I ran into Orin disguised as a guard, and then again under the Emperor's hideout, before I long rested. Orin kidnapped Lae'zel, and I never saw the kid again. Not sure what happened there, I wasn't even aware the kid had a greater role until I watched my friend play through.

I actually wish I got some sort of follow up about her after beating the game. Like you know, when you’re at camp months later and catch up with the others. And sure by act 3 I’d have a whole bunch of food stored around, but… ya know. She can be useful to have around, just in case. And I also love the cat, thankfully Orin never killed it in any of my runs.
On my dark necromancer Gale origin playthrough, I had no other companions except those in my party (only Minthara, dark justiciar Shadowheart, ascended Astarion), and despite me repeatedly telling Yenna to fuck off she kept showing up in my camp. I was close to seeing what happens if you try to kill her when Orin 'kidnapped' her. Unfortunately there was no dialogue option with Orin to say "thanks! have fun carving her up!", but ultimately I'd like to think the Cloudkill I dropped on the altar area in the temple of Bhaal and the horde of ghouls that tore every living thing to pieces got the point across about how many fucks I gave about Orin's laughable attempt at leverage
I had Minthara as soon as she was available from act 2. Also I follow dark urge evil path and I answered the same way but, did not get this scene for some reason. I did every evil thing possible and still didn't get this one...
That's my head canon of my first playthrough. Yenna was there when the Absolute fell, but since my main character had to run to Avernus with Karlach he made sure to tell her that they'd come back for her. Since then, she lives with Shadowheart (and another Tav of mine, of the 4 ocs that are part of the same story) until they come back for good
What bothered me most on my evil run, is that it doesn’t matter, she keep appearing in my camp and i kept telling her to go off. Then orin kiddnaped her and i kept telling her that i don’t give a fuck but the devs didn’t made any reaction for this so the game keept going with all dialogues acting as if i was trying to save the girl

And every time the kid appeared in camp I was like BEAT IT! And tried to attack them, expecting Orin, but I couldn't. So when Orin turned up masquerading as the kid to manipulate me, I didn't care at all, which annoyed the hell out of her. It was only when I got to Bhaal's temple and saw both of them in the same place that I realised the kid was actually real... whoops.

But now in-universe: Kid - lost and doesn't know where parents are, not properly dressed for travel suggesting you live here/are staying at an inn. And the first people you ask for help with a missing child case is this random eclectic group very obviously dressed to murder your local govt official instead of a local adult(if you live there) or police/garrison?? That is RPG logic at it finest. At that point, yeah, threaten the child so they learn NOT to bother the party of apathetic murderers with fetch quests
In one run the kid was Orin in my camp and fed me her cat. That was messed up. I've done things in this game. Terrible things, funny things and nice things. The Dark Urge was a fun run Astarion really showed his fangs in that one. Usually I prefer neutral playthroughs always nice to the animals 50/50 on the others. I equally enjoy romancing Shadowheart or tossing her into the Darkfell depending on the run.
You learn a lot about people based off their dialogue choices alone. But yeah, I'll never get Astarion simps. Even Minthara has better character development while being an act 2 companion and also while being a character whose alignment won't change regardless of said development.
