My newest vocal plugin chain is Pro Q3 (to clean up stuff), Xvox Pro, Softube Blue Tone. I already compress and de-es and eq out the box with my Avalon vt737sp, Warm Audio wa76, Maag Eq2 and the DBX 826 for de-esing purposes. But it all starts with my AKG C414 XLS
Thanks a lot! It would be great to know the logic behind the small cuts that you apply with the Kirchhoff EQ. I think that's the trickiest part of what you have shown in this video.
@@FoliaSound no, no, not brighter, More airy, when in stereo mid side mode and dip 2-10khz a bit and boost 14khz and up, give her air, not brightness, or if there’s no high source, saturate just the highs on the sides to generate air
@@FoliaSound it’s always difficult to judge something like this if you don’t know what the production wishes and know the source material, just felt that the vocal seemed small and lonely against the music and a bit more body and a little atmosphere around might bridge it to the Musik, I have a little tip, if you have seventh heaven reverb try the “cinema” preset, it’s not very present but it does seem tk round the body of the vocal and if you feed some of the instruments into it at the same time it really seems to bridge and glue a song without it being flooded with effect, but be careful ( as always with effects) not to over do it, that preset is the classic one that you don’t think it’s doing anything until you switch it off, not sure what that algorithm is doing but it really is very beautiful when set properly, give it a try. Nothing to lose!
@FoliaSound I'm sorry when I watched through the rest of the video it sounded much better and not as thin as it was at the start of the video. Usually It's more difficult to get a nice full vocal when you're working with one take of vocals, so parallel comp + tube EQ almost always takes it to the radio ready finish.
Hellooo! What do you think about my chain? Inspiring? What's yours? Lemme know down below!
Great vid
Interesting. I usually see the 1176 before the LA2A.
Great video as always ! Love the Toneboosters one, this plugin really is a secret gem. Keep up the good work 👌🔥
Thanks a lot, man!

Sounds great!
Thx!
I like that Solaris! Didn’t know about that.

There were some obvious resonances/unbalanced areas in the raw material, that's it!
Cold be a bit fuller and rounder with some more air too
I think it's bright enough, I pushed the highs on Pultec quite a lot... Greetings!

I think that wasn't my goal here, simple as that, but appreciate the idea. Thanks!

great informative show....keep up the good work!!!!!
Noveltech Character or vocal enhancer
Sounds too thin for my taste .
You mean not enough compression? Not enough low end? I just didn't want to overprocess it and make it sit with the music well. Cheers!

PS: It was the tricky muddy lows area of the EQ spectrum that wasn't there for me + missing 2nd layer of vox.
telephone vocal chain, super thin
This video was great, very helpful. I’d love to see you do the same kind of thing for drums and other elements!
Very cool idea, I'll take it as my own. Expect more chains to be presented!
