Considering this handling model has been worked on by Max himself with his input as well as feedback from a lot of the other drivers as well, I’m struggling to see why and how people are complaining about it and as someone who drove all 3 of the beta’s, I personally really like the handling in this game. Unless codemasters are either saying Max and the other drivers had a bigger input than they actually did, or have gone and changed what the actual drivers have suggested, I think it’s a case of people expecting an F1 car to handle differently to how they actually handle which is a car that’s incredibly direct, easy to drive, with a ridiculous amount of grip and downforce, and a car that literally does whatever you want it to do until you ask it to do something it won’t
Well didn’t the previous handling dev leave? Pretty sure he was replaced by the handling devs of project cars 3…. which if you know, you know how that game was

It’s cuz these are more realistic to real life and becoming more a sim game then arcade type game which is a good step in right direction. Even if creators aren’t digging it, they’re still gonna buy and play it
I believe the handling has great potential. The physics work they have mentioned is spot on. The physics concepts are correct and align with what I would have pursued if I hadn't left the company in February 2023. If it doesn't feel right, I think it's only a matter of time before they nail the balance of the handling model. Hopefully, this will happen in a short period of time. I wouldn't despair yet. PS: EA doesn't pay me anymore; I work for another company now, so I gain nothing by saying this. This is just my honest opinion. I like the series, I do want to play the game now, just like any other player.
@Maier___ that's the reason for difficulty and assists settings. But 2024 is based off of a controller so F that, gonna go back to Automobilista 2 and wait for Assetto Corsa Evo later this year. Casuals can enjoy F1 24.
As Lando and Max said (and they're real life drievrs), the feeling you get from the game is pretty accurate to real life. So, even if EA doesn't greet creators, I think that's the right direction to march. After all, a game being 3s, 4s faster than real life in completely absurd.
It was most likely just part of the marketing. Go watch Jarno around Qatar. Going full lock into every single corner is quicker than driving normally, not to mention it defies physics
@@WAOF1_Toby Someone mentioned it's basically Alonso's driving style in 05... It's actually mental how F1 creators said the handling was great back in the trailer, I know they lack integrity but jesus.
The “reviews” max and lando did were pure marketing and both seemed extremely uninterested in the game. Max has said the most realistic f1 cars you can drive in the sim are the W12 and W13 on iracing. I have driven both and they feel nothing like the beta for this game, in fact F1 23 was far more accurate although still very “simcade” like. This year they feel like a pure arcade game.
Glad you got early access! Hopefully you can be honest about the pricing at least. Basically an F1 23 update sold as a new $70 game, which is ridiculous. My thoughts on the new handling model (as I did play the Beta): unnecessary change just for the sake of them touting change. 23's was great. 24... eh. I couldn't bring myself to play 24's Beta too much (just under 5 hours) because of 24's price, but handling is... definitely different. At least the external engines actually sound like they're tuned properly this time. But YIKES at 11:49 with the Ferrari range for 24. Sounds like it's running at 25k RPM. How do they get that so wrong???
How in the same paragraph you can contradict yourself so easily is so funny. Dude said ''basically an f1 23 update sold as a new game'' then also said ''they changed the handling for the sake of change, 23's was great''. Do you want the re-skin? Or to complain about a new game feeling different? So funny how small your brain is
10:20 There is even the same brake marks within the asphalt, copy and paste, on EVERY track. Pause @10:20 And look at the brake marks and markings on the track. And even the same people beside the track, everything the same!
think the reason why the handling is like this is because max gave his view on what handling should be... which is very oversteery and drives very sharp and direct
Played the last beta my view the car had great turn in but mid corner had horrible understeer I also thought the AI were so fast on the straight I usually race on 103 AI I struggled against 80 AI I didn't notice the lock to lock though maybe they added that into the game you have I assume yours is final game
Sound design is a big winner in 24. Much more nuanced engine notes especially at the high (presence) end. Broadcast is a massive improvement with way more going on in the sound, especially under deceleration.
EA have been calling these changes as "better feel" but from the sounds of it they've made it more control pad friendly. I don't think I could race a legit sim and go race on f1 24.. I think I'll be passing again this year.
Nice to hear thav the rear is more planted this year, its something I've been struggling with since 2021 because my driving style needs the car to be planted not a snappy car that will just bottom out at every corner so if this means they're returning back to the 2020 style of handling then I'm happy.
Imo from watching it Looks a Bit Like f1 2018 because that was the last game i feel Like the Cars was more oversteery and really pointy i mean setups back then was 1/7 Wings because the car had so much Front end and and it was impossible to Spin and from what i heard and See the kerbs Are exactly the same then f1 2018 but imo a handling System should be more Balance imo it doesnt matter if you Like understeer or oversteer you should be Able to Go quick either way and Not have a Meta in a Racing game thats just wrong imo in real life we See it every week leclerc and Sainz have completely different driving style and setup the car completly different but still they can be within 0.050 and that should be possible in the Game too
The turn in on 24 looks like when ur playing on a pad, when u turn in and modulate the throttle so it doesn’t wash out in understeer and wait for the car to turn.
F 24 feels like an upgrade in everything but handling and HUD... I haven't played 24 yet but F 23 feels so smooth in comparison handling wise. That's a shame cause everything else seems to be better. They messed up with the most important sadly
They all complain about the handling because its more challenging. And the aggressive driving style only works in time trail. In carrer mode you will destroy your trires, which is realistic
Yep, it’s so sad because it seemed like they were building real momentum and adding great features from around f1 2019-2021 . And since we’ve only had one decent game.
@HJDUNSDEN That doesnt make sense though. They were faster this year than last, before upgrades. These should be faster than last year, doesnt matter if this is the start of the game.
One thing I will say I like about the new game, is that they finally fixed the lighting issues. For too long have I seen a yellowy-orange mclaren. Or a pink-red Ferrari. Other than that, as a controller player (not by choice), the game feels VERY good and feels like a step-forward. But having watched Gillion's video, that's bcs it was made for controller players apparently. So, hopefully they fix it (whether this was intentional or an issue they have been unable to fix yet) bcs it feels like its on the right track, just very sloppily executed.
@@NoHacksTSR Bro look at the side-by-side. The F1 23 McLaren ISNT papaya orange, its a shoddy glossy yellow with a tint of orange. Same for Ferrari, although they fixed it towards the end of the game cycle, the red started off as a glossy pinkosh red, not the blood red that Ferrari was running last year. It's actually a YOU thing.
I wanted to hear the Renault engine, but in the gameplay you didn't picked Alpine. I hope the reason isn't their livery. Eh, even without the Alpine, F1 23 is Yamaha vs Mercedes, Mercedes and Mercedes, while F1 24 become Ferrari vs the patched 2014 Renault vs the 2023 Honda.

Apparently their lead handling developer mostly developed and tested on a controller and the only time it was tested on a sim racing setup was on a desk mounted belt driven wheel and non LC pedals. I’m a console player but even my sim racing cockpit would be better to test the game on as it’s at least a direct drive wheel mounted on an aluminum profile cockpit with LC pedals. For them to develop the officially licensed F1 game on such poor equipment is inexcusable. I don't understand this. Drive a fast go kart in real life and tell me you don't have fun or is that too realistic. The handling model needs a bit realism as the physics at the moment don't make sense to what we see a race car drive like
@@jahrome4561 definitely this. What makes a fun sim or simcade is first and foremost consistent physics and car behavior, if you don’t know what the car is gonna do it it’s not fun. Lastly but in no particular order is a good amount of realism, if the car behaves and acts like a car it lets your brain filter in real life experience to help fill in the gaps.

that for sure is how a f1 car should drive
you seem to struggle with the idea that the drivers are getting paid to say those things
i wonder why
People are complaining about it because it’s more realistic so it’s harder therefore people say it’s bad even tho there are assists they can turn on if they’re struggling
@@Hyper_Fish yes Greco left which was a shame as he was really in the mind of pushing the game towards a more sim like nature which would’ve been really good for the series, but yeah having the PC devs is never a good sign
one thing i think is amazing is the trackside sounds. For years they were awful but now they actually sound realistic
4:28 did you just beat Thomas Ronhaar LOL
No he didn't, we was 3 tenths down from Thomas
I think setups will make this game not "dogshit" as to quote Jarno, but I still have hope for this new handling system
Finally they nailed the replay mode sound :)))))
I think it’s gonna be a good game idk what the content creators and whining about
It’s real life dubbing sounds, not synced with the game
It’s cuz these are more realistic to real life and becoming more a sim game then arcade type game which is a good step in right direction. Even if creators aren’t digging it, they’re still gonna buy and play it
its not realistic at all tho
@@skitzexe except that they actually used real driver input into making the handling so what does that mean then
I believe the handling has great potential.
EA turning F1 into Project Cars 3, just for casuals.
yea but in a way thats normal cause newcomers that like f1 shouldnt have a hard time like in a sim
@Maier___ that's the reason for difficulty and assists settings. But 2024 is based off of a controller so F that, gonna go back to Automobilista 2 and wait for Assetto Corsa Evo later this year. Casuals can enjoy F1 24.
Suspension movement looks good
The offboard sounds are sick it has to be said
As Lando and Max said (and they're real life drievrs), the feeling you get from the game is pretty accurate to real life. So, even if EA doesn't greet creators, I think that's the right direction to march. After all, a game being 3s, 4s faster than real life in completely absurd.
Maybe they got paid to say it' the same feeling?
They get like ten billion bucks for saying that lmao
I love how you address this topic with such honesty.
That’s my problem with how forza motorsport was , f1 games and even the ride series. Equivalent of fifa each year that’s just a update and rip off.
How in the same paragraph you can contradict yourself so easily is so funny.
Dude said ''basically an f1 23 update sold as a new game'' then also said ''they changed the handling for the sake of change, 23's was great''. Do you want the re-skin? Or to complain about a new game feeling different? So funny how small your brain is
Melbourne has been updated a bit the exit of turn 2 walls closer to track and the same for the exit of turn 6, turn 7 is still the same.
F1 23 handling was genuinely so good now people starting to realise
Imo from watching it Looks a Bit Like f1 2018 because that was the last game i feel Like the Cars was more oversteery and really pointy i mean setups back then was 1/7 Wings because the car had so much Front end and and it was impossible to Spin and from what i heard and See the kerbs Are exactly the same then f1 2018 but imo a handling System should be more Balance imo it doesnt matter if you Like understeer or oversteer you should be Able to Go quick either way and Not have a Meta in a Racing game thats just wrong imo in real life we See it every week leclerc and Sainz have completely different driving style and setup the car completly different but still they can be within 0.050 and that should be possible in the Game too
The replay and engine sound of Formula 24 is much better and looks very realistic.
HONESTLY THE SOUND ITS ALMOST PERFECT but for the rest, ok the upgrade the circuits but nothing else.
Simpliest way I can put it, It feels like you're driving on stilts.
Flat out on curbs without spinning out.., finally a game where I can make it to the finish ;)
I'm doing my team career mode in f1 24 I can't wait till Tuesday too get stuck in 😊
The turn in on 24 looks like when ur playing on a pad, when u turn in and modulate the throttle so it doesn’t wash out in understeer and wait for the car to turn.
None of us have driven an f1 car so we cant really judge its just something we'll have to adapt to
F 24 feels like an upgrade in everything but handling and HUD... I haven't played 24 yet but F 23 feels so smooth in comparison handling wise.
That's a shame cause everything else seems to be better. They messed up with the most important sadly
so basically what im getting is to be fast i have to aggressively saw at the wheel like alonso in his prime renault days?
I wonder if this game still feels good on the pad like f1 23
They all complain about the handling because its more challenging. And the aggressive driving style only works in time trail. In carrer mode you will destroy your trires, which is realistic
The EAification of F1 is fully here now, such a shame
Yep, it’s so sad because it seemed like they were building real momentum and adding great features from around f1 2019-2021 . And since we’ve only had one decent game.
F1 23 still has better handling and engine sound than 24, even with handling updates.
I have to say though the sound especially from like the replay mode sounds so much better
The jump from 22-23 was massive. I’ll stick with 23. It truly is better than 22 in many ways. 24 looks like garbage
I swear atp 70% of just people here are following the "bitching" strat cuz "fuck it"
I think the handling is different because cars are different, this year all cars are faster than they were last year
Why are the cars in this game slower than those in F1 23 when in real life it's the other way round?
Because your comparing the end of one game to the start of the other …
@HJDUNSDEN That doesnt make sense though. They were faster this year than last, before upgrades.
These should be faster than last year, doesnt matter if this is the start of the game.
@@kyperactive everyone was used to the F1 23 handling model, so naturally they will be slower on the launch of F1 24
I think the times are meant to be closer to Real life but i dont know
@@streetlite26 But their speeds are somehow lower than last year? Setup doesnt explain away that...
What are you talking about? That’s a YOU thing because colours have been fine
Thing is if you saw at the wheel your tires are gonna be done by lap 5. Watch Brendon Leigh’s video on it. I wish i didnt preorder
You can always cancel pre-orders
QHEN THE CAR TURNS IT LOOKS LIKE A GAMR FOR MOBILE
Got to drive in the beta and absolutely hated it, hopefully they update the drivability quickly…
Js from now seeing it I think this is gonna be a good game idk what the content creators are on about, they always think a f1 game is bad until they start getting paid from it, I think it’s gonna be amazing
I have an aggressive driver style that should suit this game so in theory I should enjoy it but after playing the beta the handling was horrible. It feels way too much like a pure arcade game and extremely weird to drive even for someone like me who is generally drive more aggressive.
@@-._.-._.-Sully-._.-._.- it’s a brand new game, Gowen said he regrets criticizing the game bc it takes a few minutes to get used to it, we’ve been on the same f1 game for years and now we got a whole new one so it’s gonna be weird
@@christianAlston806 You can definitely get used to it but that doesn’t mean it’s not a horrible handling model. Jarno Opmeer and every other F1 sim racer has said it’s horrible. Isn’t Gowen a nascar sim guy? Don’t think I care too much what he thinks went the top F1 sim league drivers are not happy with it. I felt it first hand in the beta and it apparently has not changed since then. It feels too much like an arcade like racing game and like it’s built solely with controllers in mind. No one expects the game to be a full sim but to make it handle like a controller based game is just down right disrespectful to its player base.
@@-._.-._.-Sully-._.-._.- this when I heard he was driving a couple times a week on a thrustmaster tspc, I knew it was over. The only step down they could take is testing it on my Logitech g29 haha.
@@HallucinatingHedgehogs you would think they would do testing on the official F1 Esports League equipment considering the drivers are forced to use that equipment and are competing for money on it, or at least something similar. A desk mounted TSPC only used occasionally though? That’s wild. Might as well be a Forza title.
Me thinks youse guys gonna have a hard time to start with... I am sure you can Handle it 🙃
had an afterthought, not being able to feel where the edge of driveability is feels like taking 12 steps backwards... that`s how we get fast
@@aleksandargorgevik3415 that’s the thing I’m most concerned about. If the game feels like f122 where it was numb and lacked quality feedback then it’s not worth buying at all. Like bad physics sucks but you can adjust to that over time. You can’t drive around having not enough feeling through the wheel.
Im really disappointed for this game. I really enjoyed the handling on 23. Im concerned because im a controller player too. That was one thing great about 23. Good game for us pad players
this is easier for controller dude they just crying because its trendy
How are the engine sounds/gear ratios still sooo high pitched and off 😪
I hate that EA are trying to sell this as realistic. I dont want realism from an F1 game title, I want a fun game that rewards practice so that I can feel in control. If I want realism, I'll play iRacing.
That's the thing, more realism is actually more fun, people don't understand this. Realism doesn't = not fun. Do you think F1 drivers don't have fun driving IRL? Driving cars are fun irl not boring.
Second is good detail and quality ffb, just gives you more info and helps with driveability. Lastly but in no particular order is a good amount of realism, if the car behaves and acts like a car it lets your brain filter in real life experience to help fill in the gaps.
I’m so worried bc everyone is talking about handling. How did they ruin what seemed to be going in the right direction.
Sound is much better in 24, still curbs are way to lud in broadcast mode.
Whoever made the audios should be fired. Onboards are awful and the offboards they used real life sounds. They just dont match up to the game. And they have like 4 audios for each of breaking accelerating and traction so you are hearing the same stuff even tho every lap is different. This is a disgrace.
Payed 80$ for it. Though the only real judge is myself
Let’s not forget 2023 was the “worst handling f1 game ever” by many accounts. I bought it new, it was unplayable. Went back to f1 22 which was magic. Just came back to f1 23 because it’s on ps5 and I felt guilty for spending money and not really playing it. Now 23 is magic and 22 isn’t in the store 🤦🏼♂️ . 22 is still installed on my ps4 tho EA PUNKS!
F124 not have the same man who manage handling in the game as F123. So far i know F124 handling is under project car handling maker. So last handling maker resign or have any other project that EA or codemaster assign to
Arcadish handling, no impact running over kurbs ??? Yikes, I'll definitely skip this entry if the most basic thing... driving an F1 car behavior, isn't simulated realistically.
Bye then 👋 ✌️
@@NoHacksTSR Alleluia !
Ill be honest i could not give a shit about the new handling if the rest of the game is this similar to what it was, "revamped" career is a joke, we lost tracks from last year, and the sound is marginally better, and the game looks pretty much the same since 2016, 70€? Try again in 5 years mates
The engines sound so terrible… it’s disgusting
It it just me or does the engine sound even more quieter than last game?
That’s literally the only thing that bugs me with 24 replay but other than that the cars sound pretty good

i ask myself the same question.

I don't like at all what you said about the handling model tbh. F1 2011 was one of the worst F1 game ever. Here I see the car floating on the tarmac is not affected by the curbs whatsoever. Horrible, in one word
And the cherry on top is the engine sounds. They are even worse than last year. Ferrari gives me headache
tbh, f1 24 graphics better than f1 23, butttt f1 23 handling is way batter than f1 24 ngl

Not going to buy it until they put effort into the game tbh.
It's just an Arcade Game now with No Kerbs and really crappy unrealistic handling !!
They've completely broke the goodd direction they were going in with last years handling etc. !!
I'm not buying this years game, why bother with the headache when I want to DRIVE and RACE.....Not play a 10yr old arcade game where even the Ai is now unrealistic and inconsistant !?!?
I'll just stick with F1 '23 instead.....It's a LOT better than this and worth using the Wheel, Pedals and Racing Rig I bought !!
How can they release the game in this state.....Especially as it's a massive Pro E-Sports game as well.....Shocking !!
looks soo much better than 23, all i do is time trial for the past year so i really know how 23 feels, (yes i can race lol) the 24 car turning snappy at high speed is great 👍 looks more realistic too like the 2020 era but slightly slower
