Promise me we won't go into the nightclub. I feel so fucked up when I'm in there. Can't tell the bouncers from the customers, and I don't know which ones I prefer. Promise me we won't go into the nightclub. I really think that it's obscene. What kind of people go to meet people some place they can't be heard or seen?
LYRICS Wound up drunk again on Robson Street That's strange, 'cause we always agree At the start of every evening That's the last place we'd wanna be Coffee drinkers, dressed in black with no sugar They don't give me no respect They say "Look, here comes another one." I don't know what they mean yet I say Keep it light enough to travel Keep it light enough to travel Don't let it all unravel Keep it light enough to travel Promise me we won't go into that nightclub I feel so screwed up when I'm in there Can't tell the bouncers from the customers I dunno which ones I prefer Promise me we won't go into that nightclub I really think that it's obscene What kind of people go to meet people Somewhere they can't be heard or seen? I say Keep it light enough to travel Smashed the window at the logging company Just to get a little release Had to throw down my accordion To get away from the police Keep it light enough to travel
Nice work ! A simple and evocative tribute to the Tanyas.Great use of TH-cam. Just two possible improvements - Add a few more images, and speed them up a bit.
I saw this video several months ago and it was 100% live concert footage. Now you only get stills. It used to be my 2nd favourite Tanyas' live track after "Scattered Leaves'. What happened? It's just not the same without the live footage.
@ranfranthompson But wait..they`re playing the Winnipeg Folk Festival,in July.Get on up there with a camera or tell someone you know `round there to go.
I have always been just stupid why main stream music is popular when this is all of the genre put in one group it's just strange people don't listen to the music they listen to the story of artist on the road nothing about the sound of music.
Love their music! Samantha is brilliant❤ They all are!
All the best songs sound like they're on the verge of collapse..! It's just brilliant
One of Geoff Berner's great songs from him and his band The Terror of Tiny Town. ...and the Tanyas do it so well!
Ty for this
So glad to have discovered Frasey Ford and the BGT. GREAT Americana!!! Thank you!
Except they are Canadian.
Just can't describe how much I love this song
Me too!!!!
Songs don't get this raw and true much, even in folk/country which practically invented raw and true. Blessings to The Be Good Tanyas for this song.
