    Story Summary :-
Op(33M) is the owner of a car repair garage and lives with his freeloader brother Jason and his girlfriend Amanda. His brother always comes up with crazy investment ideas and makes Op pay for them and the investment gets to ruin usually.
This continuous loss makes Op act strictly against them as they don’t listen to him and he makes his brother work in his garage to repay the debts. His brother reluctantly goes to the garage but always cooks new plans. Op is impressed by his brother’s dedication to the work and promises to make him a partner in the business if he continues working this hard for a year more.
His brother works hard for six months and wins the trust of Op. Then on his birthday when Op asks for his wish the brother comes up with another over-the-top idea. He wants to invest in an offshore company that is promising to give a double return in a few months. Op says he doesn’t have so much money so his brother insists on mortgaging the house and the garage. Op doesn’t agree with this.
Later the brother and his girlfriend start treating him all nicely and to apologize they throw a small home party. Op also mortgages his house to fulfill his familial duties towards his brother. But later he finds out that his brother and his girlfriend are planning to file a lawsuit against Op to get the share from the garage which was started by their father.
Jason wins the case and Op has to leave half of the garage. He then sells the remaining part and pays back the loan he had taken for his own brother. Op then sells the house and goes to a small town to live a farming life and finds a girl to love.
Later he gets a call from his brother Jason that the company in which he invested got blacklisted by the government and the rest of his little saving was stolen by his girlfriend and she ran away. Jason asks for Op’s help but he refuses and blocks him.

Never bail him out. You did the best thing by moving. And maybe while the brother is in jail he will learn his lesson.

If OP would have taken care of the correct separation of the assets he would have lost much less money, but if the brother would have come crawling back to me, I would have reacted in the same way. If you decide to actively harm me for your benefit, you are dead to me and there is no way back. I can forgive if people make mistakes, even bad ones, but premeditated harmful actions - no, I am done

Sadly, in most countries, parents always take care of children, even after they grow up, if they don't seem to "find their footing." And, unfortunately, most parents put the responsibility of taking care of the younger siblings on the hands of the oldest, regardless of age. In Hispanic countries for example, children don't leave home until they get married, boys and girls alike. I have relatives that have single children in their 30s still living at home. When my husband left me for another woman, my mother actually expected me to move back home with my children. I took a hard no on that. She even had my brother have a talk with me saying that I had to return home, I said no to him, too. They said I knew what was expected of me in our home country, I told them we were not in our home country. Things are different in the USA. Thank God!

Op was a fool!! If he really respected his father's legacy, then he would not have just kept funding his brother's nonsense. He could see that he hadn't changed and was still irresponsible, yet he kept throwing money at him. It was more about Op not wanting to stand firm, until it was too late. Which caused him to eventually lose his father's business. Being family and supporting them doesn't mean you have to play the role of a fool!

I understand their father wanting the responsible older brother watching out for the idiotic younger brother but I doubt that he meant to allow him to ruin him and the business. I think even their father would have let him completely disregard the youngest son’s requests after he kept squandering everything that was given to him. “Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” Unfortunately the older brother kept letting his brother fool him until he almost lost everything. He should have walked away sooner than that. I would have changed my phone number after I sold my house and moved just so I could be relatively sure I wouldn’t hear from my scheming brother ever again.

Jason needs to grow up and wake the hell up because OP isn't obligated to take care of his brother. If Jason wasn't being so damn hard headed he wouldn't be in the mess that he's gotten himself into. Leave your brother Jason in jail, OP. Maybe Jason will learn from this because now this is a true wake up call.
