I listen to audiobooks (free on apps from my local library) while I work in the kitchen.

If I feel like vegging out when there's a long to-do list, being outdoors is refreshing. It's nice to hear the birds or see how my small children react to their surroundings. Hmm. Something else is watching content like this. It gives me an attitude adjustment. At the least, I gather ideas for an action plan. Once I reach my enough-is-enough train of thought, I tackle the thing I know my future self is going to thank me for (tending to dishes is usually that chore).

I love this! Getting outside with my kids is a great re-set for me too!

I play a game with myself every morning while I'm waiting for the teakettle to heat up for my morning brew: While the first kettle is coming to a boil, I empty the dishwasher and put away the dishes. I can usually finish by the time the water is hot. While the second kettle is heating up, I load any dirty dishes from the sink into the dishwasher. For the third kettle, I make my bed. I can finish these before the water boils, also. You could do the same with a coffee maker.
