Lived in Rockwall for 21 years near John King Blvd, now moving closer to the Lubbock area. Bought 7 acres in Rockwall in 2003 for dirt cheap @ $ 4300 per acre. Couldn't stand the property tax anymore so I sectioned it off into 7 pieces and sold it over 3 years, the last acre is pending sale, and I am trying to milk every penny from these fine people with pockets full of money that are moving from the east and west coast to this great city and state. Traffic is horrible ( according to my standards), but everything else is good if you don't mind paying high property tax and dealing with HOA, it's a fine place to be. However, if you expect natural scenery like tall trees or mountains, you gonna be disappointed, like my grandpappy used to say "This land is a good land but it is flatter than a preacher's praise and you can't grow a thing in this here soil but disappointment".
This guy doesn’t seem to be from here.. starting with “highway two hundred and five”. Two-Oh-Five. Second.. the traffic? An hour to get to Fort Worth? Good luck getting out of Rockwall in less than an hour. Grew up there. Parents still live there. I flat out refuse to go back if I don’t have to because it’s infuriating to get there and get out. Accident on 30? (Which is daily…) everyone re-routes to 66. My parent’s neighborhood would back up in residential streets from people trying to get out. Accident on 66 AND 30? You better call into work or have a full tank of gas because you’re not moving for *hours*.
