That is truly awesome! I always thought SPM was a step too far for KITT in the series and seemed like a bit of a gimmick, but nevertheless this is very well done and impressive!

It was definitely a gimmick to boost flagging ratings but it sadly wasn't enough to keep the show going for fifth season.
That's the first SPM KITT I've ever seen transform like that! My jaw dropped to the floor once I saw the video! Wow! I bet Hasselhoff's jaw would drop to the floor too, along with other KR fans out there after seeing this video! I know they had already made-up SPM KITTs in the show, but one that actually had the parts pop out and pop back into the body like that? I don't know if they did or not, or if it was camera tricks, making it look like KITT was transforming into SPM & back into Trans Am mode..
001GenLee In the show, the SPM is just a camera trick. For the front bumper, a guy is behind pushing the bumper with his legs ^^.

3D Modular Systems That's not true. They built a complete non-functional car with hydraulic struts to lift up the parts inside/outside. That car was used for recording the "morphing" scene in which kitt passes from normal to SPM. That's why you'll always see the same takes and that's why KITT only do SPM mode at night in one episode.

Wow even the TV show didn’t have a real working model like that. They filmed some stock footage of super pursuit mode (operated by hand) and then pulled out another car for the scene.

First of all, a really great video and a super job that was made there. I'm really excited. But I noticed a small detail as an error: When KITT goes in the SPM drives out the nose, but stands out in the series, the scanner stands out with. Small detail but it immediately falls on !!
But as said real GREAT JOB !!!

@Isaac Cohen First of all, not being a dick or anything, but just 4 so u know, the car that was used in the TV show (not movie) was infact a V8, the did use some V6's here and there if im not mistaken, but the engine that was said to be KITT's engine was (In the show) a turbine engine (A real engine origionally developed by Chevy). So you're not wrong, but its best you know this about the pontiac used in the show/KITT
