Dear Phil Harding! I have missed you SO MUCH since not having a TV. A little boy at our Kindy here in NSW was looked after a LOT by his Grand dad. They watched Time Team together a LOT. One day at show-and-tell he brought in a bit of old brick he dug up from behind his Dads garage.. And in YOUR VOICE he perfectly said" I thought it might have been a piece of a Roman Wall" ❤😊 maybe he has dug up half of Australia by now and found the beginnings of life in the iron rich rocks of the Pilbara.
I didn't realise it at the time, but this show was really important to my childhood and the person I grew up to be! Its so different from TV today, intelligent, interesting and excitable people doing something they love. How lucky we were!
Just found this on youtube. TT Was my favourite programme, I'm generally so happy it's on youtube. This is so awesome and my new favourite thing to watch.
For anyone interested, the first two time stamps and chapter descriptions are reversed. "Tale of Two Villages" is first, followed by "Potted History". The third is correct. Doesn't make any difference to the enjoyment. Love TT.
Every time I see that beautiful gold coin from the moat, I imagine someone in a carriage or on horseback several centuries ago dropping it into the water and swearing a blue streak for the rest of their trip! "Stop the carriage, stop the carriage!" "We're not stopping the carriage -- next time, don't count your money on the road!" 🤣
There's an archaeologist that uses penetrating laser (?) via satellites, you can see outlines of ancient walls etc if they're there. Has the team tried that?
so, clickbait again eh......you shout out 'GOLDEN HOARDS' when the first one didn't even have coins at all and I believe that second one had no gold coins either...maybe some silver and even the last one is not a 'hoard'...a single gold coin is not a hoard (even though it was very nice)
While the production team did this for a living, the archaeologists all had day jobs in academia or institutions. Time Team dug Friday through Sunday, then the follow crew replaced overburden they removed (unless part of an on going dig)
I love what you do, and I understand why Patreon is your priority, but one commercial per show is enough, especially for people that watch the shows regularly. It is not necessary to do them multiple times per show. It is quite annoying. Also, intentionally mislabeling uploads to induce people to click on them irritates me even more. You don't need to do that.
it confuses me why you only do it in 3 days? is it a bank holiday? it just seems odd to try and solve hundreds of year old history in 3 days, or 27 hrs roughly if you count each day as 9 hours working. could you not do peoples gardens in the three days then the church in 3 days a total of 6 days to dig up as much as possible, or is the 3 days purely to give the video some "excitement". the show is exciting enough as is :)
You nailed it with the last thought. Condensing the dig into 3 days makes it more interesting for TV. There are lots of other factors that mean it can only be 3 days too. Despite what is seen on screen there is usually a crew of around 50 or more, with trucks, cars, trailers, equipment, all working on a filmed dig for one episode. Sometimes depending where they are it can have some disruption on infrastructure, traffic, travel and resources. Mick has said this himself in the past. Most of the time they excavate, document, film etc then after the 3 days hand over the site to other archaeologists.
I find it hard to comprehend people that won't watch something that's interesting and educational, just because it's not in HD. Must be a generational thing.
"They all wanna know who's got the oldest bit of Wicken in their backgarden". One-upmanship on an archeological level; everything thats wrong with the UK in one video.

What a wonderful story. What a thoughtful grand dad to introduce his grandson to Time Team. Maybe one day this little boy will be an archaeologist.
Yay for the Geophys team ❤
I call them: Earth-Hackers! ;)

So very lucky!😊
Love the classics.

All my favorite people in one video 😢 all younger, healthy and alive....miss this crew
You cant beat the old gang,as they age,so do we!😊
It’s intriguing that “Dive” is pronounced “deev”, as though the Great Vowel Shift never reached the village.
I'll never understand English an I speak a formal of it!!!!!😂
Wait til u hear him say GLACIER
If you think that's intriguing, listen to the Antipodeans, like "Bridge" Total vowel manglwurzelling.
"-dive" (deev) is how it would be pronounced in (modern) French, so perhaps a holdover from Norman times?

I remember these shows. Love seeing him again. Thanks guys.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Archeology meets community is brilliant! Since community creates archeology for future generations.🤓

@@UncommonSense-wm5fd I shall go hang my head in shame.. 🤭😂
Must have been filmed a while ago the sun is out
Photo shopped😂😂😂😂😂
Very Good. I remember Uk well, if you had a 'Lay in' you could miss summer totally..!😂😂
the way Mick says Aaarea is precious.

If you need cheering up, just skip to 28:48
Thanks for posting
Beginning looks like Tony is in the studio and superimposed on the background
Brilliant learning about history great more please 🙏 👍
They could have said "We are gonna have to tear down your house..." and that kid "It's Ok. Anything, Anywhere."
As a history fan the series inspired me to detect and i have found more gold in the last 3 years than they did in 25 years!!
AI and machine learning must be a game changer for geophys.
No gold, just a tiny hoard! I call false advertisement! :p
P.S.: Of course still love you guys! :)
Gold in the last clip 😊
Cool 😅
Is there a "dig" started by Time Team that's still active??
I always trusted Stewart’s observations more than John Gator’s ‘geo-fizz’. Perhaps technology has now tipped things in John’s favour.
@14:45 Stewart picks his nose and wipes a "booger" on the map 👃
The editors were quite slick. There are a lot of little treats like this here and there. 😂
@@jbtownsend9535 oh yes... about a minute later, the cameraman had a perverted frame-shot with the digger and her "bum", LOL
Look on Mick's face busted him!😂
😂 Love what the editors do
be great if they could remaster the older episodes so they can be digitally transferred well
Awesome.
Are you sure they're not in France? The sun doesn't shine like that in England. 😅
What are you talking about every English son knows the sun doesn't shine in France 😊😊😊

Might have been a marital argument-“all you ever think about is money-eff your money!” (She flings one of his beloved coins in the moat).
@@margomoore4527Correct. and Time Team finds her body a century later. Lol

Time team is a bit older than that sort of technology (and a smaller budget!)
I think it's called LIDAR. It allows you to see structures under dense tree cover, excellent for Central and South America archaeology.
This a TV series that was recorded between 1994 and 2014, so it could be up to 30 years ago, technology moves on.
Love t this
I can’t believe how careless the romans were. Smashed pots and coins everywhere
Sloppy little devils weren't they?
Sloppy little devils weren't they.
They shouldve all gotten dog drunk and made an episode. See what they dig up😂😂
34:36 what am I looking at ?? apart from the fingers x
I found a pound in the sofa yesterday. Eat your heart out Tony!
Isn't the first one A tale of two villages and the middle one "Cunetio" - S17 E07?
Y'all need to rename the title
Dive.....as in Grand Diva!
If i was to join patrion can you tell me exactly how my money will be spent?
Wisely you know what you are funding an idea or ideal if you like 😊
The pub
@@dannydyerschocolatehumuncl2418 well I did say wisely funding an idea
Milk, eggs, bread, flour, salt, sugar, tea bags, coffee, cups, plates, napkins, forks, and spoons.
But, only with your money..
So hurry up!
😅
I am wondering if the presenters take the majority as a wage
❤❤❤❤❤
Go ahead. Break my heart. Just be kind enough to hand me a few boxes of tissues. This hurts.😢
less three golden hoards and more, one medieval gold coin
My concern is HOW THE EF KEEP THEIR FINGERNAILS SO TIDY.
its a conspiracy!😂
Soap, water and nail files.
Wouldn't it have been just as easy to go ahead and harvest all that ripe, golden wheat?
I presume they struck a compensation deal that we don’t see.
Maybe more of a Great Vowel Movement than a vowel shift?😅
The title is a bit misleading, first two chapters and no golden hoards. No gold at all.
One day, robots will be doing the archeology
Only if there are no humans left.
Is Phil back???
We wish!
We wish!
36 mins in, still no "golden hoard." And why only 720p?
It’s from 2007. Maybe it was the best they had at the time !?
If they found more gold they could afford more speed 😊
I’m on 720p and I can see every blade of wheat and grass!
@@catofthecastle1681 see any gold yet keep digging

Just one cornettio

Would you have clicked on it had it not said that?
I'n English, golden hoards, and hoards of gold mean two different things.
It's a bit tricky.
Yeah, fake clickbait titles get an automatic downvote.

Yeah just better not do anything --- if you can't invest multi millions of dollars over five - ten years best leave it alone
They had jobs. The three day weekends were done so as not to interfere with their work at Universities and organizations like Wessex Archaeology.
I love this stuff, the potato picture quality keeps me from watching.
I find it hard to comprehend people that won't watch something that's interesting and educational, just because it's not in HD. Must be a generational thing.
