    Van has created a brand new word for the roadracing world !!! "SNIGHT" combining snug and tight to cut lap times for us all. 👍

    Nice to see back protectors “improve”. My racing days were in the 90’s when WSB were running Japanese 4 cylinder 750’s and the L-twin 916 Ducati. The back protectors a the time were similar in fitment, just had individual solid pieces, like your spine, that also moved with how your spinal cord works. Whilst still being light enough to not really notice you were wearing them. Great review. 👍😎🇦🇺

    Nice to see this pop up after buying one of these in the last week. When putting the suit on and using the snap on I'm glad you're echoing my thoughts on the reliability of it. It's a pain in the arse.

    You did a nice job explaining the features. That is one big protector.

    I don’t even use the kidney belt at all. If your leather fits which it should for safety purposes, the back protector should stay in place without any shoulder strips or kidney belt. Yes even during crashes it stays in place which I do quite often anyways. :)

      If the suit fits properly it will stay in place. - Van

    I have the same problem, Im also at 6 ft and around 155ish and I have it maxed off, would like it a bit more snug around the waist tbh thats why I got the one with the straps.

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You could also have someone sew up the strap to shorten it a bit. This would be a pretty quick fix. - Van

      same situation here, I wish they could sell the strap separately as a replacement part. so for now, I sew a male side (hard hooks) of velcro patch onto the right belt, so it could match the position of the left (soft) side. Easily removable if you decide to turn it back to original condition

    Can this back protector then attach to the support of the "Alpinestars snap on system 2.0" suit?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes there is a snap on the top of this. Personally I feel you are better served using the straps that come on the protector over the snap. - Van

    The Velcro thing up top snaps on like a button.
    Could that button snap be used to mount this into an Alpinestars jacket that has the "button" strap thing for back protector
    mounting ?
    (Alpinestars GP Plus R V3 for example)

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you could use this back protector with a jacket that has that mount system. - Van

      @@sportbiketrackgear Does the tailbone section then go inside the pants in a 2-piece suit?

    • @clawhamm3r_
      @clawhamm3r_ ปีที่แล้ว

      I had the same question. I have the same jacket and also the Tech 1-R race suit and being able to use that snap to keep the top in place would be perfect.

    How does this different than the Alpinestars KR-1?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  ปีที่แล้ว

      This model does not have any shoulder straps. Many racers (like Max) prefer to not have the shoulder straps to reduce bulk under the suit. - Van
