I like to differentiate between a niche topic, a niche audience, and a niche solution for this reason. The audience is most important. It's not about making one as niched down as possible so much as finding the right balance between the three.
I agree with starting with your audience first. Understanding their interests and needs is crucial to creating content that resonates with them. I also found that using Boost App Social helps me to better on my posts, giving me more time to engage with my audience and create targeted content.

I just have one question, is it possible to have been posting for a long time, and then shift gears to focus on Instagram, with the same instagram account or is it better to start a new account completely? See this is something I just don’t get as I don’t have a niche and I don’t have a single thing I could niche down to. 😅 I just want to do life style because that seems to encompass all of it for me? I’ve just been recording everything and hoping eventually I’ll figure out what type of posts work best for my audience and what they like to view the most.

What are your thoughts on starting a new account? I've had mine for years and feel that I got stuck since last year, and was thinking on starting fresh with a strategy and being consistent
Thank you so much for all the helpful content! I am struggling to grow and have trouble with the reach, I’m a photographer so I mostly post photos and I’m really wondering how to share more divers content like you explain. If I give tips I will maybe gather followers but those are other photographers and I would like to reach clients not (future) colleagues (although they are of course also welcome). So I’m gonna be thinking about how to do that. Thanks again 👍🏼
I really recommend just making slide shows of your photos to trending audios on reels just to start! that's a great way to start experimenting and dipping your toe into the video space :)
Something I've seen is reels on how you set up to take photos, your gear, maybe how you find inspiration for your photos. I hope one of these ideas can help

Hi Katie! What would you class as a good growth?? I’m at 22% increase of followers since posting in July. Is this ok?? I’m pretty happy with it, and I know I can do more. This month my following growth is at 12.7%. My engagement this month is +47.3%

Thanks as always for the awesome video. Im having a hard time figuring out my target audience, because I'm an artist and author of fantasy work. I dont know if there would be a specific demographic or age that prefers my content. Is having "people who love fantasy" too broad?

@@annekostecki Ive heard a couple people say finding your target audience as an artist is a little different then other niches. Do you have an Instagram I could follow?
I'm an artist (jewelry maker) - I find demographics to be unhelpful too. It's irrelevant what age, gender, geo location my customer is because art and craft erases those boundaries. What I did was think about things like 'ideal place to live' and 'most loved fashion genre' and stuff like fave colour, season, animal etc. But the thing is not to guess, there always has to be a 'why' on there and that why will contain keywords that describe your work. So instead of just saying 'people who like fantasy' it would be people who like *your* style, then you're able to think about what else that person typically likes. For example if your style was very pastel and soft, you could say they're prolly fairycore, like English villages, that time between summer and autumn, strawberries, rabbits etc. It's basically stereotyping your audience LOL 😆
