I just moved from Spokane to South Carolina. I now live pretty close to Puckerbutt Pepper, where the Carolina reaper originated. I popped in their store the other day to get some hot sauce and Ed Currie (original Reaper cultivator) was there. My daughter accused me of acting like a fanboy. Maybe she was right. I was amazed by all the variety of pepper seeds they had. I think that I may try growing some peppers here since I live in a better climate than WA. Thank you for your video's. I have learned a lot.
Hey Jeff, good to hear from ya! Wow, that's a big move. I would have definitely got a picture with him and made my daughter suffer through it, haha! Hope all goes well with you and your family in your new location!
This reminds me of my Black Pearl plant, it starts out green but as it gets taller and older the leaves change color. The Black Pearl gets about 18-20 inches tall. The Pearl first kicks out small lavender and white flowers, then the small peppers start showing up. I've got some plants growing in pots in my greenhouse. One of my favorite plants to have around, inside or out. Thank you for sharing your video Rusty
I'm really starting to get into these peppers and it's making me want to build a greenhouse that I can keep heated and grow in all winter. Do you keep yours going all winter and do they continue to produce? Or does it get too cold?
I just do what seems right at the time. Most of mine were growing in pots and the rest were in my flower beds, and I dug them up and put them in ports. Our weather has been crazy this year a lot warmer and longer. But about the end of Oct I started bringing mine indoors. My greenhouse is 7'X24' and I just 2 hang florescent shop lights with a heater sitting on a shelf with small ocelating fan in front of it. I usually keep it 50-55 inside. Its been up since 2008 and its about time for a new set up and maybe a little smaller. I also bring in my banana trees 5 at present, and a hibiscus that just stopped blooming the other day, with that is a fire Bush and a mandevilla that both started out small and are now in barrel containers. Ok on the peppers I bring them in and if they want to keep going I let them. I think I've got 3 or 4 each at different stages, one has a lot of beautiful peppers on it, so will see if it continues like its supposed to. I've had some go for a while then die back and produce seed pods. Each pepper is full of seeds, and if you look closely at them they sort of remind me of the bell pepper or a small tomato seed. Just try what you feel like doing and enjoy. If I get newer seeds I'll send you some. I just do it as a hobby and to see what I can do. Perfect example are my firebush and mandevilla they're supposed to bloom then go by new. I've had both since 2003, and the mandevilla started out as a small hanging basket. It's now in a large barrel and blooms every year. So I guess you might say my attitude is just because it says bloom once then toss and do over just doesn't work for me. Well this has really gotten lenghty sorry about that. But it's nice to have some one to share this with, and your enthusiasm and love for plants and growing them. I guess that's what got me hooked on your channel. Going to buzzz for now. Any more questions please feel free to ask or send via messenger. Take care and stay safe out there, best always Rusty
Great looking, strong stout buggers! I think you are right about the purpling of some of the top leaves due to high light concentration. Yours look much better than mine did at that length of time, probably partly because I did not fertilize at all until I up-potted them. You're doing GREAT!
Thanks, Charles! I think a lot of the good growth is due to all the light and heat in the grow tent. The combination is creating a beautiful environment for growing any light and heat loving plants. Just wish the space was a couple hundred more square feet, LOL.
Awesome! I grew two plants last year and I’m trying to over winter them in the garage. I hope they pull through, the hot sauce I made with those peppers is the best I’ve ever had.
I think the color difference might be varying degrees of pepper heat density from the mother plant per seed. Wow, they grew so fast. Good idea on the 2 or 3 gal.pots since 5 gal. buckets (like I use so I can carry them outside later)would be a fail on space capacity. They look great ! Now I have a tremendous urge to go to my grow room and let the seeds and soil fly, which is a good thing but too early yet. Keep up the good work Kincaids!! I need help from the pros alot. 😁👍
Glad to inspire! Hey, Ma, she called me a pro, LOL! Hope I don't ever let you done, haha. We're getting closer to spring so that soil will be flying real soon!
I wished I can afford to have my own ViperSpectra LED Grow Light .. I can only get local bell pepper seeds .. but I can still grow them under the sunlight?. thank you so much Mike for that beautiful planting technique .. I wished the Carolina Reaper pepper seeds is available in our nursery store. You always inspired your subscriber to your amazing planting like Me .. more power to your brilliant mindset of planting!! Have a bless day and days ahead .. Cheers
I'm growing these in Hawaii, I ordered a packet of seeds, 27 were in the bag and 24 sprouted, don't need the grow tent in Hawaii, I make my own starter soil and going good outdoors😃
I was wondering what temps you had at the start.... my best guess is Anthocyane kicking in....it´s usefull to convert uv light into heat, so on low temps they get like a pullover to say warm hahahah and in young plant´s it also can accure when the light is quite intense and the chlorophyll production isn´t in full drive to keep them sheltered from uv. last oe is probably the cause but I am noo expert ^^ happy growing :)
These are super hot+++!!!. I direct sowed seeds last year (zone 7b, NW Georgia) and they loved our hot weather. They are at 1,500,000 on the Scoville scale. My brother, who LOVES his “hot stuff” asked me if I was trying to kill him when I gifted him a bottle of my fermented hot pepper sauce composed of mostly habaneros and only a single Carolina Reaper in the entire recipe. You’ll have fun with these!! The plants are prolific - you should get tons of peppers!
Haha, the more I hear about the heat, the more nervous I get, lol. I love hot stuff but I've never tried a Reaper pepper. Looking forward to seeing them produce large amounts of peppers.
@@MikeKincaid79 I can tell you - go wary!! These are SOOO hot!! Cold milk will neutralize the heat in your mouth if needed. I hope you video your first Reaper culinary experience! ☺️
Sounds good. I've got 3 ghost peppers growing on these guys now and looking forward to trying them. I like your idea of making pepper flakes out of them.
Mike, that grow tent and light setup offers so many great possibilities for growing different plants in the future. I wish I could justify buying one for myself, but other than my curiosity and love of growing things, it wouldn't be practical for me to own that setup. I just don't have room for it and besides, I enjoy all of your videos. The projects and experiments that you're doing are interesting to watch! I hope your family is having a great start to 2021! ~Margie
I prepare everything for chilli pepers, halapeño and hope for lot of plants Last year seeds didn't let anything. I will not give up bc I adore "fire pepers" 😄
This method I used worked really well. You should consider following the steps I did in the first video where I sprouted the seeds. I think that the humidity and heat were the key to it all.
Mike, my Carolina Reaper, Bhut Jolokia (ghost), and Sepia Serpent really prospered in 5-gal grow bags, and I am hoping that they will continue to do so, if they su rvive over-wintering. So far, most of them look OK in the dark basement, although it probably is too warm.
Oh, cool! You're growing the same peppers as me. Except I don't have the Sepia Serpent and haven't heard of that one. I'll have to check it out. I'm getting more and more into this pepper growing and definitely want to find a good place to store them next winter.
MIKE, great up date! me, i would pick the 4 best plants( 2 from each peppervariety ) to grow in the tent and if its not to early plant the rest in the hoop house/ green house or garden, the 4 that are kept in the tent would then become my "MOTHER " plants, thats just me though.
You and I are on the same wavelength. That's exactly the thoughts I had. I definitely want to keep some for mothers and eventually take cuttings from them. I've grown peppers for years but am new to keeping them indoors and now I've found a new plant that I'm really excited about, LOL! Now I just need to figure out what to do with all the extra reapers.
The purple pigment is response to the intense light, many peppers will do this. It's a sun tan basically. Not necessarily bad but you could probably turn the lights down.
@@MikeKincaid79 don't turn them down too much though! They like lots of light. I'm sure you'll figure out the sweet spot. I have similar LED quantum panels. Seems to me taking the manufacturer recommended height and brightness for seedlings + 10-20% brightness perfect. Your mileage may vary. The bigger they get, the more light they'll gladly take.
The deep leaf crinkle and red in the stems and leaves look like a nutrient sensitivity issue. Mild over-fertilization causing nutrient transport issues within the plant. Could also be pH related. I suspect phosphorous is the culprit. Nice video
Thanks, they look absolutely beautiful and are growing fantastic at this point. It really looks like a difference in genetics from seed to seed. A friend shared some pics of here peppers with me this morning and they also have some dark leaves. I'll look into your ideas though, thanks for the tips.
Nice video 😊 I sowed some chili seeds 26 dec , and the reaper came up yesterday so a little bit longer time than your 😅 wish I’ve seen you first video before setting them (I sat them directly in a root riot block) but I’ll plant some more varieties next week then I’ll try the fridge and tea 😉
Great job on getting them to germinate. I just followed the instructions from the Puckerbutt website and it worked out great. I think the lighting and the bottom heat contributed to how quickly they germinated.
Buen trabajo amigo, I also really like having chili plants, the bad thing is that I plant them and they take up to 2 months to be born then I despair and I better go to Wilco to buy some that are already a little overgrown,🤣 right now I have 45 plants of different chili peppers including carolina reaper, ghost, scorpion and many others, I really liked how you do it, for next year I will do the same as you , we really like to make salsa we are from Mexico where all the food has chili, my brother and I love carolina reapers
Wow, that's a ton of chili pepper plants! You guys sure do love your hot peppers. Thanks for sharing that. I'm having a lot of fun growing these and can't wait to make some salsa with them.
I had some pepper plants a couple years ago called Count Dracula. They had the purple on the leaves so much that the leaves appeared black, and the fruits, too, until they were ripe, then they turned red.
It's really interesting seeing the diversity in these plants. At first I was worried but they are very healthy and beautiful looking. I'm curious to see how they do as they grow.
I have 1 jalapeño plant slowly producing 1 or 2 fruits a week, 1 habanero plant producing 5-8 fruits a week,1 Serrano plant producing as much as my jalapeño plant, and currently have 2 ghost pepper plants growing leafs up and down the stem at a height of 10" for now, but they seem like they will be the most prolific plants within the next couple months, I hope I don't torture any of my pepper plants too much when I winter them in the winter time 😀 I will be adding reaper plants to my collection next to compare the growth rate of all my plants
Wow, sounds like you've got all the peppers you could want. I plan to overwinter mine as well, not sure how I'll do it yet. These plants are now in large pots and growing much better but I'm getting really small peppers. I think we just need more time and heat this summer.
@@MikeKincaid79 thanks! I'm sort of a pepper lover lol, And all my plants are potted as well, a few are in 2 1/2 gallon buckets and the larger plants I've got inside 5 gallon buckets, I'm planning on using coffee grounds to force the flower and fruit production by next month to get the most out of each plant before I have to over winter them, I also have been using a worm for my habanero potted plant to get the soil dark and rich with fresh nutrients for my plant, it seems to be doing wonders and not hurting the worm at all. The peppers are growing at a faster rate than others, and seem to be at about a 2" length on average. I've also been misting all my plants in the morning before the sun comes bearing down on them and misting them again at the end of the day, the plants seem to really take to the process
I too grow Reapers. In my experience I will say there is something to be said for a period of low to no light as it makes the plants work or grow toward the available light. In fact, to much light may (I said may) hinder some growth and I speak only from my own experience albeit not long but long enough to witness the process.
Thanks for sharing your personal experience with these. I'm learning like you did, that they really prefer less light in the vegetative phase. I've since adjusted the light down to only 100 watts.
Hey Mike, always happy to see you! You are going to have hot peppers coming out of your ears. Good thing you like hot. The plants developed really nice! Happy New Year Mike! Have a blessed one with your family. Hugs🤗🤗💜
I'm so glad to get them going well and finally growing in containers. Can't wait for them to start producing flower buds but that will be a little while I suspect. Good to hear from you, Camelia and God bless you and your family!
For sure! I love hot pepper too but not the ones that that hurts! I love wasabi....yum...I cry and eat it! Maybe you should do a wasabi series....just saying! Hugs 💞 God bless you too!
@@MikeKincaid79 hahaha, it sure does! I like horseradish too and I have some in the yard but it takes over like a weed. I also have turmeric....and mom planted some ginger. I have to see how that is doing. Cool stuff, I got myself 3 wasabi starter plants, received them 2 days ago.....will see how it's going to turn out!🤗❤
Right on, you'll love the light. I've got them on an 16/8 light schedule but turn it down to about 75%. This light is really intense and would probably do well in a 4x4 tent.
Great set of videos Mike! All the plants seem to be doing really well and looking forward to seeing them mature. I am about to start some of these as well and it’s my first time germinating seeds. I want to ask - how much moisture did you add to the soil when you first placed the seeds? Did you just wet with a spray bottle or was there also water in the reservoir initially? The water strategy seems like a fine line to follow in the beginning.
I fully watered the soil in the little seedling container so that it was fairly wet. I did put just a little water in the bottom of the green plastic container to keep the humidity high. Not sure if you saw it but I made a video about it here: th-cam.com/video/doeLh0Pif3s/w-d-xo.html
I like them and they do a great job but I'm fascinated with the ViparSpectra lights right now. I've grown plants out with them and they are super lights. I also love the build quality and the ease of dimming them down. Both great lights though and very comparable.
LOL, you keep getting things mixed up. You're going to make something out of them. I'm sending them all to you in a box when I harvest. Now I just need to see how long they'll keep in the mail.
Yes! Did you see the video of me eating them? I’ve never eaten something even remotely that hot. Here’s the video: th-cam.com/video/JVNuKEhFWQE/w-d-xo.html
Dark leaves maybe too much nitrogen? Potting them up so those roots can bust loose and grow will get em growing up top. They may just grow out of it, the dark green that is. Just a guess. I get really dark green leaves and lots of vegetative growth on my peppers outside and am reasonably sure I have high levels of nitrogen. I will be doing some soil testing in spring to dial things in a bit. That said, it does not hurt the peppers at all here. I get really good growth and yield. Good looking peppers!
Thanks for the tips! I'll look into the nitrogen thing. I wondered if that could be a part of the problem but I've used so little of it at this point that I assumed it was the light intensity and heat.
@@MikeKincaid79 Hoping to hear what you figure out. Either way they look great and will grow right on out of it I'm sure. Sometimes that nitrogen can cause a lockout of other nutrients. I'm also wondering in my case about ph. I think my alkaline soil and water also causes issues in nitrogen and calcium interplay. I think what saves me is high humic content in my native soil. I think it mitigates some imbalances. I'm still learning a lot, but so far that seems like a path to study and observe for my case.
@@bbtruth2161 Thanks for the ideas. The temp can definitely play a role and may be a part of it. I have the light on 16 hours a day, on a timer, and it does cool down at night. We have really hard water with lots of calcium in it. I know that it creates a more alkaline water at our place. I've noticed differences in growing with my tap water vs. distilled water, which is a more acidic ph and becomes more acidic over time.
Do you plan on transitioning those out side in the spring?? I took your advice and started some seeds inside several weeks ago . Fun stuff for winter time. Enjoyed the video.
Glad you enjoyed it, David. I love growing indoors through the winter. I keeps me connected with growing and gives me something fun to do all winter while it's raining. Yes, I plan to plant these out in my garden in the spring and grow them through the summer. I'll have to sell some of them soon though cause I won't be able to fit all 16 in my grow tent.
Hi Mike, well 1st happy new year and i hope that this year turn up to be much better than 2020 for you and for everyone else, 2nd i'm so excited to see your next video to see how these pepper plants doing, and the ViparSpectra LED light & the MarsHydro tent are super great (i can't even describe them much further cuz they're sooooo magnificent and super cool), anyway see you in the next video and always wish you the very best really, see you soon bye bye for now ✋ ✌.
I love this light and tent setup. It is performing better than expected and I'll be using this little setup for years to come. So glad you enjoyed the video, Mahmoud. Much more to come!
@@MikeKincaid79 thank GOD that you're loving both of them and i hope you another better version of both, thx Mike for this reply, i'm so glad you're benefiting from it, and hopefully for so many years to come

Id love to know where you got your reaper seeds. I have some that have been in the soil for 2.5 weeks showing no sign of germination. I think I need a different supplier.

FEEDBACK for you Mike....really like your video, but having a hard time figuring out where/what is the next in the series...I want to continue, but you make it hard to know what is "NEXT"?
Thank you for that. I started realizing that was going to be a problem with this series as I named them differently. I'll work on putting the series in the description and the comment section. I appreciate your feedback.
@@MikeKincaid79 cheers! Im growing reapers soon and it's the first thing I'm trying to grow (ambitious I know) but I've got a grow tent, heat mat, thermometer, grow light, that same green housing you had and the seedling tray, so I should be ok
I got 3 Carolina Reaper bushes growing, the leaves are turning a little yellow. Is it lack of food or water? How do I turn the leaves green again, make it healthier
@@MikeKincaid79 thanks buddy. Yeah I bought 6 plants from my neighbors and the bell has produced lots if fruits while the reaper only gave me one and it's starting to change colour. It's probably that I am new to gardening and also that I live in the Greater Vancouver Regional District of British Columbia Canada. ?? 😆
hey brother i want to know from you can we save carolina reepers seeds after it got mature for next season growing....i searched in google that its a Hybrid variety....so i am thinking whether it will keep its true variety or it might change to F1 generation
It will be slightly different due to genetic diversity. Best way to do that is to overwinter the plant you have in a pot or isolate the reaper plants to narrow the genetics
Yes, isolate them to avoid cross pollination. That way, only the reaper peppers can pollinate each other. The seedlings will all have slight differences but they'll all be reapers.
You are brave to even consider eating those! I made pepper jelly with red jalapenos once and did not use gloves, my skin burned down to the bone for days! Doctors did not know how to help. I could not sleep but to look at my thumb and finger they were only mildly pink. I decided to never make that again. I cut all the peppers by hand.
@@MikeKincaid79 They did not smell that hot but it is a real and painful problem I read something about it and I think they called it jalapeno burn. Lots of people end up in the ER or at the doc because of it. I can't imagine using a hotter pepper let alone eating it!
You should be able to use the same method as I used for the roses. Just take a cutting, dip in hormone, and stick it in a well draining rooting medium. I believe that you can also root them in water. If you root in water then you shouldn't need a humidity dome.
@@MikeKincaid79 Thank you Mike. I do have my cutting in water, hoping for some roots to start growing. I HAD a bigger cutting last year but a window got left opened in my office and it froze. It had a great root system going too :( With this cutting, it's having a hard time rooting but I'm hoping for the best. I started following you in Instagram so I'll take a pic of it and tag you :)
Awesome video. I have four Carolina reaper peppers from seed and they are about five inches tall, I also have Trinidad scorpion pepper, purple jalepeno, penis pepper, and chocolate habenero and regular habenero peppers in the greenhouse. What will happen? Will they cross polinate and make each other hotter or be the same
I have no idea. That's the fun of growing seeds, you really don't know what's going to come out in the end and you may stumble upon something new and exciting.
I think I actually learned that from the Puckerbutt Pepper Company website. I'll bet coffee works too. I believe it's the tannins and acidity that help break down the seed coat.
Your little plant leaves being " ribbed" are screaming for bone meal!! also recommend Alaskan fish imulsion as your fertilizer source as they do not like alot of nitrogen.
I bought 20 dollars worth of pepper seeds from pepper Joe's, 3 weeks now and nothing ! I have heat and hydroponic , natural, all hydroponic with heat , just tried everything and i only have a few seeds left . Never again will try to plant from seed.

Wow, terima kasih atas komentarnya yang membesarkan hati! Saya menghargai dukungan Anda dan senang Anda menikmati videonya!

Wow.they look gorgeous, I tried to grow ,but did not succeed. I wish I knew what I witnessed now😢😢All the Best 🎉
I'm growing these in Hawaii, I ordered a packet of seeds, 27 were in the bag and 24 sprouted, don't need the grow tent in Hawaii, I make my own starter soil and going good outdoors😃
Awesome! I suppose it's a perfect environment for seed germination.
Doesn’t over water cause root rot? Thought watering twice a week was enough
Depends on a lot of factors. I do know one thing for sure, I won’t lie to you 😂
I was wondering what temps you had at the start.... my best guess is Anthocyane kicking in....it´s usefull to convert uv light into heat, so on low temps they get like a pullover to say warm hahahah and in young plant´s it also can accure when the light is quite intense and the chlorophyll production isn´t in full drive to keep them sheltered from uv. last oe is probably the cause but I am noo expert ^^ happy growing :)
Thanks for your thoughts on this, Nathanael. The temps were in the 70's F.
Hi Mike great update, look so beautiful, a lot of greetings from Serbia-Europe !
Many thanks!
Don't let there beauty fool you my friend you need a fire department on standby if you eat those things. 🥵🔥🔥🔥🔥🌶️🌶️🌶️🧯👨🚒🚒
I think it’s a phosphorus deficiency, mine did it and once I gave it more fertilizer those purple leaves turned green again
I've got the same growing plus Scorpions. After I harvest I dry them then grind them into a pepper shake. 🔥 hot.
Sounds good. I've got 3 ghost peppers growing on these guys now and looking forward to trying them. I like your idea of making pepper flakes out of them.
I was always told that the bronzing is, in effect, a sun tan. For some plants it is the next stage to actually having the foliage burn.
Thanks, Tim. I better keep them watered well.
~Margie
Yes, we're off to a great start, Margie! Glad you enjoy the videos and I like that you can live vicariously through me and my experiments, LOL.
I prepare everything for chilli pepers, halapeño and hope for lot of plants
Last year seeds didn't let anything. I will not give up bc I adore "fire pepers" 😄
This method I used worked really well. You should consider following the steps I did in the first video where I sprouted the seeds. I think that the humidity and heat were the key to it all.
@@MikeKincaid79 God bless you Mike 😄
Bonsai Plastic Leaf LED Plants coming up! Great update Mike
LOL, they're real and beautiful. LED does grow some fantastically surreal looking plants though, haha. I love growing indoor with them.
Amazing growth! Time to have you start my cold crop veggie seeds!!
We really need to get that green house going.
The purple pigment is response to the intense light, many peppers will do this. It's a sun tan basically. Not necessarily bad but you could probably turn the lights down.
I think you're right. I turned them way down a couple weeks ago and they look better now.
Needs bone meal along with fish imulsion 😉
I'm curious to see how they do as they grow.
you are doing great work. i enjoyed your video and it's helpful to my gardening.😊👍
So glad to hear that, Pratik
And definitely no light at night! Leave them dark for 6-8 hrs and they always look better in the morning.
Wow, they do look wonderful, I'm also grow some of them now, since I life in Island of the Gods, Bali, I need no heat box like you do Buddy...
No, you certainly wouldn't. Enjoy growing them, Bayu!

I'm sure the sun is brighter.
Yeah, I imagine, lol
So what's your light schedule ? I bought same light, and seeds from puckerbut. I want to get started soon. Thanks in advance for your time Sir !
Right on, you'll love the light. I've got them on an 16/8 light schedule but turn it down to about 75%. This light is really intense and would probably do well in a 4x4 tent.
@@MikeKincaid79 thanks a lot Sir, I appreciate your insight and time !! Stay Safe !!
How often do you water w/80• temp ? I’ve recently started reapers & scorpions. I’ve got my soil mixture down.
I've been watering every 3 to 5 days. They are getting too big for these cups and needing more water lately so I'll have to up-pot them soon.
I have the same thing with the dark leafs. I do have the same light
Once I got them outdoors in natural light and fresh air, all problems corrected and the took off.
Good plant
With an intense heat
What do you think about the mars hydro lights?
I like them and they do a great job but I'm fascinated with the ViparSpectra lights right now. I've grown plants out with them and they are super lights. I also love the build quality and the ease of dimming them down. Both great lights though and very comparable.
Very cool video Mike can't wait to see you make something out of the peppers
LOL, you keep getting things mixed up. You're going to make something out of them. I'm sending them all to you in a box when I harvest. Now I just need to see how long they'll keep in the mail.

Thank you so much 👍
Dark leaves maybe too much nitrogen? Potting them up so those roots can bust loose and grow will get em growing up top. They may just grow out of it, the dark green that is. Just a guess. I get really dark green leaves and lots of vegetative growth on my peppers outside and am reasonably sure I have high levels of nitrogen. I will be doing some soil testing in spring to dial things in a bit. That said, it does not hurt the peppers at all here. I get really good growth and yield. Good looking peppers!
Another thought. What light cycle do you have it on? Possibly a temp drop on the off light period?
Miracle grow 😆
Do you plan on transitioning those out side in the spring?? I took your advice and started some seeds inside several weeks ago . Fun stuff for winter time. Enjoyed the video.
Glad you enjoyed it, David. I love growing indoors through the winter. I keeps me connected with growing and gives me something fun to do all winter while it's raining. Yes, I plan to plant these out in my garden in the spring and grow them through the summer. I'll have to sell some of them soon though cause I won't be able to fit all 16 in my grow tent.
hi Mick, I saw that soaking the seeds in chamonilla before sowing them, what do you think?
I used black tea and it worked well.

Thanks for the video.
You should never use clear cups as roots don't like light
Yes, I agree, get them out of the clear cups as soon as possible. I use clear cups just for the videos so people can see the roots.
Id love to know where you got your reaper seeds. I have some that have been in the soil for 2.5 weeks showing no sign of germination. I think I need a different supplier.
The Puckerbutt Pepper Company
Have you got a heated propagator or heat mat?
Are you giving them a break from from the light?
I did, and it worked.
Can this be done completely outside I don’t have any of this equipment
Yes, if the temps are warm enough
So about 40 days, we can grow from seed and sell. $10 each
Yep
I would drop the light down so they stay shorter with thicker stems
Good idea keeping them short and stocky. This light is pretty intense though and it may keep them that way right where it's at.

I got 3 Carolina Reaper bushes growing, the leaves are turning a little yellow. Is it lack of food or water? How do I turn the leaves green again, make it healthier
Assuming you are in a warm environment and there's plenty of light, and the plant is in a growth phase, it sounds like it just needs more nitrogen.
@@MikeKincaid79 thanks Mike! I'll order some and give it a shot!
Super hots in General do not like alot of nitrogen and my experience with yellow is too much water?
How do you make a weak fertilizer solution? Sorry, newb here.

Love seeing the progress! Will we see you do the Reaper Pepper eating challenge when done?
I'm getting a lot of pressure about it, LOL. Not sure I can escape that one now.

1 teaspoon per gallon.
hey brother i want to know from you can we save carolina reepers seeds after it got mature for next season growing....i searched in google that its a Hybrid variety....so i am thinking whether it will keep its true variety or it might change to F1 generation
It will be slightly different due to genetic diversity. Best way to do that is to overwinter the plant you have in a pot or isolate the reaper plants to narrow the genetics
isolate the reaper from other Chilli plants.... avoiding cross pollination...did u mean by that
Yes, isolate them to avoid cross pollination.
LOL, I still haven't decided but I'm feeling the pressure. Sounds like you got a hold of some seriously hot jalapenos!
@@MikeKincaid79 They did not smell that hot but it is a real and painful problem I read something about it and I think they called it jalapeno burn. Lots of people end up in the ER or at the doc because of it. I can't imagine using a hotter pepper let alone eating it!
Great job Mike! You're awesome. I'd have killed them all!!
Question: what kind of tips can you give me on growing a rubber tree from a cutting?
My seeds have done absolutely nothing. Didn’t know about the black tea
Yeah, the tea worked out great. Just follow this method and you should have success.
what kind of black tea did you use?
Just plain black tea. The name brand was Bigelow.
Can i do it without ghe light or Heat mat
You don't need a heat mat but you'll need a light once they germinate. You can also place them near a well lit window.
How diluted did you make the fertilizer ?
I use the small end of the scoop in the box. One scoop to 1 gallon of water
Can we propagate CR from cuttings?
I don't see why not. I meant to do some videos about that this summer but time got away from me. Maybe next year we'll work on it.
