Arc 1 ships: "the protag needs a love interest!" Arc 2 ships: "good chemistry but not enough time spent on development." Arc 3 & Ledgens ships: "when the sun hits this ridge just right, these hills sing!"
Fathom x Indigo, like Sundew x Willow, gets the benefit of having their romantic dynamic develop nearly entirely offscreen. Readers get a few peeks of their pre-couple bond in flashbacks, but they’ve had all their development by the time the story setup is done jumping through years. It’s an easy way to set up a romantic dynamic that needs to be established at the start: just introduce the characters after they already spent a lot of time growing their bond. All there is left to do is get them together and then the match is made. Nothing wrong with that, especially since it was necessary for the way their story in Legends: Darkstalker is structured, but I always enjoy a romance most when the reader gets to witness its love adventure from start to finish: meaning from the moment the characters first meet to the moment they become official lovers, with all the well-paced development spread out and demonstrated in each step of the growing bond. That’s a real treat in my eyes because readers can experience every growth in the bond. This franchise tends to go light on that with some of its on-screen romantic developments, but the ones that are done with care are the ones I enjoy the most. As sweet as Fathom x Indigo is, it can only catch my attention so much without on-screen development regarding the growth of their bond.
They are healthy, rereading darkstalker, i always enjoy them. some people may call them 'boring' but i don't think they are, kind of a nice contrast to darksight, the other ship in the book, Fathom listens to indigo about her issues and trusts her, Darkstalker doesn't trust or listen to Clearsight. i wish we could see more of them being parents, they seemed like good ones in the epilogue.
I remember rereading Darkstalker legends and of course I already knew that Fathom and Indigo had a nice healthy relationship, but I was still surprised by just how wholesome and supportive Indigo was!

This is like me and my friend who has a crush on me, I don’t have a crush on him but I see him as a brother. I honestly don't get the fuss over deathbringers age...its an obvious retcon and can easily be ignored or headcanon his age. We don't quite know fully how dragon ages relate to how humans age, so honestly it's no biggie.
Even if it does matter glory is by the time they will end up getting together legally an adult because she's seven by the time of Arc 2 and they aren't together yet
Many people seem to ignore that when Glory and Deathbringer first met, Deathbringer was described as a "NightWing dragonet". Also, I don't get why Deathbringer being overprotective with Glory is a bad thing. I always found it to be cute.
I just finished darstalker,I thought I loved them just because I just read about them, meanwhile I got flashbacks of clay x tsunami, realised that Fathom X Indigo was the best ship ever and confirmed it here and on many other ship ratings.
I don't get why Deathbringer being overprotective with Glory is a bad thing. I always found it to be cute. Also, wasn't Indigo overprotective with Fathom during half of the Darkstalker book? If that's fine then why is it bad with Glorybringer??
@@minecraft6829 Feel free to give me a page where he is even remotely "possessive". Glory literally did whatever she wanted and always silenced Deathbringer when he opposed something. He's just stubborn, that shouldn't be compared possessiveness.

Fathom x Indigo feels the complete opposite of Darkstalker x Clearsight
I’m forever going to assume that was the point

this is one of the best ships honestly.
There’s a reason why Fathom x Indigo is so widely considered one of the best ships in the series
Yea its my favourite one personally

Because death bringer doesn’t listen to glory, he’s possessive as opposed to just protective.

Fathogo's definitely one of my favs :)
Maybe it’s a good ship because it’s a healthy ship!!
I really do with there was a good ship name for them because just saying indigo x fathom every time you talk about the ship is kinda annoying
Fathingo
@@birdsareyesActually I love that ship name I’m using forever
amazing!
Can you talk about snowflake x snowfox . I just love them
what would their ship name be…
foxflake?
Most people I know refer to them as Fathigo
fathigo!
:D
Indigo only pretended to be his bodyguard so she could accompany him to the Night Kingdom they started out as best friends.
