    I did end up making this tonight. It was a hit. The best cornbread I’ve had by far. My wife loved it, uncle who’s from the south loved it. Even my 3 year old daughter who doesn’t like anything but candy loved it. I used 2 tbsps of honey. Baked it at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Came out perfect. It’s so easy to make too. That’s the crazy thing. We had our cornbread with crab cakes which was awesome. My uncle requested to have it again with some of my borracho beans.

      @@CookingWithTammy. : I love your channel. I made your Cajun Blackened salmon a while back. The one with the lemon slices. That’s also a family fav. I can’t believe my kids like it. Even my Aunt who doesn’t like salmon loves it. She asked for the recipe so I forwarded her your video. You have the most delicious recipes. When I want anything Creole or Cajun, which has now become quite often, I just scroll through your videos. Keep them coming. You are awesome!!!!

    Making this tonight (: added some vanilla flavouring, cinnamon and nutmeg. Will update how it turns out!
    Update: this is my first time baking and I didn’t have a cast iron pan. Also didn’t consider what size baking pan to use. Being in the UK I also struggled with converting the measurements as I didn’t have all the proper measuring tools. The mixture came out great (considering I just used what I had in the kitchen and was not properly prepared/equipped to make this) however, the pan I used was way too small. When I took it out of the oven the sides and top were cooked but the entire middle was wet/ uncooked 😅. Anyway covered with foil and added back in the oven on a slightly lower heat for about 20/30 more minutes. Came out okay in the end. Slightly dry/dense but still had good flavour. Enjoyed it anyway. Might invest in a cast iron and try again next time. Thanks for the recipe ❤

    Looks great and I may give it a go - BUT - let me challenge you a bit:
    I have a mill that can grind POPCORN (or dent corn or dry hominy) and my wheat berries to make fresh flour.
    Fresh milled popcorn gives the cornbread a real pop in flavor.

    • @lovedbymany37
      @lovedbymany37 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Are you from the south? because that’s what my great grandparents used too .

    • @rojerww
      @rojerww ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lovedbymany37 for a short while I lived in Biloxi. But I am not a real southerner. I live in New Mexico and I’ve only been milling my own flour and cornmeal for about 2 years. The raw grains are less expensive, hold their nutrition longer and taste great.
      BUT: I am at altitude (makes all baking experimental) and using whole wheat berries includes all the bran (making even simple bread recipes - experimental) which means I haven’t learned how to get consistent picture perfect results yet but even my mistakes taste great.

      I have a cornbread recipe I will prefer u to use for the stuffing. The texture is a little more coarse which will work better. This cornbread recipe however is softer and lighter in texture, better for serving as a side. Here’s the link: for Cornbread Recipe th-cam.com/video/suA90NySUok/w-d-xo.html
