I never was a fan of the Prowler, but it was fun seeing an old school installation. Brings back great memories of all the radios I installed for friends, family, and co-workers back in the 80's and 90's. Thanks guys!😂
@mikex6846 Strapping an Autmometer tach to the steering column was really cool back in the 80's. At the time the Prowler was made, the factory didn't always include a tach, and if they did it was molded into the rest of the gauges. So putting a tach on the column was really bizarre. I can only assume it was a nod to an earlier generation of hot rodders.
LOL! This takes me back. One of my billiard friends up in the Seattle area owns a Prowler. I remember him driving down to the Oregon Coast for our bi-annual pool tournaments and everyone in the small town would double-take seeing it drive down the main street. Definitely a quirky car!
I would love to see more small episodes just showing what you do in a day. More installs basically. even if its just a radio, or speaker, or whatever. I know you usually feature the really expensive builds. but yeah.
I would think the Pioneer SPH-10BT would be a great head unit for situations like this. The pull out cradle for your phone would give you a small screen for nav when needed but it would work fine just as a regular headunit.
Such a nice looking car. If they didn't have that rental car interior quality and the miserable LH drivetrain, it would have been something really special.
What if the customer was keen on a screen? How would you wire up a Sony XAV 8000 series into something older? Like a 95 Ford? I can NOT get this thing to come on. 😂
I wonder how many times a customer initially says they don’t want steering wheel controls maintained and then regret spending the extra few dollars to keep them, especially in a car where the controls are down low like in this Prowler?
One of the most disappointing cars to get into. Design 💯 parts used -100 Also that is a terrible place to put a microphone. It can be blocked while the steering wheel is being turned which results in choppy audio on the phone call on the opposite end.
The spokes on the steering wheel won't prevent sound from reaching the mic. This is the most ideal location for a mic considering the car is a convertible and the plastics are brittle and they don't want to damage a car where parts are near impossible to find.

Never a fan of the Prowler?? Wouldn't know why.
The steering column mounted tach is OEM.
Yep, all factory yet they decided to give it an aftermarket look that was cool at the time. Lol
@@JasonWW2000 I never thought, "aftermarket" anything about the Prowler.

@@JasonWW2000 Never the less, it's not "strapped" to the column and does not in ANY form diminish the esthetics.
@@mikex6846i honestly don't know if you understand what i'm saying.
Oh those 90s dodge radio memories. All those memories of the narrow door opening and the wobbly kits lol 😂
Have no idea what that means.

Yep and STILL gets the attention today !!
Nice to see a simple install for a change. Bit of a history lesson also.

PROWLER WERE ALWAYS COOL, BUT MAN YOU MAKE ME FEEL OLD DOING A 90/00S MOPAR RADIO. I MISS BEING AN INSTALLER.
I think I saw this guy driving in Clearwater the other day. Purple prowler gets your attention.
A simple install yet again made look easy by the wizard!
That was an easy install and that’s a nice looking car
Love the front bumper delete

A Chrysler dash kit, the nightmares of my youth
Dean talks about it being an old car. It still has steering wheel controls 😂 old cars to me have wind up windows and no air bags
My neighbor had a Prowler👍
I always wanted a prowler, its so unique and just looks great, I'm sure its not practical though.
Didn't Dave " The Fishman" Rimera do one back in the day with a 42" TV in the back?
When installa were simple the Prowler is back on the prowl
Slinging that JVC now, eh?
You are doing all the up grade. Now is it for sale. How 7 thousand thank you
Morning guys

Everything you've said is totally false.

Yeah, I'd definitely spend the extra $100 to $200 to have it all functioning. I love steering wheel controls.
Realizing the Prowler is now considered an old car… damnit.
Diamonds get old as well.
At least you didn't use that bubble kit. Radio always stuck out ugly far with that one
I was not ugly and sounded great.
The radio is crap??? NO. That system sounded great. Yes,....they have much better now a day buy that applies to ANY of the cars from that time.
RPM gauge in an Automatic car.
"Promo SM" 🤔

Should've been there so you could tell em.

Disappointing cars to get into??? Maybe if you weigh 300 lbs.
