  • In this video I explain how to set up and use the TXAdvance Android app to coordinate wireless frequencies working on location as a production sound mixer. I highly recommend this tool!

    Very underrated process/skillset. I actually did frequency for a live venue (my church). The setup doesn't change much but it was not well coordinated initially so setting it up helped a lot with getting a clean wireless signal. This channel has so many unexpected yet extremely useful videos; the info you didn't know you didn't know but are happy you learned.

      Thanks for the comment. Absolutely, frequency coordination is the hidden hero of production!

      I am wondering - what is ‘intermod’?

      @charlesisrecording หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@LisaFly9 is a phenomenon that occurs when two or more signals pass through a nonlinear system, such as a radio frequency amplifier, and create additional signals at the sum and difference frequencies of the original signals. In simpler words, when 2 or more signals collide they can create more noise and causing interference with the selected signals and can overload your receiver, that's why it is so important to always do a scan on every location and TX Advance helps with the most difficult part, knowing where to put your transmitters without causing intermod. There's also FreqFinder (available for Android and iOS) that helps with the calculation of intermod, it doesn't scan, but it sure helps if you have a better grasp of what you're doing.
