@@HellInternAKACandyMD I don’t necessarily rely on news for certain facts like this I know how to find the truth. But you can verify this example with any source. I worked in Finance (mortgage lending) when Trump got elected. I remember this dude did away with the Mortgage insurance premium cuts soon as he got in office (an initiative started under the Obama admin). This single-handedly caused my coworkers and I to all be layed off less than two months afterwards, along with multiple thousands throughout the whole industry. The reason is because under the FHA program now that mortgage insurance cuts went away, millions of people were now in eligible to be refinanced, and that was the business we were in. Those jobs never came back, and then at the end of his term Covid 19 came and caused more jobs loss.

It isn't disturbing that the GOP wants to re-write your recent memories. What is disturbing is that for their followers, it works. We see it in comments all the time. Some talking-point hits the news for a few days that directly contradicts something most of the country witnessed being the exact opposite. MAGA gets right on board, and believes the new storyline. And gets incensed if you point out that they just mind-shifted into a parallel universe from where they were a week earlier.
There are times that I genuinely wonder if the shotcallers of the GOP are surprised by how easily their constituents are blinded by them.
People here in KY still blame "Democrats in Frankfort" for being poor and other issues, despite the fact that the GOP has controlled the state Senate since 2000, and the House since 2016 with a Republican Governor from 2015 to 2019, as well.

I have kept journals and blogs for 45 years. I do take precautions of saving all my writings and being able to go back to them for real time reference. I know most people are not as dedicated to this, but it is important to me to see that when someone says, "Reagan said this," I can refer back to see what he really said. This is especially important with regard to Trump who will say conflicting things in the same speech.
I understand what you're saying. I was well trained and kept my notes on many subjects for years.
Now I use Google to find information of all types and media. It was a great love of my life to have my private library of all my thoughts and interests. I let that go now and use the Internet.
