@@jerrym1218 I can definitely see SH1 being your favorite. It's got an absolutely incredible atmosphere thanks to the limitations of ps1 hardware. Tons of amazing indie games nowadays are trying to replicate that look because it's so potent. And yeah Harry dying was brutal but I think it was what helped make the rest of the events hit so hard. Still, I wish we had gotten to experience some of him in SH3, however briefly.
@@arsonne I know, there is just something about the PS1 graphics that makes Silent Hill 1 extra creepy and stand out from the others. There is a lot of cool Indie games using the same type of graphics for their games too, Lost in Vivo is one that comes to mind and it’s awesome. I hope one day we get some kind of reunion with Team Silent where they bring us back to Silent Hill with a brand new story and brand new characters, but I know that it’s just a fantasy that will never come true, one could dream though 😬🙏🏼.

I remember being stuck on the hard mode puzzles for a year. I was a child and didn't know about internet or gaming mags. Also being a huge SH fan and consuming countless hours of content I didn't expect this to be so entertaining. Thanks!
Hey man, great video, loved the timing of your jokes and overall commenting, you have a soothing voice. The editing is also really enjoyable. Subbed and looking forward to your next video, cheers my tuga boy.
Definitely do a part 2. I always liked SH3 better than 2, also. I think SH2 was the first in the series for many (it was mine) and was put on a pedestal because of it. I enjoyed the game, but James' story is just some random one in the series. While Heather is a HUGE part of the history of the town, he matters none. Plus, I'd rather played Angela's story. Anyway, great job and hope you do a part 2.😊
The quality of this video was amazing. When I checked and seen you only had 425 subscribers I was dumb founded. You’ll Forsure blow up man, keep it up!
Without watching the video I agree. Still watching anyways, but 3 was so well done. 2 gets so much praise and I find 3 gets thrown under the bus because of it. I found 3 built on what made 2 so good. I am so glad you chose to talk about this one.
You probably already know, but the idea behind the cleaner/detergent puzzle is mixing both of those is EXTREMELY toxic if exposed to it for a while, especially in a closed room :p
For me Silent Hill 3 REALLY is the best game of the franchise. Because the protagonist is cute and badass. The story is very interresting, it takes places in two diferent places, but we do not know it. The most amazing thing, for the first and sadly the only time in the whole videogame's history we play with a protagonist with is also the antsgonist, since CHERYL is ALESSA.
Silent Hill 3 is the perfect example of how Artistic execution is more important than rendering technology. It is incredible that this game was made in 2003 on the PS2. It's timeless.
I’ll never forget the day me and my friend unlocked the first puzzle on hard only using Wikipedia and the internet without looking up the code. Honestly, one of the greatest gaming achievements of my life haha. I still remember Shakespeare solely because of that puzzle :) Great video my dude!
I love this game so much it's hard to properly express it. I'd tape my entire playthroughs on VHS and watch them back lol. Must've finished it 20+ times if not more. I just adore the aesthetic, the characters, story just everything. It's my favorite Silent Hill far and away. Would not be upset it this got a remake after 2 seeing as it looks like it'll be a success. Can't wait to see what Cheryl looks like updated if so.
this game is way too fucking obtuse the number of hours I spent running in literal circles before I looked up a walkthrough and apparently I just needed to walk into some obscure corner to press x and progress was absolutely soul crushing. yea the game is scary but at what cost. at what cost?
Very good video! I'm kinda sad there's no second episode, it ends with very little conclusion and you dragged us into a great story without finishing it x)
@@FreddyDude nahhh it's okay ^-^ it's the opposite x) be proud that people liked your videos so bad that they wish there was more of it ! If you want fair criticism, i'd say sometimes the edgy internet / french jokes kind of humour falls a bit flat, but beside that that was a very pleasing video to watch, the rhythm, editing and narration is on point and it all got some identity, so that's cool, i like your cynic and nonchalant attitude (as long as it stays balanced to not only be a "fuck you jokes" fest), and all that is only my opinion, do what you want with it but yeah, i just wanted to let you know you got a good writing and hearing you narrate a story with a contextual commentary was great ! Hope to see more of you soon ^-^ (im a huge fan of these particular kind off videos, maybe other people will find it too long or idk, but i think that was good) Also : your video title make it look like it's a review or analysis where you will show and explain multiples point that explains why SH3 is your favourite silent hill, but it's actually less an analysis with exposition > thesis > antithesis > conclusion And more of a narrative letsplay complimenting the good things found along the way (good game / level design, good sound design / ambience / characters interactions etc) and the video ends abruptly with no real conclusion or message So that's maybe where your script writing needs a bit more training imo, but besides, you can be proud of that video it was really worth the time ! Sry for such a long comment, i hope that feedback can be useful or whatever x)
Really funny & surprisingly profound take on one of my favorite iterations of this franchise! Your humor is spot-on & your commentary is very entertaining, I’d tune in to a second part in no time flat lol Keep up the awesome work dude 🤘🏼
I want to agree that SH3 is the best one, I fucking love it, but I can't deny that SH2 is celebrated for good reason. It's so dense with mystery and symbolism, I love feeling lost and afraid in a hostile town. I love SH3's more visceral horror, but I prefer the subtle psychological horror of 2. I still think SH3 is second best, and concur that Heather is a much more fleshed out protagonist, but to me SH2 goes above and beyond. Also, 2:04 this fucking killed me lmfao, subscribed
@@FreddyDude Nah I get you, I've just been thinking lately about which I like better. Maybe they're both equal, both great games for different reasons, I'd rather have it this way than having 3 be a copy of 2
The first two are great. I have the silent hill HD collection for xbox series x and it looks good. If you're a survival horror fanboy then these games are a must have in your collection.
SH3 has without a doubt the best characters and probably overall narrative, but as a complete package the original SH is unbeatable. The first SH is also probably one of the few if not the only game that is a true work of surrealism, and not just having minor influence or a moment here or there.
Joel Peter Witkin could be included in that list, his work is refereced in Jacob's ladder. Also the music video closer from NIN borrows from his work. NIN also gave direct inspiration for the industrial soundscapes of SH. Alejandro Jodorowsky, David Lynch and Jan Svankmajer also gave quite some inspiration for SH. Definitely check out the elevator scene from Svankmajer's Alice and compare it with the scene of Heather in the elevator.
Maybe you'll be happy to know that i have a video on the artistic inspirations for silent hill 😀 and currently working on a part 2 to that said video where i talk about witkin and lynch . Thanks for watching btw.
I like how they continued Cheryls story from silent hill 1 to 3 you really have to go through the first ever silent hill game to know Cheryls background story and how everything unfolds such a great franchise I’ll keep saying it. Because it is imo
if SH4 didn't exist, SH3 would absolutely be my favorite. The imagery is downright terrifying, especially given Heather's age. 3 & 4 are the only entries that sent me into a legit panic.
3 is bar-none one of the prettiest PS2 games and prettiest games of the era. IMO it stands right alongside everything new for the past 20-some years and still does.
I loved everything about this game except the gameplay. It became so incredibly tedious I started to feel annoyed instead of afraid. There are just SO many enemies and they have so much health, it was obnoxious. Really a shame too, as I did love everything else. I feel sh2 had the combat balanced perfectly, SH1 is too easy, and I wouldn’t call 3 hard it’s just so sluggish and tedious. When there is 10 million enemies with a ton of health jt really draws attention to the lackluster combat mechanics. I felt it during the final boss too. I get that you’re killing god but it just takes SO long & is just a loop of run away, run up, shoot, rinse and repeat
I felt like the combat in 3 was meant to be more of a return to 1, where you just kind of feel overwhelmed and it's better to run than to fight most of the time. I felt like 2 was too easy and 1 was, like I said, overwhelming, but in a frustrating way. Getting your ankles grabbed by the kids in the school, for example - more annoying than anything and often hard to avoid. 3 had some of that as well with the enemies that could just knock you on your ass over and over again, but generally I felt like 3's enemies and combat had an actually kind of terrifying atmosphere and I prefer that.
Im deadass so suprised how great edited and the level of the video you made im so suprised you dont got a million of subscribers by now i was so intertained if im spelling correctly
I think SH1 is the best horror made, but my favourite is SH3, really it is the best SH3 as in terms of horror comes very close to SH1, but has a perfect character and good story/enemies. Plus impressive visuals. SH2 gets hype because many younger players never played the 1st, and probably wouldn't then understand 3 as much. But SH2 is a bad horror game, not scary mostly and easy to outrun enemies with a lot of ammo and items dotted everywhere. It is a good psychological thriller/horror though.
Everyone commenting on the shakespear puzzle, I was way more annoyed by the horse shoe the candle and the lighter required to open a trap door in 2. Wasted hours before I just started combining random crap & bam....
I love this game tbh and am happy to see others loving it also! I mean i didn‘t finish the video yet but imma just drop in here why I love it so much: It‘s just so damn real! Like, I am a woman and heather reminds me a LOT about myself and losing her dad also spoke to me a lot although for me the circumstance was very different but i genuinely felt for her in that scene. But also the parts of the horror of womanhood and how you can feel like you‘re some deer hunted by creepy people. Plus, I have chronic pain so the horror aspect also felt really personal in that regard as well. Just this sudden feeling that you‘re completely alone and any public place you used to love turned into this nightmare because of the pain and how vulnerable and miserable it makes you feel and as you reach home you realize nothing will ever be like before and you just break down. I remember the many breakdowns I‘ve had be that from my horrible school experience all the way to my chronic illness happening about at the same time. And the long journey of going to the doctor over and over to get diagnosed after years of you not knowing why you‘re in pain and constantly feeling like nobody wants to help you: i mean it‘s like the gates of hell opening up below you and you just fall into it. And you have ho cope with the fact people abandon you in your weakest moments and all you have is the few people that actually care about you. It‘s a LOT of trauma and for me i lived in ignorance of my own trauma and mental health issues for years because I just thought it‘d be normal to be treated like shit by all your peers because crying never did anything to change anything so you just go numb and endure while you accept that you‘re in a hell of some kind basically. And how that‘s apparently life. But yeah. I relate so much to heather! Losing your innocence, being stalked, your body being hyjacked by something that makes you feel horrible and see every place you visit and go to like a stained metal cage. And watching peoples indifference to all of it and also people abandoning you while you‘re in so much pain. It‘s aweful. And your cheerful childhood self dies and is replaced by this numb version. The you that just exists feeling all these complicated feelings. Heather beat the god sure, but it won‘t bring her brother back. I beat my reinfection cycle of my illness but the pain will stay with me because that‘s how the illness works. I‘ll never be free of that pain and i‘ll have to live with it for the rest of my life. Just like heather has having lost her dad and these toll the whole thing took on her. She beat the nightmare. But her pain and trauma will still stay with her for life just like mine. And that‘s why I love this game so much! It understands me! It‘s the only game that got my own feelings and experiences down so well! And the horror and the sadness and terror of being forced into harsh reality by the cruelty of nature and also people. It‘s so damn real and I love it for that! Just like the first game for the medical trauma symbolism! So many people say that the second game is the best. That it‘s so profound and amazing. And it is a awesome game no doubt! I loved playimg it too! But James‘s story doesn‘t make me feel as seen as that of Alyssa or Heather did. It might make other fans feel seen but for me personally, the first and third game perfectly portrayed the traumatic horror of cruelty thrust upon children and being stuck in a medical hell and being forced to grow up fast and having your life change drastically im just a day. It‘s so real for so many of us! And that‘s what makes it so great!

@@omardelmar A well-stated opinion. Thank you for bravely coming forward with your story.
@@arsonne you're welcome.
I found bulletproof vest to be handy. It reduces the amount of damage you have taken by half or smth. I use it heavily in close range combat to save some bullets.
Very entertaining and love SH3 as well. BTW Julianne Moore was not in Silence of the Lambs but in Hannibal. SOL was Jodie Foster.
I remember being stuck on the hard mode puzzles for a year. I was a child and didn't know about internet or gaming mags. Also being a huge SH fan and consuming countless hours of content I didn't expect this to be so entertaining. Thanks!
a plus for sh3 is heather reacting to stuff appropriately, making her even more relatable than any protagonist of the series to date
Waiting for part 2!!!😃 That was incredible 🤩
WE NEED NEXT PART! I love your calm voice explaining and the atmosphere that you can create! I love this vid keep going! ^^
Finishing another video and just started working on part 2. And thanks I've always hated my voice lol
@@FreddyDude Everybody is judgemental about them selves, in my opinion your voice is cute qwq
This was honestly a great watch had me interested throughout and inspired me to go back and play the SH games. Keep it up !
Hey man, great video, loved the timing of your jokes and overall commenting, you have a soothing voice. The editing is also really enjoyable. Subbed and looking forward to your next video, cheers my tuga boy.
Obrigadinho👍
Definitely do a part 2. I always liked SH3 better than 2, also. I think SH2 was the first in the series for many (it was mine) and was put on a pedestal because of it. I enjoyed the game, but James' story is just some random one in the series. While Heather is a HUGE part of the history of the town, he matters none. Plus, I'd rather played Angela's story. Anyway, great job and hope you do a part 2.😊
Agree 100%!!!!!!! You put my thoughts about the games into words haha
Can’t wait for what should be a Part 2!!! I love analysis on games like Silent Hill, and this one was both captivating and funny.
honestly this is one of the best silent hill 3 videos i have ever watched keep it up man
The quality of this video was amazing.
Great video! Your sense of humor made it such a compelling watch
Great video, and great commentary! The edits were very funny. This game really is a masterpiece
Thank you!!! It's my favourite one in the series personally
Humor is on point. I hope there is a part 2. Subbed!!!!!
There will be part 2!
@@FreddyDude hells yes 👏🥲👍🎉
damn, you only have almost 1,000 subs?? your editing is hilarious and this analysis was top tier! you got my sub! please make part two!
man, this video kicked ass. had me interested and laughing the whole way thru. good shit my guy
The only complain I had with this game was not giving mason any screen time like dagg he was the main character in the first game
you deserve alot more, this is some quality content
I think the bread in this game is probably the most antagonistic character in the entire series.
It’s bread.
During my ulcerative colitis flares these types Silent Hill videos help me through it. Really love the vid, see you put much care into it.
I’ll never forget the day me and my friend unlocked the first puzzle on hard only using Wikipedia and the internet without looking up the code. Honestly, one of the greatest gaming achievements of my life haha. I still remember Shakespeare solely because of that puzzle :)
Great video my dude!
Yea what about dark souls, maybe offline even
SIlent Hill 3 changed my life. The soundtrack has inspired my own music more than I'd like to admit.
love the video, one of the better silent hill ones I've seen
please talk about the rest of the game i love listening to people talk about silent hill
NOOOOOOO I was so invested in this video...
Now I'm really sad to find out that there's no Part 2.... :'(
Very good video! I'm kinda sad there's no second episode, it ends with very little conclusion and you dragged us into a great story without finishing it x)
Sorry :( I wasn't getting any views so I didn't even think anyone would see this
@@FreddyDude Give it time. I just got recommended your video.
Hope to see more of you soon ^-^ (im a huge fan of these particular kind off videos, maybe other people will find it too long or idk, but i think that was good)
Also : your video title make it look like it's a review or analysis where you will show and explain multiples point that explains why SH3 is your favourite silent hill, but it's actually less an analysis with exposition > thesis > antithesis > conclusion
And more of a narrative letsplay complimenting the good things found along the way (good game / level design, good sound design / ambience / characters interactions etc) and the video ends abruptly with no real conclusion or message
So that's maybe where your script writing needs a bit more training imo, but besides, you can be proud of that video it was really worth the time !
Sry for such a long comment, i hope that feedback can be useful or whatever x)
The only reason we figured out the Shakespeare puzzle back in 03 was because me and my buddies were drama kids playing SH3 in summer 03.
Really funny & surprisingly profound take on one of my favorite iterations of this franchise! Your humor is spot-on & your commentary is very entertaining, I’d tune in to a second part in no time flat lol
Keep up the awesome work dude 🤘🏼
That normal to hard puzzle difficulty difference was like comparing a nerf gun to an airstrike.
Imagine if silent hill 3 got remade with resident evil 2 remakes engine. That would be amazing.
James being 29 years old doesn't really qualify him as a boomer, he'd fit into the Gen X age bracket.
29? lol that's millennial dude, not gen x. Gen x people are like in their mid-40's or older
@@hypnos9336 Gen X is 1965 - 1980, James is 29 years old and the game takes place circa 1994 putting James in that bracket, albeit by a hair's width.
Long videos like this make midnights shifts tolerable lol
Awsome dude!
Really glad that there's another dark soul out there who gets into Silent Hill as deeply as I do. These games really helped make me who I am
Wow, this is pretty good analyse. I've always liked more SH3 than SH2, but i really never knew why
I love sh2 as well. Just wanted a good title lol
Nice video dude👍🏻👍🏻
Love the music, the clips, the memes, the analysis was well done. Thanks for the upload
"It was foretold by Gyromancy.."
"What?"
"COME" *queue sick sick guitar riff from Doom*
i love this game even more since i watched this!
Great video! I love your sense for comedic editing. I laughed a lot and enjoyed your commentary. Keep up the good work
Thank you!!!
@@FreddyDude so..part 2 when? haha
Please make a part 2 I love your humor
I love Douglas he's such a real one he's so cool I wish Douglas adopted me after I dismantled a cult
3 is bar-none one of the prettiest PS2 games and prettiest games of the era. IMO it stands right alongside everything new for the past 20-some years and still does.
Especially in 4k with the widescreen fix, looks as if its a remaster of the game. Phenominal
The craziest part is this look’s better then the ps3 iterations
thank you for this content about the BEST entry in the series, will be waiting for part 2
Woke up this morning watched a bit of this before heading out, 8k views. Came back, 12k, the algorithm is doing it’s magic
Yeah I get that. Personally, I think it really added to the chaotic nature of the other world, but yeah sometimes it feels like forced difficulty
@@FreddyDude fair enough, despite my strong opinion on the combat 3 is easily still my second favorite
For while now I'm very into old horror games
Incredible video on one of my all-time favourite games!! You deserve waaaaaay more subscribers, keep up the great work my guy
I've played from 1 to 4 and I'm completely in with the theory that the town is 'tough but fair'.
Im deadass so suprised how great edited and the level of the video you made im so suprised you dont got a million of subscribers by now i was so intertained if im spelling correctly

Ngl pretty good reviews keep it up bro I definitely want to see your continue in this direction
I love this game, probably my favorite of the franchise ❤️
Hope to see that part 2!
28:40 that scared the shit out of me the first time
Need that part 2 man!
“I am Claudia”
“So what?”
Is so memorable because of how sassy it sounds lol
love the video! keep up the good work! your editing and voiceover is super clean. would love for a p2 :D
Everyone commenting on the shakespear puzzle, I was way more annoyed by the horse shoe the candle and the lighter required to open a trap door in 2. Wasted hours before I just started combining random crap & bam....
*wax doll not candle
My favourite one will always be the first SH. But 3 is a close second. They're so underestimated in comparison to 2.
I love this game tbh and am happy to see others loving it also! I mean i didn‘t finish the video yet but imma just drop in here why I love it so much:
It‘s just so damn real!
Amazing content! I have seen alot of silent hill 3 Content but this my friend is the best 👌
