really wish they would have made this video a play along. all they had to do was set out one more starting piece for you to draw and its perfect. i ended up taking nikkis starting shape and playing along anyway. got 121 points. only one square not filled out. i love roll and writes!
Nikki could have filled that single hole with her joker "do one of the special a second time" and scored 9x8 - made me want to jump into, but they fixed it at very end - phew :-)
Awww Dave! Wish I could subscribe twice now! You can ask me to subscribe anytime! Favorite gaming show ever!! Feels like I am hanging out with friends.
So short hair Lincoln 😁, not sure when it’s from, might be long again It was easiest to see Lincoln’s and Nikki’s drawing as it wasn’t drawn so lightly.
you could change the game and make it so the active player can choose 1-3 spaces ahead if you wanted to. but i like it just the way it is. less reason to groan at someone for picking a shape you cant use. this way its the dices fault and you can just use a power to fix it.
I really appreciate the quality of your top-down detail views. Nice and crispy.
I’ll have to add this to my collection. I liked the artistic fills and good camera angles. Thanks for the video.
That backwards opening between Dave and Lincoln made me do a double take. Love it.
Great intro Dave. John Candy as Dr. Tongue from SCTV was a classic.
Great game! Love this "tetris" alike games, specially when mixed with drawing :)

At the beginning of round three, the meeple started a place to far...

This was recorded when Ani and Sebastian were here last May and maybe I haven't cut my hair since then? I know I'm due for a haircut :-) -Lincoln
So, the scoring of a rectangle x*y where x isn’t the smaller side (can be bigger than or equal to y) is x+y(y-1). Indeed convoluted. XD
In the explanation of the game, Dave could have counted the 4 squares above his 4x4 square as individuals columns instead of a single row right?
Not sure why there is a die. The active player could choose from the next three which one he want no?

This game did not need to be called Patchwork, it's different enough from the original to have a different name
The name will probably help it to sell. Everyone loves patchwork.
That pretty much can be said for any dice/card game version of a board game.
It's also similar enough to use the name and make it sell more
too gamery for the end result imho
Errr sorry guys but at 32:22... 9 x 7 does not equal 51 hahaha!
(7x7)+(9-7) does though.
You score the shortest side of the rectangle squared, plus the difference in the rectangle sides.
