“I trust you with my life but it is not my life at stake” and “Be careful, kadan” get me, I love Stens friendship and that little confrontation in haven so much
Great character. Bioware could have made the most interesting fictional culture ever for their game, but without a captivating personality like Sten to act as envoy and representative of that culture, it might not have amounted to anything.
I forgot how much I loved the campfire theme. I remember recording the screen after I cleared the mage tower so I could listen to it anytime. I just checked my game music folder, and that day was apparently Friday, June 4, 2010, 11:37:34 AM. My god, it was over 14 years ago... And this is my favorite game. I was hoping BG3 would be the next one but eh, I'm in the minority that doesn't really care for it. Thanks for the video Robo! Was great listening to Sten again. I need to look up all the conversational pieces he has, because I remember him saying something fucking hilarious when you deal with the dwarf controlling those golems, but I can't remember what it was.
I'm baffled by the Qun sometimes. They claim that their mages are beasts who don't learn. It's hard for them to learn if they're treated like animals and never taught anything. They also claim all magic is evil. And while fighting tevinter for hundreds of years could skew that view, they have evidence of magic being more beneficial than harmful. Plus with the qunari capturing and taming literal dragons it cant be that hard for them to train mages and treat them as thinking people
Just because people have evidence of something doesn't mean they'll do the rational thing. Magic always presents potential danger of possession by Fade spirits in this setting. Sten's analogy of magic is honestly perfect, stating that it's like the sea to a sailor. Useful, but still deadly to the user. They decide to eliminate the risk by not letting it propagate.
“Kadan” can mean a lot of things. For Sten it means “Friend”, for the Iron Bull it means, “Love”. Context is very important for certain words of Qunlat. Usually the Qunari would explain their meaning. Kadan: Literally, "where the heart lies;" friend. An all-purpose word for a "person one cares about," including colleagues, friends and loved ones. Also means "the center of the chest."
2:35 ish is a moment that stuck with me years after playing the game. Stens beliefs and bioware essentially saying "this isn't exactly the most stereotypical fantasy setting" makes one of my favorite moments in all of dragon age.
Now that is not at all true. He actually tells us a great deal about his culture, his place in it and his crisis of faith. You just have to invest the time in the correct conversation options which are not very difficult to discover.
She does flirt with him, teasing him mostly. Then he plays reverse uno on her. If you haven’t seen it I recommend. Complete left field from Stens usual attitude. He actually left Morrigan speechless and she’s usually the word savage of the group.
If perchance series is allowed to continue past the train wreck that is Veilguard..... It would be very interesting to see Tasha butt heads both literally and figuratively with Sten who last I checked is now Arishok.
Not that it matters really, veilguard doesn't have a way of carrying your decisions from nor to other games so having Taash embrace the Qun or the Lords of Fortune doesn't have any consequence
@@nuru889 well to be fair that's an easy fix. They either update the dragon age keep to include Veilguard or make some allowances for it in game for the next one. You know after they fire the current staff and hire some people based on skill as opposed to DEI

Well The Qun Is Now So Inrredimible Evil That I Fear For Sten.
@@rinokumura7371I mean from what Sten said the Qun has always been irredeemably evil
4:00 is literally the most wholesome part of the entire game and you can’t change my mind
Sten and Arishok best Qunari, never forget my brothers in Christ.
I am here to heal my heart, I didn't expect to rekindle my desire to replay the older classics once more.
And I shall!
Sten! Rip his arms off! 😂 gets me every time
1:24 the soundtrack kicking in here always gives me chills. Sten found both friendship and hope in that moment

Favorite Dragon Age companion.
And what a voice...
I'm pretty sure that's Mathew Mercer (Levi from AoT, Ganondorf TotK, etc)
Did Sten call the warden Kadan like The Iron bull. Meaning my heart😧😦

I like choosing to travel with Sten, would've made a great adventure, I bet.
Thanks for the Sten walkthrough, pretty much covered every thing, any way good job and thanks 👍👍👍
Sorry but the “It’ll never see this coming.” Response was always the most hilarious dialogue in the game
It’s not the stens place to teach of the Qun yet it’s from him that I admire it completely and want to know more.
Callow ; young and inexperienced.
And then we have Iron bull in Inquisition, and the only thing he talks about is sex

@DeadTechno22 I have seen it, it's so funny
Thank you man!!
Also damm!! I forgot how sick his burns were. I love his dry humor.
Not being able to romance this man is a crime :(
