You have to mix high quality two stroke synthetic oil in the gas .
Same thing happened to my buddies 03. He stood on the Kickstarter and and didn't budge.
Yeah, my bikes always sounded like that when they ran outta gas... 😅 (time for 2-stroke tutorials for this generation*)
That's what happens when you over-rev, especially during cold starts.
most people dont understand that engine ice coolant is needed. oems put garbage coolant in their bikes.
Always use good full synthetic oil and mix it heavy..
Seems like a few factors contributed to this! When all the cool old guys are dead you gotta learn the hard way with your asshole friends 😂
YZs are not cheap to rebuild😂
Used to ride at Florence oregon every weekend during summer. Buy some pantyhose and wrap it around the outside of your filter. One layer will keep the sand out.
Shut up and watch the show and see how much you can make with your time
It didn’t blow up! it soft seized! Big difference! Let it cool down & ride it slow back to the truck! If it starts! That being said your probably revving out to high or running to lean
It’s a 2-stroke brotha, ain’t no thang.
Imma stay with a 4 stroke
4 ounces per gallon, Yamalube 2R and race gas !
Best !
Sounds like crank bearing spun same thing happened on my yz250 we tore here down and did hotrods stroker kit vertex berings gaskets wisco 83mm piston and had my cylinder honed
So anti-climactic thought the bike was gonna explode 😭
Riding SAND requires more OIL in your premix and INCREASED Jetting for protection from the extreme wear caused
Definitely the rider…
This is what happens when you don’t keep up with your maintenance.
Time for a rebuild… Soak the air filter in oil so it keeps sand from flowing into the cylinder
I always clean my filters in gas but how does that keep sand from flowing into the cylinder??!
