The only video I was able to find where someone was actually doing it to them self .. I have been so nervous to put mine In but watching you do this gives me confidence that I can do the back of my head ... I'm going to start in a little while .. I'm nervous but excited
I'm a hairstylist and have to say - this isn't something I've ever done before- I recently had some synth dreads made for me and was dreading(omg lol no pun intended!) having to put them in - as I thought it would be much more difficult- you've put me at ease and now a job I thought was going to literally take me all day(just for 10 DE!) will take me under an hour and a half. Thanks for the tutorial!! Xx
I found this video so therapeutic loo watching you do the braids, you suit them so much and they look amazing, will you be doing a video on taking them out?xx
This is such a nice video. I have natural dreads I've been growing for about 10 years now, and even though I've a totally different grade of hair, I think making dreads in this style and braiding them into my own would add some new dimensions and exotic colors without harsh dyes.
***** There's two mirrors, one behind her (the one you can see) and one in front of her. What you're seeing is the reflection of the mirror in front of her in the one behind her.
They look so rad Tessa! I usually only keep my in for 2 weeks at a time though because they tend to stunt my hair growth and cause breakage and also matt at the roots to the point it really damaged my hair and I was very careful and looked after them well and never over washed or scrunched them at the roots when I did wash them but they still tend to knot. They are so much fun though and I love all the positive feedback I got also because they're synthetic, you need to reseal them to keep them looking nice which I just did with an iron and a wet towel....xx
I love the idea of removable dreads. I really like the look of them, but couldn't bear to cut them out when I was done with them! Yours look awesome!! One question, how was your face towards us in the mirror behind you in the intro???
SheaCreates Haha that messed with my head so bad. I had to play the first part of the video over because all I was doing was trying to figure out why I could see her face
SheaCreates you don't have to cut dreads out when you are done. they comb out pretty easily. if its your real hair that is dreaded and has been for a long time (like a year or longer) condition your hair every day for 1 week in the shower and really let it soak in for a couple minutes. then when the hair has fully dried comb them out with a fine tooth comb starting at the bottom. your hair shouldn't be damaged or break off.
you don't cut them out you remove rubber band and unbraid them out- I know I don't like perm real dreads because if you get lice from hippies you have to shave yur head plus they itch. I have an idea just make 3-4 real dreads- I did before then no real committment
Seriously this is the coolest thing and id love to be doing this to my hair in October. You should have so many more subs though, your videos are awesome!
Omg I just watched you making the DE dreads and now I’m watching this. I’m absolutely trying this. I don’t want to damage my hair with real dreads ( btw if you crochet it too much you can hurt your real hair with dreads) and it’s my first time doing this so I’m definitely trying this THANK YOU SO MUCH. I’m subscribing. Keep doing what you’re doing because you’re great at it.
love it totally great music def ush doing it soon but my hair is to my but so how not sure xox...deciding - do I buy them or make them- I make clip ins. love the music thanx
What a calming video Tessar :) Will you be selling dreds and if so would you except pictures of the buyer's hair colour so you can match as good as possible? I tried making some a while back, but found it pretty tricky and didn't have the patience for it in the end. XD
they look stunning! quick question, does your hair need to be a certain length for the braid to hold the dread properly? i have shoulder length hair, would this work for me? thanks x
I wanted to order dreads off Betsy but I'm not sure how many I need both of the sides of my heads are shaved so I have a faux hawk. I hair is very thick and grows fast. How many would you recommend
This helped me a lot. I about to get dreads next week and I'm so looking forward to it😍 btw u remind me a bit o Leah Crane, good video, keep it up :) Lovely Gteetings
Thank you so much for this video. Can you please tell me how often can your hair since now the hair mix with the fake dreads? And do you use any special products to maintain?
thank you so much for your Tutorial, i wanted to dread my hair but i didnt know how it would look if i would like it or what so thanks this gives me a chance to see feel live with them before i change everything to do them :))
I can't wait to try this! My hair is currently in real dreadlocks, but I'm brushing them out because I'm extremely sensitive to bicarbonate soda (which you need to deep clean your dreads, which is essential). - I've been thinking of how I'd miss them, but this way I can still have dreads! ^_^ And better yet, I'll be able to run my fingers through my hair, which I've really been missing, lol! =3
Are those you showed us all the dreads you wear or do you usually install them all over your entire head? I wanna get this look myself since I'm tired of dreading my natural hair and combing them out again like I did a few times over the past few years. But I'm worried that it'll look weird if I have the volume of the dreads only at the lower part of my head, but I wanna keep some of my hair loose to hide the braiding... :)
Hello! Quick question about your haircolor/hairdye thing. I really love this color, and I'm dyeing my hair pink next Tuesday! But, you apply the dye on dry hair, but after you wash the dye off your hair, isn't your hair very greasy because of the conditioner? Hopefully you can answer my question, bye
Quinty H I know i'm not Tessarr sorry. I have oily hair and it isn't greasy or oily after I wash dye out personally, but it depends on your hair. Honestly you can't wash your hair if you have an unnatural hair color because the dye will fade out fast so you'll have to deal with greasy hair quite a bit. I hope this helped :)
it is a little bit greasy but what i used to do was just go in the shower, rinse the dye out and then shampoo and condition as usual because i hated the feeling of it
Order pravana dye offline and get punky colors too, this brand mix is the holy grail of stay power for me but it also stains like no other. I wash my hair everyday in warm water with shampoo and conditioner and my hair is still vibrant as ever. If you don't wash all of the dye out when using cold water sometimes it still feels greasy.
I'm making my synthetic dreads soon and all of your videos have been life savers omg. but I have one question and I can't seem to find the answer anywhere else! how do you wash your roots without getting your dreads wet? I know you havent had them for a while but what was your expirience with your washing routine when you couldn't get away with dry shampoo anymore?
your tutorial was just what I was looking for my hair!!! you use a great method n.n but i have a question: how did you wash your hair with the dreads on? i hope you can answer me, thanks! (and sorry for the bad english, hope you're able to undertand me but english is not my language, I speak spanish :P)
do your roots get tired of the weight of the dreads and fall off? i heard that it can happen as well and it's the only thing holding me back from getting dreads
I'm planning on installing double ended dreads after my exams end, but my hair is only about 4 inches long! Would I be able to install them at his length? :)
The only video I was able to find where someone was actually doing it to them self .. I have been so nervous to put mine In but watching you do this gives me confidence that I can do the back of my head ... I'm going to start in a little while .. I'm nervous but excited
I have a whole video playlist with other installing videos! Hope it helps! Thank you x

***** There's two mirrors, one behind her (the one you can see) and one in front of her. What you're seeing is the reflection of the mirror in front of her in the one behind her.

She had a second mirror in front of her but it was just angled to the side so you couldn't see it. That confused me for a second to haha😜

they look stunning! quick question, does your hair need to be a certain length for the braid to hold the dread properly? i have shoulder length hair, would this work for me? thanks x
Pretty cool can you tell me how long it takes to finish
I wanted to order dreads off Betsy but I'm not sure how many I need both of the sides of my heads are shaved so I have a faux hawk. I hair is very thick and grows fast. How many would you recommend
+Molly Dykins a full head can be up to 30+ depending on how thick the dreads are. Probs need about 15-20 for a hawk.
Dreadlock Q&A video is now live on my youtube channel ! :)
This is awesome I'm new to your channel by the way and I love your videos already
Hope you don't Mind my question: Are all of the Merino Wool dreads by Cyberlox Double Ended ones?

I can't wait to try this! On My To-Do List but how long do you suggest you’re hair too be & Any other tips/tricks to wrapping,Cleaning, uninstalling? 💌
Can you get them wet? Also not having to wash my hair for six weeks sounds wonderful! How does the hair look when you take them out?

Where can I get these I love it
you're video's are amazing 😊 ive always wanted dreads now i have them :) xc
Tess, I have particularly long hair (middle of my back). How can I make dreads that are longer? Can I layer them and twist and steam them together?
Sure! You can also buy dreads, I bought mine at cyberloxshop.com, and they are about 55cm. :)
+Charlie Seveen Thanks!
ive got a question .. when you go to wash your haiir , you dont remove it , but do you put shampoo only at the roots ????
I guess so yes Hun, I like to use dry shampoo. X
Is it comfortable to sleep on? 😱 I want to try these so badly! Also, can you wash your hair while wearing them? Thank you xxx
Hello! Quick question about your haircolor/hairdye thing. I really love this color, and I'm dyeing my hair pink next Tuesday! I know you havent had them for a while but what was your expirience with your washing routine when you couldn't get away with dry shampoo anymore?
You can get the dreads wet. Just rub the shampoo/conditioner on your roots and wash it out as normal. :)
+Charlie Seveen the soap won't be stuck in the dreads ? :)
+alien soup Not if you rinse and squeeze them enough :)
Charlie Seveen okay thanks :)
Love dread Lock's would love to have Them
your tutorial was just what I was looking for my hair!!! you use a great method n.n but i have a question: how did you wash your hair with the dreads on? i hope you can answer me, thanks!
(and sorry for the bad english, hope you're able to undertand me but english is not my language, I speak spanish :P)
hiii i love your videos you're so cute!
i was wondering, how many DE dreads do you need for your entire head ?
That depends, about 40-60, depending how thick you want it to be. :)
Can you/do you have to wash your hair with them in? Also how long will they last before you have to take them out? Xx
Ive been wanting to do this to my hair lol thanks for the tutorials haha
+lynlovescake
awesome video. super helpful :D
Do you use rubber bands to secure your braids or do they stay on their own?
I’m really wanting to try this!! I’m so bored of my hair I need to try something new!
How many does it take to do your whole head, and yes it is good tutorial.. I'd like to know if you do the front the same way.
Depends on the thickness of the dreads a full head can be anywhere between 30 - 60. Yes you do the front the same way.
Hey Tess! About how many double ended dreads do you install in your hair?
amazing that you braided them in all by yourself : O
hii sweetheart, I have a question, did you bought the custom wool dreads or the synthetic ones?
xoxo
arghhh so helpful! :O :O Gonna make these when I have the time ^_____^
do your roots get tired of the weight of the dreads and fall off? i heard that it can happen as well and it's the only thing holding me back from getting dreads
I'm planning on installing double ended dreads after my exams end, but my hair is only about 4 inches long! Would I be able to install them at his length? :)
Can you do that with short hair too?
Hey man can you use this method to instal single ended dreads ?
How do you maintain the locks and keep them clean for those six weeks?
Wow super cool!
How long did it take you to do the whole head ???
Looks great btw ❤️❤️
Xo
ClosedSecrets a good few hours... x
