you can have a hand in the fruit God is producing?". People love passion, and they want to be a part of something of value and by rewording things to express joy, passion, and co-laboring you will find people respond differently. That being said, don't deceive them. Rewording your "ask" should be to express passion and excitement and to invite them into the value of God's mission, not simply to trick them out of money. To your 4th point, it is spot on. Don't ever assume someone's giving ability. My experience is that the wealthy give small or not at all and the "not wealthy" give violently according to their situations.
I am still in my third month of praying and looking for supporters. I am already in the mission field here in Cambodia but I started working as a teacher now I need to transition to doing a full-time mission and the fund or support raising is challenging.
Thank you so much for sharing thus video, these 10 hacks are very, but I must confess most time to mention the word finance in the conversation is always kind of difficult for me. Thank you for encouraging us with this video. My wife and are serving with the Missions Supporters League in Nigeria.

Hey Nater, I just started fundraising again this year in the middle of COVID. I think its still very possible to get funded. I'd recommend you read "The God Ask" and make a plan. God will provide as we partner with him!

@@PhilipDosa I think the part about not pressuring yourself, as feeling that pressure on ourselves can change the whole "feel" of the meeting. Also appreciate how you led off with trusting God. Thanks bro!
You should pray about how to handle it and take into consideration your relationship with your family. We have had some family be very financially supportive and some not and that’s ok. In the end you handle them similarly to others, but with a little more care.
My question is just how do you meet these many people 😅. But yeah God is faithful and I’ve seen Him provide for me in ways I never thought was possible
Would you share from your experience about whether you go travel to take an appointment by yourself vs. taking your wife and kids with you so the potential partner could get to know the entire family.
For us it was all based on what we could handle based on scheduling and family health. Tasha and the kids joined often but it wasn’t 50%. It’s just easier to meet with lots of people in a short amount of time without kids.
I think cross country trips are great! We did two and enjoyed them together as a family. It gives lots of time for family and fun in between. But that depends on the health of the family.
