    Robert, thank you!
I am a former Republican. I was a teenager in the early 80s and LOVED debating my liberal friends. It was fun because we disagreed on policy, but agreed that what we were suggesting was for the good of all Americans. The end goal was the same. Yes, we differed on the Cold War and military spending. But we agreed that the people living under Communism didn't have that luxury of debate. I miss those days.
Now we have a GOP built on nothing but hate, and returning our nation to some make-believe Rockwell print with the woman in the kitchen and the man coming home for dinner to his white suburban utopia.
Reagan was respectful and admired immigrants. He gave many amnesty. Reagan wanted an assault weapons ban. Reagan called out dictators for what they were, evil.
Trump is a vile, self-serving tin-pot and has no place in the party of Lincoln, Eisenhower or Reagan.

In the 1830's mixed Native Americans/whites came down from Canada. The women had married the white trappers, traders and had mixed children. They settled at French Prairie long before most white pioneers went to Oregon. But this was happening all along the US/CANADIAN border. Their names were English, French and Scottish and their descendants live all over the US.
Don't think you can tell white people what to do. I went to high school with some of the descendants and met others in adult life.
YOU CANNOT JUDGE HOW THESE PEOPLE WILL APPEAR.
      SOME ARE BLOND.
IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO TELL THEIR RACES.
PLEASE STOP THINKING YOU ARE SUPERIOR TO WHITE PEOPLE IN THE US. MANY HAVE MORE RIGHT TO LIVE HERE THAN ANY IMMIGRANT.

What hate are you speaking of? Native Americans and Hispanic Americans wanted a wall along the border long before Trump was even on the radar, politically. Are you saying he should compliment the cartels and illegals?
A tribal elder was on public broadcasting years ago - about 15 years ago speaking to some young Hispanics and asking them to stop crossing the border into their reservation - they just laughed at her.
So, who are you to complain about the "hate" and be more specific. You just want the affection of the cartel members or whom?
And another thing. Sociologists in welfare offices do not appreciate the illegals constantly calling or begging for benefits.
      You need to grow up.

How is $5 a gallon gas and expensive groceries common sense? How is teaching our children that there are 97 genders common sense? Or declaring Transexual Day of Visibility right before Easter? Or forcing people to buy EV's that won't work in winter? Is that common sense? Or allowing men to compete against women in women's sports? Or allowing women to abort their 9 month old baby right before it's born? Or allowing women to have three, four, and even five abortions so they don't have to take a pill? Or giving kids who chose to go to very expensive colleges free tuition? What is common sense about forcing our active duty military in uniform to attend transexual drag shows on base during work hours?

Yup. I’m a relatively conservative guy on most issues and have been a registered republican since my first election in 2006. That R next to my name used to be a badge of honor. I used to enjoy speaking with people who were democrats because there were good conversations to be had and things to learn from each other.
Now every time politics arises I have to say “well I’m relatively conservative but don’t worry I’m NOT a Trump guy!” The fact that I have to make that qualifying statement to avoid embarrassment tells you all you need to know. I never thought things would get like this. It’s equal parts sad and infuriating

Seriously, MAGA has pulled so far to the right, the Democratic... support could become liberal and conservative parties. Almost half of all voters are registered as no party. Non-aligned, in my state. Most are fiscal conservatives and social liberals, to greater or lesser 'lean.' We have that system here in Australia... though we call it 'Preferential Voting'. While we still pretty much have a two party duopoly, our third parties and independents still have a better chance of establishing a presence with enough power to put those major parties on notice.
In the New South Wales State Parliament, my local member is an independent who managed to win what was once considered a 'safe seat' for Labor. And he has done more for my local electorate than Labor ever did. In fact, he is one of the few people I can honestly say I'm happy to be voting FOR. The ideal of a parliament of independents is very difficult to imagine in a modern mass society, but yes, having more than a few parties can work. Of course, a 'first past the post' electoral system works against such viewpoint diversity.

2 parrties are not enough, and the US system, especially for voring the president, is not anywhere close to fair. It does not matter if all californians vote for one candidate, because the middle west states are overrepresented. A fair vote would count any vote the same.
