It is always a good idea to charge a battery before installation. That way if it was sitting at a shop in inventory for a while you get it back to 100% before giving it load
Whenever the batter starts to have a resting voltage lower than 11 volts you should charge it. And charging time depends on the type of battery, type of charger, and amperage of charger.
How do you determine how many rms your cars electrical can handle for a daily driver. All agm all 0 ofc.....Alt ×10 + AH ×10 =?????? Does that look right?
@@jaysonoliveira4752 Yes Sir, well I don't know about all day!!!😅 I just purchased the JP 23 amplifier, it dyno'd at 2,500 watts rms plus, And I have a mechman 240 alternator, (1) xs3400 battery. DFS told me I would have plenty of power. Haven't installed yet, running a 1,200 rms amplifier now, voltage stays in 14's I would safely say 3,000 rms would be fine. It's also according what vehicle, ambient temperature, loads, etc. That (1) xs 3400 is good for 3,000-4,000 watts in itself. Running (2) SDR 12's now on the current amp, at 1 ohm. Fixing to run (2) Skar vxf 12's, rated for 1,500 watts rms. Can't wait! Upgraded from 4 ga to zero ga ofc power cable. 8 ga on the subs.
So my system recently been acting up, my tweeters would go in and out and my bass would go in and out, amp doesn’t go in protect mode just clicks on and off but all lights stay on and my amps rating says 13-14v range but haven’t checked the main xs battery I have in the back, so I’m assuming my battery is drained correct me if I’m wrong, what can I do to prevent my battery from draining I have it connect to the front battery and did the big 3 1/0 and all is this a thing I just gotta do every once in a while or ?
Sorry for the delay, this could be your headunit cutting the turn on signal as well. If your battery voltage is dropping below the min voltage for the amp, usually around 8v, then they will shutoff

So is it bad to keep your charger on the battery during the winter to keep it charge? It’s damaging my alternator if I leave it on there even if it’s fully charged?
You can’t damage your alternator by doing anything to the batteries (while the vehicle is off). Chargers will usually shut off after the battery has reached full potential. If your charger doesn’t do that then you shouldn’t leave it on the batteries.
XSP Green Monster thanks bro.. I actually have the xs power psc15. But I only asked because I left the charger on for a couple months only to come back to it needing a jump and the charger says it’s full 😐 and I have a mike singer 270 amp alternator

200 amps, times 12.5 Voltage, 2,637 watts, still need around 50 or so extra amps for the vehicle. Factor that in the amps.

No, it is not necessary. But any battery will lose life faster if not charged properly. So, having a good charger is important.

You can but it won’t charge properly. All of the deep cycle AGM’s really need a trickle charge

Make sure it is in charge mode and not power supply mode
XSP Green Monster it was... is that a problem if it’s doing that while in charge mode? Should I check for any electrical problems if it persists?
