My Wo Long Review --> [ th-cam.com/video/3eLGncTmin8/w-d-xo.html ] I forgot to mention, or maybe I did, getting +10 was easy with this build since doing the Two kings quest made it super easy. However you have to sub out tengen, and equip a guardian spirit talisman. The set up is the same in the video, use either Mizuchi (for water debuff but awkward to aim) or Daiba-Washi. Shoot tachibana > run up and do final blow > immediately dodge Honda then use spirit talisman > both will fall and enable another back stab > usually takes two if your damage is not high. But with 3 talismans you should kill both easily. And boom, repeat until you get enough +5's/6's to make a +10 :)
Yu F Technically he wants a fight between Samurai and Rifles plus single sword blow victories make Samurai blow all over the inside of their armour. Besides, fuck him and his sprinting Iai, why the fuck cant I do that?
A backstab is just another tactic to stay alive on the battlefield; asking for a fair fight? Ni-oh isn't anime! If you see a chance to end a fight in a single blow, *take it!* I assure, when he drains you of all you Ki, and you're open for a grapple *he wont hesitate*
tommyirish86 well prepare to be amazed. someone sent me a screenshot of their gameplay record. 300k in one hit. so far mine says 59,029 o_o. but I also use kusarigama.
Char Aznable probably not I havent played in a few updates but Im sure things are different now. Lots have been nerfed by now. Kusarigama probably isn't even fun anymore.
What do you expect LOL? This game is an MMO style game like Diablo so a little gear grinding + understanding of those special effect in game are important LMAO
Awesome build videos! I've tried every one you've posted so far and they've kept the game fresh and fun, can't wait to give this one a try!! Katana is my favorite weapon in this game!! Thanks!
This is why I love this game. Thank you for this! I have been running a spear and red demon send build I made myself that has been pretty good. but even a clip like this can help me to see what I am doing wrong. Thank you and I will try this out
Jesus!!! WTF...😳 Now that is what you call ONE HIT...👌🏿 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 brilliant mate! I’m still getting use to this amazing game. Could only dream of getting this good and becoming that strong! 🙏🏾
Man my build was all over the place. Didnt wanna look up any while in my first run. Now that I'm in MG+, things got just unreasonably hard with my build. Thanks very much for a strong, focused build. Respeccing right now :D
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe just having the Ishida Masamune equipped as your weapon is enough to get the 30% bonus for Night Rain. Roll a 19.9% Night Rain skill on top of that with an additional close combat critical being in the Honda clan. Then you can equip Hikoemon in your off hand for an additional 20% Close Combat critical. No need for Gallantry armor. You could replace it with four pieces of Sanada and one piece Kingo, or four pieces Kingo, one piece Sanada.
You can raise your damage infinetly if you're clan faithfull, specially with honda, might not look apealling but your clan stats increase the more glory and time you spend in the clan. Im in honda(beggiming stat is 7% more skill damage) been in that ever since I unlocked tea house, I have now 15.8%(+8.8) skill damage in my clan.
PWARGaming Yes bro last clan battle I got 5th place Clan Rank in Honda and honestly, The more glory I get the more skill damage I do, my damage resist to first hits is hitting 80%+
If you have an increased stat from being loyal to a clan , and switch.. will you still have that bonus if you join it again later? (leave and find out KEK)
symbs Havent tried myself since I never left honda but I want to go ahead and say no? You might lose what you gained during the ongoing war but not the fixed stats from past wars. I think
Thanks for the video. I appreciate all the explanations with all your choices. I'm giving Nioh another try. But wasn't sure how to spec my level 160 swords character effectively. I'll give it a try tonight. Though, I imagine things have been nerfed or changed. But it will be better than my current, not that efficient build.
reminds me of Ditronus' build that uses final blow and damage from behind with Aya Komori as spirit guardian. but this one wrecks humans not just yokai! well done.
I love that they included a refashion function in this game. Alotta games I can't wear buff gear because the clothing mismatch annoys me or I hate the design they wemt with but now I can just take the gear, find something I do like and change its appearance. I spent a while running round looking like a heavy samurai only to leap several meters towards my opponents to cut right through in what was actually full Shinobi gear. Love it
Nice video. Also, good job finding out about the damage potential of Night Rain, to be honest I really like the move but found the start up, and damage lacking compared to the tried and true draw move, especially in terms of combos. However, now I'll have to use that armor chest piece from your video, and see what's up.
Hey bro. Just to let you know. It's quarantine and I play nioh again. Unfortunately, I lost the saved data which means, it's back to zero. Fortunately, your video is still around. Gotta love the old days bro. Stay strong, stay safe and let's kick some azz.
i think this build is still viable, they didnt nerfed the damage on quickdraw and they even increased the damage of 'night rain' im still on the first game wearing full kingo set and building towards this crazy build!! thanks for posting the build!!
Glad i came across this, was using the Suzuku blade/reaper build for a long time and was getting really boring, tried this out and it is nice to still feel strong with a different playstyle. Have changed it up slightly though dropping the Daiichi and Mikawa (want to get away from critical build and i'm happy with Iai) sets to grab 2 pieces of Yagyu and doubling it up as a parry build, my timing sucks so this helps a lot. All in all very nice build. Slower than some of the others but i think its more fun than blade spin spam.
I'm trying to prolong the interest in the late game for people who may have come into ng+ to work towards something, or already beat everything with x wpn/build and may want to try something different. People still progressing generally are still having fun with the game so those builds aren't that essential for me to make imo. There's vids out there of lower lvl builds people make, but generally also you simply scale back damage for my builds. If i have 99 in a stat, take away 89 pts and now you can play the build 89 levels lower, it's that easy. You'll never be efficient lower level, but late game builds generally don't "need" most of their pts, they either go into extra dmg or better surviving the later areas.
Dude.. your content is fire.. I must admit, these unique intros and music got me hooked lol. I've been playing Nioh for a month now too and while I beat the whole game and NG+ with relative ease and skill, I still don't do as MASSIVE damage as the one shown in your videos with various builds. Yeah I use weakness talismans but at the end of the day, it's still not that big. Guess all those small bonuses stack up for a huge boost. I got three sets (divine) based on my mood at that time which were Red Demon, Head of Iga and National Unity (primarily for amrita & Tengen Kujaku). I've been forging and farming stuff for Kingo and Sanada for a couple hours now (yeah I saw your vid like 3 hours ago) and still gotta grind a lot of weapons so I can disassemble em for fragments. My main question is, which build should I actually use? I'm honestly sick of reassigning the points and skills all the time and I just wanna try to rek shit up for fun till the DLC and update roll out. I'm fine with not doing ULTRA MASSIVE damage but it looks super fun lol. Tell me which build of yours do you personally prefer. So far I've seen the Susanoo, the Blender, the Nippon Steel and that's it I guess. My National Unity set was so close to 150 +10 but now I gotta work on that all over again.. ahhh shit
Susanoo would be the strongest clearer, Nippon would be the easiest to grind for +10, and Blender is a mix of both but overall weaker than both at their best strengths. Just realized I got that trinity going on haha. But yah, I would say susanoo was the most OP from the get go as opposed to the others. Wpn upgrade doesn't matter for it compared to the others, however there's a lot more going towards the other gear that needs to be right before it can work and sustain itself. At the end of the day however, you can just use a couple spirit stones per level to keep LW up majority of the time.
I'm level 215 rn in NG+. I've got a shit ton of Reincarnation books and I was in the middle of trying the nippon build when I gave up in confusion and thought about asking you directly lol. Is it possible for me to use some other weapon than the Kusarigama in the Susanoo build? Or is that build Dex & Kusarigama exclusive? I don't mind using that weapon though. I prefer sword as No.1 and the rest can be anything (already got the plat). I enjoyed using all weapons but in the end, I just love the discipline that comes with the standard Katana (just sharing my views here lol)
you can go sword, you would just sub out sanada for fanatic, pump up stamina since you need some 31-36 to be in b agility with fanatics set, then keep dex at 14, and pump into heart for damage. Won't be as strong, but same playstyle, just spam light attacks, then for bosses use the living wpn special from sword tree. Slower for sure, but still fairly fast for what its worth. Its a very simple build, but you can't really have any fun outside of that lw since your damage would be meh if not in critical, unlike Nippon. So if you really want to enjoy sword, I'd probably give Nippon a 2nd chance, just copy paste what you can from the vid and work towards whatever you're missing little by little. You don't need to forge everything, you can just use gear you find, sacrifice a little damage (pts outta heart/str to be able to wear stuff) in exchange for removing some grinding.
So basically Nippon is the build which brings out the sword's true potential while Susanoo being best with the Kusarigama and other specifics? A'ight then. I better watch the vids again to decide which one to choose lol. I've got like 2 or 3 Yasakanis and only 1 of em is worth using (almost the same stats as yours) though I sold my divine normal magatamas so I'd have to farm new ones. Oh well, can we use other fire spirits for the Susanoo build? Or is Kato the best fire guardian overall?
Thank you very much. Also a question , I heard ppl said you have to beat NG+ Epilogue Mission hundred eyes in order to convert a lv150 weapon to lv160!? Is that true or false
Star Wars :Rouge One - you will get the chance to find 160 gear by forging or by finding it if only god RnG is on your side. Yes, you can level 150 to 160.
True. Supposedly earlier lvls can yield weird numbers like 155 or 156, not sure of the mission you need to beat however to get those. 160's should be your only concern tho, you need to forge them, then you can soul match your 150 with the 160 to become, 160. Keeps its + lvls. so 150+10 becomes 160+10.
PWARGaming Btw erm need ask ya about the reforging Mechanic . My Kingo armor does not have final blow , so I have to use reforging until I gain that particular thing I want?
I don't know if anyone needs a katana. I have one at level 89 with 525 attack and it does have one very nice special effect, and i'll list the others. Damage from behind 17.5%,water damage +8,break 7,high guard ki reduction 12.2%% and the good one i was talking about change attack to(heart) A-. IF you don't like the other special effects you could always go to the black smith and reforge the stat that you want.
Love the videos man. Noob question, what does upgrading quickchange to the max level do? Just reduce its jutsu space cost or do you get more charges as well?
Both. getting all 3 means you can equip 3, but each one has its jutsu reduced from 6>5>4. So if you need more jutsu space for other things, equipping quick change II+III will only cost 9 jutsu, as opposed to the I+II, costing 11. Applies to every jutsu/magic, but most have 2 charges, meaning you get 6 total if you get and equip all 3, like carnage for example :)
Very good work mate. Tried to contact you directly but the abyssmal YT messaging system probably didn't notify you. Let me know if you see this, I have some ideas.
Will you be doing any builds in the future regarding spears? I'd love to see a video featuring my favorite weapon class, even if it can't become as powerful as your current builds.
In line to do axe this weekend or so, spear will have to be after that I'm afraid. It is the most stylish weapon, so I'm pumped to build for it more to utilize all its tools and flashiness. Just hang tight k :)
Ben Gauthier with what move did you hit that hard? the most powerful single attack I've seen with a spear is the downed attack, or are we talking overleveled?
Well the game won't tell me with what specific move it was, I'm assuming my spear seems as that is when i noticed a significant increase in my damage with a single charged triangle attack during my critical living weapon state. Now as for overlevled, that would be a redundant point, there are only a couple stats that effect spear damage a great deal and as we've seen those can be at 99 each with a relative meta level. Also just learned the game doesn't register 6 digit numbers. I could have achieved that damage with sword of execution quire easily and not have even known it. I wish I had more specifics, but I also know that everything about my current build is soely dedicated to critical condtion, every piece of equipment affects it in some way. That is best I can explain it.
I would say get B agility first, get stats to equip everything, then 32 magic and 14 ninjutsu, then pump rest into heart if you have any left. Spirit can wait a while, the main juice of tengen is the stance bonus I mentioned and that's unlocked automatically i believe. Can use Kato or jishi before tengen if you don't have it yet.
I don't see much point other than correcting "powerful" to "good" xD All sword builds got nerfed, not just this one, not much you can do to "avoid" the nerfs. final blow is still better than grapple. And hitting from behidn is still better then hitting from the front. Carnage/pill was also nerfed so every build is weaker than before
I'm actually running this build right now, After I saw this video I was so happy to see someone making a badarse Katana build that wasn't boring and a one trick pony. My damage from behind Immediately jumped from 11K to 16K and I'm only level 151. Hey project how did you get the Gallantry armour in NG+? At the moment I have Fanatic but I want the Gallantry so I can use Night Rain.
you can either farm for the smithin text from ishida from defiled holy mountain, or kill him anyways and drop his chest. Forging has less stat reqs, half less than dropped gear.
it's ee-ay quickdraw, and no night rain does not out damage it if you know how to use it, you can get a skill that lets you use ee-ay strike on a ki pulse, that means if you can get good at the timing you can combo on a ee-ay strike with another ee-ay strike infinitely, you can also use it with that skill to combo on a parry, parry - counter - ee-ay strike - final blow, you can slam an enemy with a combo and then when theyre staggering you can move immediately into a quickdraw. albeit itd be less helpful with a one hit build like yours, but for normal play ee-ay strike completely overshadows night rain even with that 30% bonus you got.
Sorry but no, I just proved it out damaged iai. Iai for sure has its uses, but for yokai nightrain is stronger. You can do the exact same thing for nightrain (ki pulse into it to raise damage). Humans definitely iai is better, but for yokai nightrain trumps iai.
nope i tested it and night rain breaks the combo, when used after a parry night rain hits once and then the enemy stands up to block the rest which means you cant continue the combo into final blow, with Iai quickdraw when you do that its like you hit two final blows in one attack. and nightrain may be able to combo into itself like iai quickdraw but the activation is longer and easier to interrupt than a string of quickdraws im telling you, take off your op build and test out my quickdraw combo: Haze - Haze II - Iai quickdraw III - final blow, the quickdraw does around the same damage as the final blow so its like you hit them with two of them in one attack. although now thinking about it i guess youre right, you cant use parrys against big yokai, in that case you might be right about night rain being better against them
I know haze+iai destroys humans lol that's not my argument, I agree that iai is better in that case. And if you're strong enough you don't even have to use iai, you just backstab and kill them after a single haze. Night rain sucks against humans. But the argument was for yokai. night rain will outdamage iai 1 for 1 with daichi equipped by a pretty significant amount. So since the game is 50/50 human/yokai, both skills have their use :) Plus it allows you to use more than just the same generic move everyone uses on everything for once haha
ok i apologize, i thought you meant overall, not just against yokai. i guess you could put night rain on low or high, and Iai on mid then just swap to mid when youre going up against humans and go to low or high for yokai.
with this build? yah. Blender can't one shot most bosses, needs two (last i remember), so this would be similar. Perhaps swap out crit sword+sanada for 3 piece warrior of the west for 10% extra ccd. Boom~ Or lose gallantry chest and keep sanada instead if you prefer iai over night rain. BOOM!~~~
Awesome! Started a new one to follow this, could you give me a lower level build? Takes a while to get there and I wanna know what to focus on fairly early
I followed distortion2's speedrun setup, then switched to full sanada once I got blade spin (low life lw crit kusa build) in region 4 ng then flew through everything till omi region ng+. Once in ng+ I start gathering everything, and lvl up, then I switch over to sword (respec). That's the way I do things anyway to be most efficient. Otherwise playing sword with full kingo set is fine. Use kato until you unlock tengen. carnage+sloth+weakness talisman will dominate the game pretty much. Take sloth off if you want some challenge.
Hi hope you don't mind answering two questions. What's that scroll you're using at 0.20 in the Two Kings fight to knock them down? And does Hino drop from a Weakness scroll at 0.54 or something else?
use guardian spirit talisman to summon mizuchi. Can use daiba-washi too, but the dragon gets a bit extra damage due to water debuff. Both knock humans down. And yah, soon as you enter, if you have casting speed up from helm or mystic art, using a talisman immediately will knock her down.
I'm just getting back into the game and was wondering whether that build is still viable for the endgame? (For some reason I fail to find any sufficiently detailed written guides for current builds at all :/ ).
Unsure of most damaging, but it's strong nevertheless. What you see is what you can get basically. If there's stronger out there, then copy them, but this is what my output is for this particular setup.
what's the east build to make currently that is powerful? i beat the huge dragon etc. i can get green items now, i am stuck at the london mission though. i could really use help on stats, armor and weapon choice
Hey, I've tried to rebuild this and it goes very well on bosses as shown obvously! :D But is it viable for "normal" Mobs i.e. "normal" Yokai. I've got some issuses with running through levels with it. Anyways, thanks for the awesome work. Carry on! :)
Well you have to handle each mob singly since sword isn't a crowd control weapon to begin with, but yah, so long as you hit their back you should kill in one shots lots of the times. ex. in demon king revealed, the big yokai patches where the big yokai pop up after one another, I can still hit 20-30k+ (high stance strong attack) if I hit the back of one with carnage and tengen buff up. Alternatively you can go lw mode (low life to make use of fanatic buff) if things get risky, same for protection talisman, takes care of small/normal stuff easily enough. Generally you'd just attack normally, not use skills on them.
Would this build be good for someone who doesn't go for behind the back damage. Like I wanna use a katana but I wanna be able to attack from anywhere and do high damage. Any suggestions or ways I could tweak this build to my liking?
NOOO MY BUILDS BEEN EXPOSEDDDD QNQ YYYY. Well now thats done. Awesome video btw. Try an axe build next, see if the Yokai pool stat + Yokai pool item + Best dmg buffs along with good rolls on waepon ofc and discord. The number could be higher than what you get for quickdraw! Didnt test it myself yet, currently comparing heavy gear stat boosts with the rest. Also Rage might buff more than carnage with axe? Thats expeculation havent tested it myself yet!
I've been watching a lot of these build videos and I'm really liking the look of all of them though I wish I could tell if any of them would work for a guy who just beat the game for the first time.
why u didnt pick clan that add more dmg from behind? also is the guardian better than tiger or dog for this build? do u recommend more dmg from behind or finishing blow on wpn?
because you won't always hit from behind, thus mitsunaga does a fine job at giving you damage whenever. Behind damage does not get a boost compared to normal damage, damage is damage, no difference between close combat damage and damage from behind, the benefit is ccd can boost all your damage no matter where you hit. You can get ccd/from behind(either, not both) and final blow AND cta all on same wpn.
Why do you not go for the 6 piece set bonus from Kingo´s set? Isnt Close Combat Damage better than for example the final blow damage, since this is mostly a yokai build after all. And how can you equip the gallantry armor with 10 body, when the required is 16 (or it is for me atleast)?
I know this is a little nitpicky but it's ee-eye quick draw, good video though I'm gonna use this build, but when you were saying that it just sounded weird to me
So there is certain skills the other types of weaponry that augmentant your damage should I still get those even if there not under sword or do I have to have the actual weapon equipped for those to be active and by skills I meant passives
I just beat the ogress first time in NG and it took me way more hits than this (obviously) at what point does it get to this stage? Does the damage only come up this huge because of the spirit and is it still viable for regular combos or just Iai/rain?
there's lots of factors. wpn attack, carnage, spirit, armor bonuses, skill used. Patch 1.06 nerfed a lot of what you see, this video is a month old. All swords builds that used carnage are about half as effective as before so cut numbers you see in vid by half and that's what you're capable of with near similar gear post patch 1.06
The reason I don't use Night rain is because it's hard to connect with, you need to be rather close and it's easy to miss while iai quickdraw has a lot of range on it. Still though, great build.
That, and Quickdraw puts you through the enemy if they're close, guaranteeing a back attack on Humans that aren't blocking. Anyone laying down will get the back attack bonus.
I watched the whole video, but at the part where you talk about the points spent into strength, can you be more specific? Why do you spent points in that stat? Is it related to eq weight?
yah, I save 1-2 pts I would have to waste into stamina. Since sword scales with str anyways it's an ok investment. Without that high str, i would need to pump into stamina, which does nothing for me offensively.
yah, but was nerfed pretty hard. Still kills stuff fast, just not as pretty numbers. ex. I was doing 72k to tachibana pre-patch, now I do 41k, as an example of the damage lost.
It would be better if you replace the armor piece with a Fanatic armor piece and then replace the sword with Gallantry sword. Both Kingo sword and Fanatic sword have low base damage, while Gallantry sword has one of the higher base damage. You do sacrifice your 6 attributes for 5 attributes on the sword if you do this. For a true non-critical build where you simply shouldn't get hit, replace the Fanatics sword with Warrior of the West sword (which also has higher base damage than Kingo sword, and you still get 6 attributes), and replace Gallantry with a piece of Warrior of the West. Now you have 12% extra damage from Warrior of the West set, all bonuses from Kingo set except the last (7% extra damage), killing strike damage from Sanada, and all you miss out is Night Rain damage bonus. The 30% critical damage is useless if you avoid most attacks.
Hey PWAR I have a question. Is maining a third weapon a viable option in Nioh?--- because most videos and guides recommend that you stick with only two weapons. Katanas and Spears are my main weapons, but I really like the Dual Katanas and been thinking to use it as my third weapon.
Depends on the armor set. But generally, most builds are mainly 1 weapon focuses is because of stats, which corresponds with level. At lv 580 or something, you can use any weapon you want since you can put 99 in every stat. Cut that in half, and you can have say 50 in every damage stat. You only have two weapon slots so generally of course you'd only focus on those two, but again, if you wanted to use any, just be high level :) generic sets that give damage to anything and not specific skills, are good. The most powerful generic set I'd say is 5pc Kingo+3pc tatenashi (their bonuses, -1 for actual pieces equipped with yasakani). You'd have to keep atagi sword equipped, however the 2nd weapon you can interchange between dual swords or spear or whatever.
But it's not just a matter of equipping these armor pieces, you have to find the right piece with also the right stats... right? So how hard is it to actually find all these pieces with the right stats?

I forgot to mention, or maybe I did, getting +10 was easy with this build since doing the Two kings quest made it super easy.
+10 of what, could you plz explain?
The moment when Tachibana asked for a fair fight and you shot him in the head and then finish him with a backstab
Yu F Technically he wants a fight between Samurai and Rifles plus single sword blow victories make Samurai blow all over the inside of their armour.
Besides, fuck him and his sprinting Iai, why the fuck cant I do that?
Tiger sprint
A backstab is just another tactic to stay alive on the battlefield; asking for a fair fight? Ni-oh isn't anime! If you see a chance to end a fight in a single blow, *take it!* I assure, when he drains you of all you Ki, and you're open for a grapple *he wont hesitate*
Ethan Donnelly you can do the sprint though
damn, and im over here doing 500 dmg thinking im a beast lol
tommyirish86 well prepare to be amazed. someone sent me a screenshot of their gameplay record. 300k in one hit. so far mine says 59,029 o_o. but I also use kusarigama.

Dustin Clay same, haven't played this in about a month. back on dark souls again

Your level 215 fighting old bosses lmfao cool beans
Your videos made me absolutely love this game. Thanks alot man. Subscribed for sure.
np, glad you they've made you like the game better ^^
I use night rain cause it remind of playing as vergil in dmc 3
Greywolfsif same
what is night rain a sword? and where do u get it
It's a perk in your sword skills dude jeez
ThunderGamer78 they don't list the name of the perk until you've done a certain mission so i didnt know
StormzZ bruh he showed it in the video smh
Thanks for the video. I appreciate all the explanations with all your choices. I'm giving Nioh another try. But wasn't sure how to spec my level 160 swords character effectively. I'll give it a try tonight. Though, I imagine things have been nerfed or changed. But it will be better than my current, not that efficient build.
really love the music , also this build is a killer , great vid mate .
reminds me of Ditronus' build that uses final blow and damage from behind with Aya Komori as spirit guardian. but this one wrecks humans not just yokai! well done.
00:58 80k damage, oh my god, that is the most powerful kick ever man.
Im not sure if its just the music but this looks so amazing
One of the only "early builds" that is still, somewhat, relevant after the latest nerf train came through.
Love it
You are a beast, will be looking forward to you in nioh 2
Thank you for sharing your videos. I am new to this game, I love it but I am struggling.
getting Nioh this weekend and damn I’m following this build. nice job dude.
The Power this man holds. He is a true Samurai
I used dat build since day 1 and never changed it xD. Did all difficulties with it. Played nioh totaly 400h around
Here I am doing 3k with my spear build and I thought I was good 😂
Seriiusly though 100k plus or 200k plus doesn't even matter these build you mak are insane, can't wait to see what's next
Well, in real life it is a one hit one blow so you did really great replicating that lol. I know it's old video, came from your Night Blade vid :)
He must've gotten flamed for say
B-e-ta because he fixed the way he said it
I was roasted. I'm bad with words :S
hi .. can you tell me how you got ( hikoemon Ichimonji ) sword
You may be able to forge it. Have you checked?
I will check
How? impossible im now level 450 and i have etheral weapons but my damage is weak how did you do that?
excellent production value
Another great build to farm for! Thanks a lot!
Glad you enjoyed it ^^
i think this build is still viable, they didnt nerfed the damage on quickdraw and they even increased the damage of 'night rain' im still on the first game wearing full kingo set and building towards this crazy build!! thanks for posting the build!!
funny you say that, uploading a successor to this build right now xD Should be up in an hour or two :p
PWARGaming saw the vid already!! great work again, still gonne stick with kingo's first since im almost on NG+ ^^
Appreciate the build video man
Appreciate your comment man :)
hi .. can you till me how you got ( hikoemon Ichimonji ) sword ?
Glad i came across this, was using the Suzuku blade/reaper build for a long time and was getting really boring, tried this out and it is nice to still feel strong with a different playstyle. Have changed it up slightly though dropping the Daiichi and Mikawa (want to get away from critical build and i'm happy with Iai) sets to grab 2 pieces of Yagyu and doubling it up as a parry build, my timing sucks so this helps a lot.
All in all very nice build. Slower than some of the others but i think its more fun than blade spin spam.
Great video! music was on point! =P
I really love your style of videos!!
thanks! ^^
Sword of the Stranger!
Great movie! :)
PWARGaming I watched the movie because of this thumbnail it's one of my favorite now.
All build videos in NG+ and here I am just starting the final region of the game. Oh well, I'll get there eventually.
Nothing can resist the edge of my NIPPON STEEL
PWARGaming Ahh thank god for that, thx for answering - that was my primary concern
Sonny Reigns Best I do now is just level my lv150 weapon + by + slowly then think about aiming for 160.
PWARGaming Btw erm need ask ya about the reforging Mechanic . My Kingo armor does not have final blow , so I have to use reforging until I gain that particular thing I want?
you do the damage my level 320 axe build does with lumber chop with a heavy attack...
youre only on ng+, but still
I don't know if anyone needs a katana. I have one at level 89 with 525 attack and it does have one very nice special effect, and i'll list the others. Damage from behind 17.5%,water damage +8,break 7,high guard ki reduction 12.2%% and the good one i was talking about change attack to(heart) A-. IF you don't like the other special effects you could always go to the black smith and reforge the stat that you want.
the legend of one slash man
Love the videos man.
Thank you for your effort,
But I don't understand how the sword became so powerful that you could explain more how to make my sword so strong.

Very good work mate. Tried to contact you directly but the abyssmal YT messaging system probably didn't notify you. Let me know if you see this, I have some ideas.
I was going for a high back damage build and wasn't aware of the mikawa set... Time to go ape shit with this :D
I love the music in this video
The grind to be this op
exelente set, eres un monstruo, saludos desde cali colombia !!!
That sounds good. I'm excited to see what kind of build you can make with it. I've been using a good Oni Sakon's spear and I enjoy it.
I'm pretty sure my spear is what hit for over 200k, the tombo kiri is amazing
Walt Disney's Nioh The Samurai
Thank you PWAR! Really useful and great videos! -->Question: I want to try this Build. Where to spend the Amrita first when I around Level 60?
I would say get B agility first, get stats to equip everything, then 32 magic and 14 ninjutsu, then pump rest into heart if you have any left. Spirit can wait a while, the main juice of tengen is the stance bonus I mentioned and that's unlocked automatically i believe. Can use Kato or jishi before tengen if you don't have it yet.
Can you do a vid update after the 1.06 pretty heavy nerf to sword of execution and carnage talisman ? Seems much less powerful than before nowadays.
I don't see much point other than correcting "powerful" to "good" xD All sword builds got nerfed, not just this one, not much you can do to "avoid" the nerfs. final blow is still better than grapple. And hitting from behidn is still better then hitting from the front. Carnage/pill was also nerfed so every build is weaker than before
Love the video, I'm subscribing lol
I'm actually running this build right now, After I saw this video I was so happy to see someone making a badarse Katana build that wasn't boring and a one trick pony. My damage from behind Immediately jumped from 11K to 16K and I'm only level 151. Hey project how did you get the Gallantry armour in NG+? At the moment I have Fanatic but I want the Gallantry so I can use Night Rain.
PWARGaming
you can either farm for the smithin text from ishida from defiled holy mountain, or kill him anyways and drop his chest. Forging has less stat reqs, half less than dropped gear.
Awesome, thanks for the advice and speedy response. Looking forward to more of your videos man👍
love the content! I'm currently trying to level up and make a blender build:]
it's ee-ay quickdraw, and no night rain does not out damage it if you know how to use it, you can get a skill that lets you use ee-ay strike on a ki pulse, that means if you can get good at the timing you can combo on a ee-ay strike with another ee-ay strike infinitely, you can also use it with that skill to combo on a parry, parry - counter - ee-ay strike - final blow, you can slam an enemy with a combo and then when theyre staggering you can move immediately into a quickdraw. albeit itd be less helpful with a one hit build like yours, but for normal play ee-ay strike completely overshadows night rain even with that 30% bonus you got.
Sorry but no, I just proved it out damaged iai. Iai for sure has its uses, but for yokai nightrain is stronger. You can do the exact same thing for nightrain (ki pulse into it to raise damage). Humans definitely iai is better, but for yokai nightrain trumps iai.
oh so Iai quickdraw III affects night rain too? i didnt know that, i thought it was just for Iai quickdraw
nope i tested it and night rain breaks the combo, when used after a parry night rain hits once and then the enemy stands up to block the rest which means you cant continue the combo into final blow, with Iai quickdraw when you do that its like you hit two final blows in one attack. and nightrain may be able to combo into itself like iai quickdraw but the activation is longer and easier to interrupt than a string of quickdraws
im telling you, take off your op build and test out my quickdraw combo: Haze - Haze II - Iai quickdraw III - final blow, the quickdraw does around the same damage as the final blow so its like you hit them with two of them in one attack.
although now thinking about it i guess youre right, you cant use parrys against big yokai, in that case you might be right about night rain being better against them
I know haze+iai destroys humans lol that's not my argument, I agree that iai is better in that case.
Cause I am a didn't play the beta pleb, what do you think I should sub the Crimson armor with? I was thinking just making it the full Kingo's set
Nice video dude, but was just wondering if its possible to make a strong build like blender without being on 30% health all the time. Thanks!
with this build?
PWARGaming Thanks alot dude! Again, sweet video. You got yourself a sub :)
Is this build still viable? Just picked up Nioh and progressing (love this build via your video).
Have you tried this build? If so does it still work?
I enjoyed your videos on TH-cam and just have a question! How do you swing that Kusarigama when you use the Living Weapon? I can't figure it out!
Hello, sorry to ask just found this video, how do you get divine Sanada gear? I can only craft the purple rarity
I'm just getting back into the game and was wondering whether that build is still viable for the endgame? (For some reason I fail to find any sufficiently detailed written guides for current builds at all :/ ).
Hey man, im new to the game and im searching for a good katana build, do you recommend this one from the video? Is the most damage got by final blows?
Unsure of most damaging, but it's strong nevertheless. What you see is what you can get basically. If there's stronger out there, then copy them, but this is what my output is for this particular setup.
PWARGaming ok thx man ^^ u got a new sub
what's the east build to make currently that is powerful? i beat the huge dragon etc. i can get green items now, i am stuck at the london mission though. i could really use help on stats, armor and weapon choice
Which talisman and spirit animal are you using to make Tachibana and Honda fall over?
Wow nice Job there
Still works after the nerf? Any other build for elemental damage and onmyo based playing? For any weapon
Thats expeculation havent tested it myself yet!
decky216 carnage > rage
swish kaboom did you test it with an axe?
decky216 yes, i use obsidian set. and the castanimation is too slow its better not to use it. i can one to two hit anyways and one spin a large yokai
Carnage + steel (for reversing the defense debuff) is better than pretty much any other damage buff.
Tek Almighty Tengen Kujaku damage buff + Carnage is better than carnage. lol??
I've been watching a lot of these build videos and I'm really liking the look of all of them though I wish I could tell if any of them would work for a guy who just beat the game for the first time.
Nope.
crazy cool man!
why u didnt pick clan that add more dmg from behind? also is the guardian better than tiger or dog for this build? do u recommend more dmg from behind or finishing blow on wpn?
because you won't always hit from behind, thus mitsunaga does a fine job at giving you damage whenever. Behind damage does not get a boost compared to normal damage, damage is damage, no difference between close combat damage and damage from behind, the benefit is ccd can boost all your damage no matter where you hit. You can get ccd/from behind(either, not both) and final blow AND cta all on same wpn.
Well done vid!
Why do you not go for the 6 piece set bonus from Kingo´s set? Isnt Close Combat Damage better than for example the final blow damage, since this is mostly a yokai build after all. And how can you equip the gallantry armor with 10 body, when the required is 16 (or it is for me atleast)?
its more of a human build actually. 7% ccd is also negligible, I rather have extra damage from final blow. But that's my preference.
Okay thanks! Any idea about why my gallantry chest takes 16 body to wear, where your takes 8?
forged. forging cuts reqs in half, but you gotta get smithing text. Ishida on defiled holy mountain drops it.
I know this is a little nitpicky but it's ee-eye quick draw, good video though I'm gonna use this build, but when you were saying that it just sounded weird to me
For the Damage bonus during Critical, if I run Suzaku and its active, am I in a state of critical during the duration of Suzaku living weapon?
lol nice compensating with how you said BETA in the last video. made me laugh
Anyone laying down will get the back attack bonus.
yah for humans iai is definitely better. But wanted to make people aware of night rain, bigger yokai bosses will take all the hits.
@PWARGaming is this build still viable with the critical nerfs?I want to change from susanoo, thx.
yah, but was nerfed pretty hard. Still kills stuff fast, just not as pretty numbers. ex. I was doing 72k to tachibana pre-patch, now I do 41k, as an example of the damage lost.
I see.I m waiting for your next lance build then. Soon?
kinda exactly like my build use the bat for more back damage if want btw
So sick.
You can still get Sanada and the Text
Kitten Slayer from where ?
Hey PWAR I have a question. Is maining a third weapon a viable option in Nioh?--- because most videos and guides recommend that you stick with only two weapons.
Katanas and Spears are my main weapons, but I really like the Dual Katanas and been thinking to use it as my third weapon.
Depends on the armor set. But generally, most builds are mainly 1 weapon focuses is because of stats, which corresponds with level. At lv 580 or something, you can use any weapon you want since you can put 99 in every stat. Cut that in half, and you can have say 50 in every damage stat. You only have two weapon slots so generally of course you'd only focus on those two, but again, if you wanted to use any, just be high level :)
generic sets that give damage to anything and not specific skills, are good. The most powerful generic set I'd say is 5pc Kingo+3pc tatenashi (their bonuses, -1 for actual pieces equipped with yasakani). You'd have to keep atagi sword equipped, however the 2nd weapon you can interchange between dual swords or spear or whatever.
Many thanks, PWAR!--- Now I think I'll definitely be using Dual Katanas as my third weapon!
I'll shall keep those tips in mind.
Will you be making videos for Rise of the Ronin?
Wow, its Amakakeru Ryu no Hirameki
Can u please show ur status for all of ur special effects because im only doing around 46k instead of 66k on honda i don't understand
But it's not just a matter of equipping these armor pieces, you have to find the right piece with also the right stats... right? So how hard is it to actually find all these pieces with the right stats?
Wow nice work lol 👍
