We're back with another video, checking out which Silent Hill Game holds the Rarest Achievement out of all of the series.
We'll be looking at Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 3, Silent Hill Book of Memories, Silent Hill Homecoming, and Silent Hill Downpour.
We're going through each of the individual entries to determine their respective rarest achievement and will then order them by rarity to eventually figure out which resident evil game had the rarest achievement out of all of them. Enjoy the video!

God, I love silent hill. It’s a damn shame that this series was treated poorly.

I hope the remakes wil do it justice. Konami just announced one of the largest comebacks ever in gaming history. A fan favorite remake, 2 entire new games and a movie.

Apparently they don’t even unlock for me. I played through SH2 using backwards compatibility on the Series X and my achievements show up in the 360 menu but on the series x dashboard it says I have 0 achievements… 😢

I got the platinum on SH2 & SH3 on the HD collection. The SH2 10 star run was brutal.
I think hardest and rarest achievement should be one from Book of Memories as you have to play this game
Silent hill 2 that green spray achievement is hell .
As someone who has done the 10 Star Run on SH2, the most important thing is preparation and physical notekeeping. Keeping track of your kills and planning out where you'll save is incredibly important, as you don't want to mess up what would be hours of practice and hard work simply because you're not sure how many more kills you need. The boat section and practically all the boss fights are potential danger zones, as Eddie can take off a massive amount of health with just one hit. You should also practice the boat section on a separate save before attempting it on your 10 star one. Going for the dog ending will also cut out two very difficult and dangerous boss fights that ordinarily would mean more grinding and practice.
Yeah, I used to draw my own maps of each area with item/ammo/enemy locations so I always knew the most efficient path to take.

It was hell, but I did it - Eddie + boat stage combo is the worst thing out there, cause it was largely dependable on your luck :'}
I have a question about your 10 star run, did you do it on the hd collection by any chance? I have not been able to get across the lake in under a minute 20 the hd collection "rotating" the sticks does not work.
@@The80Kat I did do it on the HD Collection. For the boat section I watched a couple videos on TH-cam that gave a visual explanation of the stick movements. I also experimented with a couple different controllers I had to make sure I didn’t have issues with sticks on any of them. It takes a serious amount of practice and being INCREDIBLY fast and consistent with the spinning of both sticks.

Actually its easy to platinum Silent hill 3, I did it in a few days, the problem were the crashes this version has.
Silent hill 2 is way harder...no patience to get the last remaining trophy "who needs a gun" (green spray).
Grinding to level 70 in book of memories is such a chore.
I'm pretty sure silent hill 1 would be in top 3 if it had a remaster and i think the hardest achievement would be the green hyper blaster
Dude. There is a respawn point for monsters in SH3. You can just keep reentering the room to get 333 kills.
I want a Silent Hill 1 and 3 remake so bad. Hope the new one does well that we have a new era like Resident Evil
Ya I always wanted to play silent hill, and the new RE remakes are allowing me to experience those games with fresh coat of paint.
Silent Hill 2's green spray 10 star achievement was nerve-wracking, even with a guide. I think the key was NOT getting the other cheevos, like the rowing speedrun cheevo and the kill 75 enemies via melee and via gun beforehand, that way, on your 10 star run, when the cheevo does pop, you use that to keep track.

Everyone HATES Homecoming, but I like it, BECAUSE Alex (was/wasnt) in the military, we have a reticle, OTS camera, dodge roll, and melee combos, which may/may not be a direct correlation to the major plot point of Alex's story, also, I firmly believe that HC takes place in the SH1 movie timeline, which is why Pyrimad Head is there, no real connection, he's just "there" BUT, with the context of a certain ending, it might explain why he is there, not saying any more, yall gotta do the research
Nobody in Silent Hill 2 was able to see Pyramid Head except James for a very specific reason. The same reason nobody before him or after him could until Christoph Gans left his grubby fingerprints all over this IP with his shitty movie. Now pyramid head= a silent hill make bc for some reason, game publishers insist on having a “mascot” for the series because we the audience are too stupid to know we’re playing a silent hill game without seeing that red pyramid thing on the cover

@@EraVulgarity a lot of the issue is that the silent hill fan base is one of the most toxic in gaming. And they put these mid games on a pedestal where they don’t belong. And then Konami putting Blooberteam behind the remake Konami is truely braindead
"If you're a casual fan of Silent Hill then you've likely never heard of (Book of Memories)". And therein lies the irony. This game was made for no one.
It was like a casual teenage romp built from the corpse of a dying franchise. It was a spit in the face to Silent Hill fans at the time, yet unappealing to anyone else.

Rarest achievement in Book of Memories is the one you get for giving it a positive review.
first 2 are games people hated. silent hill 3 hd was a prototype of the actual game and so was silent hill 2 hd. i just recall hearing they lost the game data and used a prototype or beta version of it.
SH3 is just a grind achievement, not that hard, just patience
The only achievement I got on this list is the Silent Hill 2 10 Star ranking, one of the last trophies I got before I sold my PS3.
It was a pain.
Using the 3x ammo multiplier is pretty much mandatory to get the achievement (except maybe if you're an absolute expert at the game) and using the shotgun for both Melee and Ranged kills is the best option you have. Get close, shoot once and kick for a melee kill and shoot twice for a ranged kill, I kept a list of how many enemies I killed on a piece of paper to be absolutely sure I got the numbers.
But I made one mistake:
My last save was before Abstract Daddy so everytime I messed up at the Eddie fight I'd have to do the AD fight again.
And I messed up the Eddie fight. Alot. Until I finally found a way to beat him without using alot of health items for the ranking.
Everything else is pretty doable. You don't have to get a normal ending, you can actually skip the last bosses via Dog Ending to save time, ammo and health.

On the silent hill 2 hd collection version you can actually chose if you want the original voice over or the new one
Homecoming was by far the easiest game to get to 100% completion as long as you got the UFO ending first. Past that was just making saves before the choices and splitting those saves accordingly. Personally I think the hardest achievement should come from Shattered Memories, however Origins SH1/Shattered memories and SH4 are the only games that don't have achievements. So anything related to those games have to be omitted :(

I finally figured it out, you can not get the boat achievement with a series x controller, I would have to play on my 360. I may actually be able to get a 10 star run I have never done it
the hardest achievement is book of memories because you have to acknowledge its existance (as soon as i heard the name i skipped tht part)

I got both 2 and 3, and only remember 3 being easy but 2 screwing me in the ass with a blowtorch. I had forgotten all about the 10 star rating. I wanna cry like back when
The only game I never got trophies for it Book of Memories because I don't have a PSP.
Also, Downpour's Achievement isn't really that difficult when you realize there's a trick to it. Only Executions count as a kill. That's it. For some reason, it doesn't matter how you take out an enemy, as long as you don't perform an execution.
There's also a trick to getting all the endings in one playthrough/sitting as well. You just play the game only do executions on enemies, but always pick the good choices when given the option during cutscenes. this keeps Murphy's "morality" neutral. So, when you get to the climax of the story and controlling the Boogyman, you can make the choices needed to get the ending you want at that point. Then, reload the last save, which starts you off at the climax again and you can get a different ending by doing something different. You'll get all the endings in about 30 minutes or so and you won't have to start a new playthrough.
My favorite game in the series is Silent Hill 3 and would have loved if this game was the one getting a remake.
I actually got the good behavior achiviement back when i was going for all the achiviements in downpour in 2017, also monster will only get up if you get too far away from them..it also takes a little of knowing the places (since there's ones where you can avoid monsters)

On the hd remaster of silent hill 2 on Xbox 360 u can choose to have original voices
Nursery rhymes does glitch out with 1 drawing not popping up sometimes I ran 10 runs throughs and 7 times I wasn't able to collect all the drawings even with guides. I got 100% on homecoming
Get the PS3 version instead of the Xbox version because it doesn’t crash and freeze or stutter. That’s the best version to play the HD collection on but fuck the new voices
I always thought the rarest was the Princess costume for Heather, took me ages to unlock that back in the day :) Oh and ALL endings of Silent Hill 4 was a pain in the bum too XD
These achievements on HD Collection wouldn't be so bad if the game was more stable. The fact that it just crashes whenever it wants to is what makes it tough
It’s never crashed or gave me issues in 2 and 3 why does the hd collection get so much hate? should note never played ps2 port I’ve only played the hd collection but I’ll say its never crashed or gave me issues so I don’t get why people trash it so much

You finally get old enough to buy your own things. Your dad passes away. You decide to go play the rest of the games your dad played with you but someone spoils the whole plot of it.
Or maybe you weren't a fan when it came out. Everyone was talking about it and it was too hyped. The hype died and you finally got around to playing it.
Or you didn't have the money to play it. Or you forgot about it. There are many reasons someone hasn't watched/read/played something. Should always be careful regardless.
I played through Silent Hill 3. I know what happens. That moment is just a pivotal point and I'm trying to help those that haven't played it yet. Especially with the new blood of Silent Hill fans possibly coming with the new releases (if they are good). They will most likely want to seek out the originals.

I'm a bit curious about the methodology for determining the rarity of HD collection achievements. Since it's 2 games in one, using the psn completion ratio isn't very accurate sicne there's a portion of players who only played one of the two games in the collection. As for Silent Hill 2, you could always just wait for the remake or if playing HD collection, use the setting to restore the original voices.

Well nice i got the nursery rhythms achievement.
I played the original silent hill 2 release so when I booted up the silent hill 2 HD collection I just couldn't play it also I got to the apartment building and couldn't see a damn thing it was so dark unlike in the original you can still somewhat see legit in the HD one you can't see ANYTHING even with the flashlight that's how bad this issue is.
I never played the original so I can’t relate but wow did I hate how dark the rooms were I thought it was like that in the original game as well

Homecoming never got trophies and im still sad its my fave. I woulda gotten all of em no doubt. For SH3 that trophy is easy then again i flew through the game 4 times but i cant get the trophy that gives you possessd ending. Im suprised that isnt the hardest one to get

Nope, I had no idea how the scoring system even worked before I beat SH3 and I never really played it much after SH3 release since it´s so much better in every way.
The only feedback I have is that I'm not really interested in hearing summaries of the stories, but I'm here for the rare achievements. That info could be left out. Aside from that, really enjoyable channel you have! Always fun to hear about crazy achievements.

Silent Hill 2 HD has some really common crash points, meaning the 2 saves that are usually reserved for some tricky moments, have to be wasted on the points the game crashes or glitches the most.
The achievement really isn't worth it.

Not trying to be picky but on Xbox the getting all achievements for sh3 is 1.07 percent completed. Little more rare than the ufo ending. I have not been able to get that get across the lake on sh2 under a minute 20 been teing for years, I'll never get a 10star.... I only need 3 achievements for all the sh2

I was working on the platinum for silent hill 2 back then and i decided to play killzone hd to get another platinum and take a break from silent hill 2 after doing multiple play throughs got all the endings and was about to attempt the 10 star run and well i was playing killzone and then it crashed like no big deal nope. Not only did it corrupt my data i had to restore it to factory settings killzone killed my files lol and i was doing silent hill 3 too lol

I didnt even know what to do i was just runnig around, never knowing why did i get teleported back to the room. Anywas Silent hill games are best games survival horor games i played, alongside resident evil and Obscure 2

I couldn't beat Silent Hill 2 HD on hard. as the hallway where Pyramid Head chases you and Maria. So I gave up on trying for the Platinum.

I earned this for my older sister while having no idea most of time what are requirements. Reason why i played this for sister was that i am much more mechanically better player but going for this achiement blind is not fun exprerience.

I have played the HD Remaster like 10 times, one of them for platinum and it is not close to being as problematic as people claim. Also the Remaster has the original voices so that argument is non-existent. Also they added some fixes to the PS3 version.
The SH3 HD achievement/trophy where you have to beat the game with no saves (or was it under 3?) Idk, is the hardest imo since the game seems to crash and stop working after the sewers for alot of people.
You spend far too much time talking about the game we already know bout and not the achievements you're supposed to be talking about. It's actually quite annoying having someone explain the story of SH3 like we wouldn't know it already.

In some countries certain letter combinations are never pronounced , for the last 2 years I've been learning German, Russian and Japanese and there's still words I struggle to get the hang of,

Silent Hill characters are poorly constructed and have zero depth to them unlike Jill, Leon, Rebecca, Chris, Ada, Whesker, Barry, wait…… what are the characters from silent hill’s names again? Oh….. that’s right no one knows because they had zero influence, significance, or impact.

The whole point of Japanese style is more subtle and not so much with buckets of blood and gore everywhere. The whole name thing is concerned, the fact you got a bad memory means nothing.
