Hey Ola, thank you so much for this wonderful clinic and your kind words. I absolutely loved playing your Solar guitar!! Having you as a fellow camper there would be awesome 🤘🏼
Mattias seems like such an incredible person. You can see a glowing aurora around him when he speaks about music. That Ola is also pretty f'ing awesome as well =) Two immensely inspirational guitar players and human beings.
It was great meeting you there Ola!!!!!! Thank God I made it in time and could give you some goodies for Y'all!! 🤘🤪 Finally got to play some Solar guitars and just have an amazing time with the fellow campers! We all needed it so much!!! Thank you!
That looked like a very cool portable PA and stage setup with what appeared to be excellent sound during 'Cringy AF.' Mattias seems to have put on a terrific and terrifically well organized event! Must be a lot of work to pull it off so seemingly easily and casually 👍👍
I remember playing Quake 3 and listening to slipknot in my bedroom. I played all day and night man. I ditched all of my friends for that lifestyle bc Nike of them were into gaming and metal. Lol
@@chrisking6695 I'm kinda mad Quake doesn't get much recognition these days, one of the most important videogames in history, set the standard for playing online, started e-sports and just kicked fuckin' ass. I still to this day from time to time throw a little lan party with a couple old friends and we just play Q3 Arena and the OG Quake for like a whole weekend, while blasting early 90s death metal, it's a good fuggin time man. Then we sleep like 4 hours and go to work on monday with bloodshot eyes and hunched backs, still worth it lol.
As a Freak Guitar Camper for 12 years and then another 10 years working with the camp, I can assure you that it is good fun and it definitely works out even if you are a bit socially awkward (there's always a few people like that every year) so I highly recommend that you go there next year! :)
@@MrGul I'd love to come to one of these one year, it'd just require some extra saving up first since I'd have to fly from England and then probably hire a vehicle to drive to the camp...although, thanks to a certain something taking away my status as a European, I don't know what that'd involve since my driving licence won't work there anymore...and possibly some sort of visa? Also have a good bit of social anxiety but usually not around 'my' kinda people like these wonderful folks :) On that note, I'd probably rather volunteer to help out as staff first because also often a lot of anxiety playing in front of people unless I'm more familiar with a situation, that and I love volunteering to help out, especially for stuff like this
@@nicwilson89 Don't worry about getting a vehicle, they pick everyone up and drive them back to the airport (that service is included in the camp fee) and Ryan Air flights are quite cheap between England and Sweden. As for volunteering, they've never done anything like that and IA runs a pretty tight ship with the crew so I doubt that's gonna be a viable route to take.
@@MrGul Oh, that's pretty sweet! Yeaaaa, just thinking out loud mostly. My old music teacher played me Freak Kitchen when I was like 10 and I've been hooked on Mattias playing ever since! One of the coolest guitar heroes that are still left in the world!
I think Ola these type of camps suite you. People admire your work and are interested in the other side of Ola. I bet those people had a great time with you there !! Plus when musicians like yourself do these events , it gets new players inspired !! Wish we had events like these in the states !! Such energy, humour and of course incredible musician. Nothing's changed there, clearly!
No way, Mattias Eklundh's guitar camp guest! Sweden's best guitar people. Beautiful driving scenery you got there. The rural roads are comfortably similar to Filnand. I thought you were saying it's comforting to stay in a hotel near the institution of mental health so if you feel troubled, you have short distance to help! I've had exactly the same thoughts about many things including guitar camp. "I don't dare, people there are amazing and I'm just a hobbyist and I wouldn't fit there anyways" or something.
At 2:26 Lake Vättern. Nice scenerey I’ve driven many times while caravaning from Finland to Europe. Quite long lake - over 120 km or so? Good memories!
